Nowa EP-ka DEATH VANISH w marcu

 

Today, Eternal Death announces March 17th as the international release date for a brand-new EP from Death Vanish, Hermitic Fire, on cassette tape format.

Formed in 2017, Death Vanish is a solo project of Valder from the band One Master. Playing select live shows with a full lineup, the songwriting and all instruments on the recorded material is performed by Valder. Since the project's formation, two EPs and a split have been released - and now , four years after the last one, arrives a new EP titled Hermitic Fire.

Compared to his other ongoing musical endeavors, Death Vanish explores Valder’s interest in the more primitive side of black metal expressed by bands such as Beherit and Profanatica. And yet, there's plenty of other nasty ingredients lurking within that cauldron, as evidenced by this latest Hermitic Fire. More diverse overall and yet also more focused, Hermitic Fire shows Death Vanish as true pervertors of black metal, here incorporating a deathrock side - subtle, but still pronounced - and a general air of unorthodoxy that drives deep into the heart of black metal's earliest antagonists. As such, all sides of Death Vanish are displayed here: from the furious simplicity of the opening track "Conquer With Solar Might," to the awkward riffs and remedial keyboards on the unabashed homage to Beherit "From Down There," to the ritualistic channeling of Big Boss in "Old Magick and Tyrant," to the final two more headbanging tributes to Profanatica. Altogether, it's 24 trend-free minutes bound to amaze and confuse in equal measure - simultaneously archaic and fuck-you fresh - and Valder, naturally, wouldn't have it any other way.

Following the release of Hermitic Fire, Death Vanish will return to the stage with limited live performances. Only true deviants need apply.

Zespół powstał w Bydgoszczy w 1990 roku i mimo wielu zmian w składzie działa aktywnie do dziś, mając na koncie kilka wydawnictw, które bez wątpienia można uznać za kamienie milowe polskiej sceny HC. Ich ostatni pełny album, "Whatever It Takes, Whatever It Wrecks", ukazał się w 2010 roku i był dla zespołu nowym otwarciem w odświeżonym składzie. Od tego czasu Schizma wydała jeszcze 2 świetnie przyjęte EPki "Dla Was" (2013) i "O Nas" (2017), na których powrócili do szczerych, zaangażowanych tekstów w języku polskim. "Upadek" to 12 nowych utworów będących naturalną kontynuacją dwóch wspomnianych EPek, jednak nie zabranie tu świeżych muzycznych patentów i nowej dawki frustracji na otaczający nas świat.

Today, Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Pulverised Records announce March 10th as the international release date for Astriferous' highly anticipated debut album, Pulsations From the Black Orb. Me Saco Un Ojo will handle the vinyl version while Pulverised will handle the CD version.

Two demos, one split, one MLP: these are the releases Astriferous have already left an impression with. But now, this Costa Rican death metal juggernaut is back with their full-length studio debut, Pulsations From the Black Orb.

Decay, despair, and bubbling rot come to the surface with the abhorrent opening piece. Setting a gargantuan monolith to crumble before us, the intensity is high even before we truly begin. Roaring vocals and meaty riffs stain the air as pummeling drums bludgeon the skull to smithereens. The raw and ineffably dark production is one that will immediately leave non-diehards running with their tails between their legs. But those who can hack the savage attack of the senses will hear some truly phenomenal, atmospheric, and yet unforgiving death metal that spews rot and hacks limbs while some cleverly placed riffs give a very uncomfortable ambience to the whole thing. The gripping and unique approach is delivered at high-tempos to ensure maximum damage while some gloomier passages give a rich, textured, and hauntingly ghastly dynamic to the record. Blending the cacophonous Finnish death metal titans of old with some South American deathrashing violence, Astriferous conjure an atmosphere and sound entirely of their own while reading from the ancient tomes of morbidity.

