Można by powiedzieć, że w Peru bez zmian. A przynajmniej u chłopaków z Putrid, którzy to wypuszczą lada moment kolejny album pod skrzydłami Godz ov War. Jeśli dobrze pamiętam, „Antichrist Above” określiłem mianem największej rozpierduchy wydanej przez ten krajowy label. Nie będzie zatem zdziwieniem, jeśli od razu powiem, że „All that We Hate” tę barbarzyńską tradycję podtrzymują, mieszcząc się w ścisłym topie napierdalatorów, i to nie tylko w ramach wspomnianego labelu. (Czytaj dalej...)

Powstały osiem lat temu, madrycki zespół Murmur, powinien siąść fanom takich wykwitów jak Alcest, Deafheaven czy Harakiri For The Sky, bowiem Hiszpanie grają podobny, jak nie ten sam rodzaj „black metalu”. Rooted in the raw aggression of old-school Swedish death metal and infused with the grit of crust punk and hardcore, "Abyss Calls to Abyss" channels both ferocity and purpose. Today, Memento Mori in conspiracy with Me Saco Un Ojo Records announce January 26th, 2026 as the international release date for the highly anticipated second album of Japan's Invictus, Nocturnal Visions. Memento Mori will handle the CD version while Me Saco Un Ojo will handle the vinyl version.

Conceived in Nagano City back in 2015, Invictus' original goal was to play death metal with hints of technicality and a strong thrash metal edge, combining the morbid grooves and abhorrent atmospherics of all archaic death metal gods (Death, Malevolent Creation, Monstrosity, Brutality, Mercyless, Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Obituary, early Decapitated, Sadistic Intent, early Cannibal Corpse) and prioritizing the creation of songs crammed with commanding riffs over any other aspect of their putrescent music. While the target remains the same, the band is now exploring a broader spectrum of riff-oriented death metal in order to aggravate the carnage, exuding a more pernicious aural decay and bludgeoning the listener into submission by some of the meatiest and most vitriolic death metal conceivable.

Witness the Japanese band's second album, Nocturnal Visions. While 2020's The Catacombs of Fear debut album was no slouch, here do Invictus exude a unique feel to their music that is enshrouded in the mystique of the past. On December 6th internationally, Purity Through Fire is proud to present the highly anticipated third album of Sweden's Greve, Bleknat Bortom Evig Tid, on CD format. The vinyl version will follow in the new year.

Since bursting from the void in 2019, Greve have become a gold standard for classic, second-wave Swedish black metal seemingly decades removed from anything resembling modernity. Which should come as little surprise given that Greve were yet another band helmed by Ancient Records linchpin Swartadauþuz (Bekëth Nexëhmü, Gnipahålan, Musmahhu, Trolldom, Daudadagr, Secrets et. al.). Much like most / all of Swartadauþuz's projects are blessed with an intrinsically ancient sound, so, too, did Greve with a breathtakingly spectral 'n' stargazing style of black metal mysticism, displayed in full-length form first on 2019's Nordarikets Strid and then 2022's Föllo af Svavel, Lifvets Dimridå.

Dependably, when that modernity begins to become too suffocating, Swartadauþuz returns - now with Greve's third full-length, Bleknat Bortom Evig Tid. With Korgath joining him on vocals for the second straight record, Greve continue to push their sound to the hinterlands of their imagination - and even deeper into the past. Whereas its towering predecessor wielded both beauty and menace in a denser and more-aggressive soundfield, Bleknat Bortom Evig Tid surges and decelerates to a more skeletal and yet somehow-more-immediate framework. To be sure, this is the clearest Greve have sounded to date, with a crisp and sparkling soundfield heightening that skeletal aspect; also to be sure, Swartadauþuz's songwriting has rarely been this concise and compact, even when still stretched to eight minutes per song, nor has his melodicism held such a yearning quality. This lateral development pays off in spades, serving to expand the Greve world whilst keeping their core values intact. Where labyrinths once unfolded into ever more labyrinths, Bleknat Bortom Evig Tid offers the listener wide-open spaces and a direct path to the horizon: Atmospheric Black Metal Art (Exclusively) for dreamers and lone wolves alike!

