Trzech zakapturzonych mistyków z Czelabińska na Uralu, którzy ukrywają się pod szyldem Megalith Levitation, powróciło po niespełna dwóch latach hibernacji. Najprościej rzecz ujmując, panowie się uaktywnili i ponownie rozjebali system. Zrobili to bezapelacyjnie i w całej rozciągłości znaczenia tego zagadnienia. Już poprzedni „Void Psalms” przeczołgał mnie potwornie po meandrach surrealistycznych rytuałów, ale to, co zrobił ze mną „Obscure Fire”,  przechodzi wszelkie granice i wymyka się jakimkolwiek porównaniom, przy zachowaniu zdrowego rozsądku. (Czytaj dalej...)

Swedish death metal band DEMONICAL returns with a surprise new EP "Into Victory", featuring one new, original track and a cover of Ramones' song. The EP is due tomorrow, March 31st, on Agonia Records in CD and digital. Its title track received a lyric video, which is premiering now, at this address:

The new material marks a line-up change, with the band debuting a new singer. "With the release of 'Into Victory', we hereby welcome Charlie Fryksell as our new vocalist," comments DEMONICAL. "Like an unstoppable force, we will push on towards new greater goals and this EP is another step on that path. So ladies and gentlemen, join us in death!"

"Into Victory" followed the footsteps of "Mass Destroyer" (2022) to Glashuset and Sellnoise Studios, where it was recorded & produced by DEMONICAL, Jonas Arnberg and Johan Hjelm. Mixing and mastering was done by Ronnie Bjornstrom at BLP Studios (Meshuggah, Blood Red Throne). The cover artwork was painted by Belial Necroarts.

Tego typu zespoły zawsze, już na wstępie, mają u mnie pod górkę. No bo Wesele… Nie wiem z jakiego powodu autor zdecydował się na tak idiotyczną nazwę dla zespołu, jakby nie było, metalowego. Może jest, podobnie jak ja, zakochany w klasycznym obrazie Wojciecha Smarzowskiego, nie wnikam. Przyznacie jednak, że to zajeżdża hipsteriadą. Pierwsze koncerty po pandemii i długiej walce Therthonax z problemami zdrowotnymi

Koncerty następują po niedawno wydanych przez Pagan Records reedycjach klasycznych wydawnictw zespołu (z niektórymi niepublikowanymi materiałami i po raz pierwszy na winylu)

Aby uczcić 30-lecie zespołu, kultowy grecki zespół black metalowy Kawir ogłosił powrót do występów na żywo w kwietniu. Pierwsze koncerty odbędą się w rodzimej Grecji, w Salonikach (1 kwietnia) i Atenach (2 kwietnia). Kawir będzie dzielić scenę z brytyjskim zespołem Saor, który również będzie obchodził 10-lecie.

Będą to pierwsze występy Kawir od czasu, gdy pandemia wstrzymała wszelką działalność na żywo i od czasu problemów zdrowotnych założyciela zespołu – Therthonax – które wiązały się z licznymi operacjami serca i długą drogą powrotu do zdrowia.

Kawir skomentował: „Czas świętować 30-lecie Kawir razem z Saorem, który świętuje 10-lecie, czekamy na was wszystkich. Χαιρε”.

International death/funeral doom metal act MESMUR will be releasing their new album “Chthonic” on April 14th 2023 via Solitude Prod. (RUS) and Aesthetic Death (UK).

Today, the band premieres a brand new single, "Refraction", at Veil Of Sound. Stream it HERE.

The album's title is based on the Greek word for "underworld", and where the band's previous albums have explored themes of cosmic entropy and earthly apocalypse, “Chthonic” looks to the spirit world for its inspiration. Formed as a collection of paranormal horror tales, it speaks of fabled entities making contact through the veil of sleep, summoning prey to subterranean depths, or haunting a post apocalyptic landscape.

Working in collaboration with Solitude Prod. (RUS) and Aesthetic Death (UK), “Chthonic” will be released initially on digi CD on 14th April 2023, with plans for a vinyl release to follow later.

Debiut Sol An Varma już za tydzień

 

Sól án varma, translated Sun without radiance, is a 70 minute long piece written and performed by a select few notorious names from the Icelandic black metal underground. Founded by T.Í. and D.G. (members of Misþyrming, Naðra, Núll, Drottinn, etc.), prominent personnel of the Icelandic Vánagandr elite, Sól án varma is more of an conceptual idea rather than a band or a side project.

Originally, Sól án varma, was commissioned as a special one-of-a-kind show for Roadburn Festival 2018. The 70 minute piece has neither been heard before nor since this special performance.

Having hosted Misþyrming as “Artist in Residence” at the festival two years prior, Walter Hoeijmakers, Roadburn director wanted the Icelandic musicians to bring a new and compelling phenomenon to the table for the 2018 edition of the festival. After a meeting with Walter in Iceland in 2017, D.G. and T.Í. put together a unit of carefully selected musicians to form what would later become the Sól án varma concept. These members are: G.E. (Misþyrming, Naðra, Svartidauði), Á.B.Z. (Carpe Noctem, Árstíðir Lífsins), M.S. (Svartidauði, Drottinn), S.V. (Svartidauði, Drottinn) and H.V. (Wormlust).

After a long and intensive writing and rehearsing period, the group premiered the piece at the Roadburn Festival 2018 in front of three-thousand fans in the 013-Venue in Tilburg.

