Oprócz utworów pochodzących z najnowszej płyty "Straight Outta Smogtown" zespół zaprezentował kilka starszych, pochodzących z albumów "Machete Justice", "We'll Show You Mosh, Bitch!" czy splitu "Bestial Castigation". Całość została zarejestrowana przez ekipę Marcina Halerza, który zajął się również montażem. PHARMACIST wydadzą nowy album w Hells Headbangers

 

Hells Headbangers is proud to announce the signing of Pharmacist. The first fruit of this union shall be the vinyl LP and cassette tape editions of the band’s forthcoming second album, Flourishing Extremities On Unspoiled Mental Grounds, which will see release through the label during the second half of the year. A brand-new third full-length will be released through Hells Headbangers, as well, on all formats.

One of the most renowned bands in the modern goregrind scene, Pharmacist was formed in early 2020 by Pharmacist (guitars, bass, vocals) and Therapeutist (drums). Shortly after formation, the band released the EP Forensic Pathology Jurisprudence, which was quickly followed by the debut full-length Medical Renditions Of Grinding Decomposition in August 2020, spreading the old-school death metal with gore themes in the vein of early Carcass and Pathologist. Through the next year, the band did a massive output of singles, splits, and EPs, culminating in the second full-length, Flourishing Extremities On Unspoiled Mental Grounds, which will see release on CD this April.

Known for long songs, complex structures, and variety in approach, Pharmacist have enhanced more progressive and unique touches in extreme metal genre, having lead-guitar guest Andrew Lee (Ripped to Shreds, Skullsmasher) on a few releases. With extension of such progression, Pharmacist's new releases will definitely bring even more grotesque and bizarre tones in the rotten symphony of this project.

A statement from the band reads: "Excited and appreciated to work with Hells Headbangers on the new stuff! The latest album is just out of the stove, steaming and reeky, and it feels satisfying as result, so looking forward to extrapolate it to new ideas, with support of pro team!"

SEDIMENTUM podpisali papiery z Memento Mori

 

In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage death metal, Memento Mori are extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: Sedimentum, from Canada.

Sedimentum was born in 2018 when a few friends who, for a little while, wanted to play filthy death metal got together in the extreme coldness of Québec City, Canada. After releasing a critically acclaimed demo in 2019 and a couple of split 7" EPs, the band started working on their debut album. The actual lineup consists of Alexis Élément-Plamondon on guitar and vocals, Alexandre Landry on bass, Mathieu Lépine on drums and vocals, and Ulysse Nadeau-Paré on guitar, and all four of them are more than ready to start playing live after two years of forced quietness due to the pandemic.

Theirs is an atavistic and gnarly form of death metal mainly influenced by old Finnish and English bands that strikes the listener as being straight-up summoned inside unbounded, dreary catacombs from a long-buried past. Pounding blastbeats, insufferable slow parts, and weird Finnish riffs blend well together in their take on modern death metal. But make no mistake: Sedimentum ain't just about cavernous ambience. They ain't just about dank atmosphere: their music is filled to the brim with memorable, utterly heavy riffs that suck you in and spit you out into a vortex of putridity where all you can do is wallow in the sludge and gasp for air until your certain demise.

Sedimentum's debut full-length is due out on October 24th. Memento Mori will unleash the CD version while Me Saco Un Ojo Records will take care of the LP, tape, and digital versions. Prior to that, the band and Me Saco Un Ojo Records have agreed to launch a new demo tape that will be out very soon.

Cholera, po zeszłorocznym mini In Aphelion, który zrobił na mnie bardzo silne wrażenie, moje oczekiwania wobec nadchodzącego pełniaka zespołu były ustawione na dość wysokim poziomie. Przyznam szczerze, że zawartość tej płyty nielicho mnie zaskoczyła. Po pobieżnym przeanalizowaniu okładki sądziłem bowiem, że napotkam tu jakieś klimatyczne pitolenie spod znaku Black, lub Power Metalu, które po krótkiej konsumpcji będę mógł zjechać w recenzji, niczym burą kobyłę. Nic z tych rzeczy, moi drodzy! Fleshbore rzeźbi tu bowiem bardzo dobry, oparty na współczesnych trendach, Techniczny Death Metal, który solidnie przetrzepał mi portki. (Czytaj dalej...)

Kurczę, wiem, że drugi, pełny materiał fińskiego Cadaveric Incubator ukazał się już dobre dziewięć miesięcy temu, mało tego, został już zrecenzowany na łamach Apocalyptic Rites przez mego, redakcyjnego kolegę, mości Harlequin’a, którego opinię bardzo szanuję i z którym chętnie napiłbym się wódki, przy pierwszej, nadarzającej się okazji, niemniej jednak wg mnie druga, pełna płyta finów, choć z pewnością nie jest żadnym odrodzeniem gatunku (bo chyba też wcale nie miała nim być), to jednak nie zasługuje z pewnością na tak ostrą ocenę, jaka została tu przedstawiona. (Czytaj dalej...)