BARDITUS zapowiadają debiutancki album

 

Today, Purity Through Fire announces December 6th as the international release date for Barditus' long-awaited debut album, Nibelungentreue, on digipack CD and vinyl LP formats.

Begun in 2004, Barditus is a studio & live project of Uwe Nolte, from the cult Orplid. In 2021, after nearly two decades since the first two initial EPs, Nolte revived the project together with Anti-Christian from Stern des Bundes. While Orplid's sound is somewhere between neofolk and neoclassical, with themes ranging from Germanic paganism and Greek mythology to the Christian symbolism of the early Middle Ages and natural romanticism, here with Barditus do the duo explore a sound somewhere between paradigmatic neofolk and black metal - or even "acoustic black metal," if you will. And while in Orplid the occidental bastion was defended with the quill, Barditus take up the sword and unconditionally profess heroism and love.

Königreichssaal to zespół, który w pierwszej kolejności zapadł mi w pamięć poprzez osobę Papy Artura w składzie i kultowe zdjęcie w żonobijce na cmentarzu. Dopiero jakiś czas później zobaczyłem chłopaków na żywo, i to był drugi impuls do uzupełnienia sobie ich dyskografii. Stwierdzić trzeba, że każde kolejne wydawnictwo „Koników” jest inne, ale każde tak samo dobre. Czas mija, a świat niekoniecznie staje się lepszym miejscem, ale wciąż potrafię się nim zachwycić. Mam nadzieję, że ona również.

Today, Purity Through Fire announces December 6th as the international release date for Velmorth's striking debut album, Feral Dominion, on CD format. The vinyl version will follow in the new year.

Velmorth is a new creation of the ever-restless Revenant - renown for such crimes as Sarkrista, Order of Nosferat, and most recently Siechknecht - that sounds unapologetically OLD. Like some lost recording from the notorious Concilium camp during the late '90s, the Feral Dominion debut album spits in the face of modernity with a ripping-yet-ethereal style of black metal high on melancholy, melody, and mysticism. No more but definitely no less, Velmorth is BLACK METAL from ancient times and forgotten realms, days when there were no "safe spaces" and weapons of war & wonder were wielded freely far deep in the underground: "Hail Eternal Warspirit" indeed! And while the form is authentic as fuck, the content - the songwriting itself, from intro on across the next seven shimmering tracks - betrays a depth of understanding ungraspable to most nowadays, the very secrets to the black arts. Debiut NOVOMUNDO w marcu

 

Italian metal fusionists NOVOMUNDO will release their first full-length album, "The Cursed Cult", on March 1st, 2026.

NOVOMUNDO was born near Rome around 2012 with the idea to blend heavy and groovy music textures alongside various influences, rhythms, and instruments from all over the world. After some line-up changes over the years, the band rewrote and refined some of their previous material, releasing "Echoes of Ego": four songs focused on mid-paced ferocity and exotic grooves, with themes exploring modern world decay, primeval instincts, and nightmarish visions.

"The Cursed Cult" represents the band’s first full-length effort: a darker and more crushing take on their renewed sound. The album explores Voodoo culture, its symbols and meanings, interpreted through the lens of contemporary life. Fourteen tracks of ferocity and raw energy blend dark ambient passages with a rotten edge, fusing death-groove and 2000s metal influences enriched by modern tones and crust-core elements.

The album is a concept piece centered on Voodoo — its mysteries, rituals, and symbolic icons. Lyrically, it touches on slavery, prejudice, and death as a way to give value to life, among other themes. Across the tracks, listeners are guided through the pantheon of Voodoo deities, called Loa, exploring their stories and traits as metaphors to convey the album’s core messages. The soundscape of NOVOMUNDO evokes emotional instability and a sense of unease, symbolizing the fear stemming from ignorance and unfamiliarity.