A year after the performance, the group decided to make the piece immortal by putting it into a properly presentable recorded format. The group entered the studio and tracked down most of the instrumentals over a course of five weeks. Due to being very busy with their other projects, the musicians put the recordings on a hiatus which would take almost one and a half year, unexpectedly.

As plague hit the world, the group saw an opportunity to resume their work on the album and finished the recordings in December 2020. Onward into the year 2021, Sól án varma was mixed and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano. Cover artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu and layout designed by Andri Þór Jóhannsson.

Sól án varma is undeniably one of the most ambitious recording projects that has materialised in the Icelandic black metal scene. The album is due out in December 2022 via Ván Records.

Hypnagogia wyda debiut dla Theogonia Records

Whythre is pleased to unleash the first single “Scorchbreath” off their forthcoming album “Impregnate My Hate” due out this coming May 2023. The Seattle melodic death metallers have been together since 2015 and this is their third release. Over the course of the nine tracks on the album they experiment with a variety of techniques from aggressive mindlessness to slow and somber moments…with some catchy hooks!

The single "Scorchbreath" describes adventures Adam and Shon experienced on trips to Colombia (Santa Marta) and Detroit (Movement music festival). "Scorchbreath" chronicles a code word that was spoken to engage in after-hour events and various forms of libations. These travels hold a special place in the hearts of Adam Chambers (vocals/guitars/synths) and Shon Petrey (guitar/synths) and this song brings back fond memories. Musically, the single has some punchy/thrashy verses with a big carnival vibe of a chorus, all while incorporating fun shred moments. 

Whythre was officially started in 2010 by Petrey and remained a solo project until 2012 when he met an opera-trained singer named Jeran Michaels, the first album was released and slowly a full lineup began to form. They have since formed into an impressive force of symphonic riffs and growls.

An aggressive introduction to the album, “Scorchbreath” is an onslaught of big solos, slamming breakdowns, subtle orchestration, and a sing-along chorus that embodies Whythre’s deft formulation of melodic death metal singed with a blackened edge. Wear appropriate protection.

Whythre is recommended for fans of Hypocrisy, Children of Bodom and Havok.

Gdy zabierałem się za pierwszą płytę japońskiego zespołu In Nothingness, chcąc nie chcąc zerknąłem na okładkę tej płytki. Cóż, front cover całkiem do rzeczy, nad wyraz dobrze pasujący do tytułu, a i logo zdecydowanie kreślone fachową ręką. A muzyka? Można powiedzieć, że podobnie jak strona wizualna tego materiału jest solidna, rzetelna i poniżej pewnego poziomu się nie zniża. (Czytaj dalej...)

UKĆ to jednoosobowy projekt z Białegostoku. Cała koncepcja narodziła się w 2017 roku w głowie multiinstrumentalisty Icanraza znanego ze współpracy m.in. z takimi zespołami jak Corruption, Christ Agony, Devilish Impressions, Hermh, Abused Majesty, Virgin Snatch, Darzamat, Voidfire i wielu innych.

UKĆ to solowy projekt w pełnym tego określenia znaczeniu, ponieważ Łukasz odpowiada za partie wszystkich instrumentów (wokale, perkusja, gitary, bas, klawisze), kompozycje, liryki oraz produkcję. Pierwszym oficjalnym wydawnictwem była EP-ka „Przemijanie”, która ukazała się 30 listopada 2022 roku nakładem Seven Gates Of Hell Productions.

Tuż po premierze minialbumu „Przemijanie" Icanraz otrzymał pierwsze propozycje zaprezentowania UKĆ na żywo. To było impulsem do skompletowania pełnego koncertowego składu.Teraz UKĆ to jednoosobowy projekt studyjny, natomiast na żywo to pełny 4-osobowy zespół z Icanrazem na wokalu i gitarze, Łukaszem Bielemuk na gitarze, Mateuszem Demianiuk na basie i Pawłem Staniszczak na bębnach.

Wieści od NIGHTSIDE

 

Today, Purity Through Fire announces April 22nd as the international release date for the comeback recording of Finland's Nightside, Lions (Demo 2023), on CD format.

Finland's Nightside were originally founded in 1996, in Turku. A cult band by nearly every definition, they soon set about a stream of short-length releases over the next three years, finally culminating in their 2001 debut album, The End of Christianity. Their sound was strikingly of the times, just as their native country was beginning to assert its dominance in the underground. However, by 2003, Nightside effectively split up and all members continued on with other bands.

Then, in 2021, Nightside returned with a new lineup that still contained two original members, and they played a comeback gig in early 2022 at the Turku Saatanalle fest. Soon after that, some new songs were written. Of them, the three new songs presented here on Nightside's comeback recording, Lions (Demo 2023), were performed live for the first time in early December 2022 and, a week after that, recorded as a demo to showcase what the band's all about nowadays. However, to just qualify this recording as a "demo" is a grave disservice to the superlative quality contained within, not to mention sharpened, era-authentic production courtesy of Kryptamok's Hex Inferi. Indeed, the fire of old burns brighter than ever here; Lions could be a veritable throwback to the late '90s, if not for the absolutely invigorating passion presented across the 13-minute recording, thereby rendering it fresher than most nowadays "black metal."

Mystical and magisterial and with grim splendor to spare, Lions is as auspicious of a comeback recording as any, and favorably foreshadows Nightside's eventual second album.