Firing on all cylinders, this record is an amalgamation of the band's best works. The doomy parts are more spectral than ever, the bestial aggression is unrivalled in savagery, and the progression as putrescent as one could dream of. Those who have followed the Astriferous journey can revel in the splendor that they have reached here with their best achievement to date. Already the only member of Mystagos, Heolstor returns with his other band, AT THE ALTAR OF THE HORNED GOD, an atypical and original project in which the Spanish musician has successfully harnessed the ritual metal of URFAUST and the Pan-centric black metal of ARCKANUM in a unique and unmistakable style. Rich in psychedelic and dark ambient/folk echoes in the manner of DEAD CAN DANCE, the music of “Heart Of Silence” continues in the atmospheric groove traced by the previous work (“Through Doors Of Moonlight”, 2020), but with greater emphasis on the black metal component and dark melodies that wrap the songs in a cosmic shroud of stars. Those of Heolstor are pagan hymns to the night and its silent ghosts, guardians who inhabit it and who dwell in the reflections of the moon, in the wind that shakes the trees of the wood, in the snakes that slither among their roots in the dark. It is the night of the human soul, alone and naked in front of a Nature that embraces us like a mother, now benevolent, now severe. SKRYING MIRROR zapowiada debiut na marzec

 

Artist, director and founding member of Ævangelist, Benighted in Sodom, Oblivion Gate, Obscuring Veil , Hex Arcana, Præternatura, Death Fetishist and countless other extreme and avant-garde metal projects, Matron Thorn returns to I, Voidhanger Records with his latest creation, SKRYING MIRROR. Accompanied by Kevin Yearout (Witchbones, Conduit Of Chaos) on vocals and Manuel Garcia (Blattaria, Ævangelist) on drums, Thorn formulates an industrial-tinged black/death metal that certainly takes its cue from Ævangelist's original sound and style, enriched however by musical experiences accumulated during the last decade. SKRYING MIRROR's long-distance debut is titled "Omnimalevolence" and is in all probability the most complete, mature and convincing artistic expression of the American musician, now stationed in Finland. And it is also the darkest and most violent, an inextricable jumble of electricity and wickedness held together by oppressive, asphyxiating rhythms. The songs follow without interruption, merging into each other to tell the descent into hell of a delusional, twisted and deviated mind. Although the atmosphere remains constantly dark and pernicious, SKRYING MIRROR manage to escape from the shallows of repetitiveness skillfully alternating powerful midtempos with vague melodic openings ("Temptress", "Intravenous") and sudden guitar convulsions ("Famine", "Lux ", "Abjurer"), without ever losing the compass and always marked by depression, despondency and humiliation. "Omnimalevolence" is the pain of living made into music, a train launched at full speed and derailing against our senses. No mercy for the listener... but the listener asks for none.

YAAROTH is the doom/progressive rock project of Dan Bell, an American musician and artist originally from Rochester, NY. In the past Bell has done some artwork for ORODRUIN and BLIZARO, but Bell is above all an extraordinary rock singer, a talented guitarist and a refined composer. Once known as YARROW, the band has recently been renamed YAAROTH and for the occasion Bell has reworked a promising demo from 2015 with Samuel Nells on drums. Enriched and expanded with unreleased chapters, it has become the intriguing debut of “The Man In The Wood,” an album of timeless rock music for our times which finds a further reason for its appeal in an amateur and underground recording. Everything revolves around the folk poetry of Dan Bell, sublimated in delicate melodies that gradually swell up to explode in uncontainable electric bacchanalia, without losing an ounce of elegance and melodic richness. Dan Bell is a new Pan who has replaced the flute with an imperious voice, which in terms of its breathtaking expressiveness and range even recalls those of Jim “The Doors” Morrison and the legendary Tim Buckley. No less intense is his writing, which – to simplify – combines English folk with Black Sabbath’s proto-doom and High Tide’s esoteric prog, reawakening long-dormant memories and sensations.

Finnish death metal band Of Spite releases their second full length album "Riddle Redemption" on March 31st 2023. The theme of the album is madness and twisted reality. Of Spite was founded in Finnish city Kotka in 2014 and they combine elements of 90's death metal and progressive rock in their sound.

No proszę… Minął nieco ponad rok od wydania „Gruzelement”, a tu Funeral Winds serwuje nam kolejnego pełniaka.  Widać po dłuższej przerwie w latach 2007-2018 Hellchrist Xul, czyli człowiek odpowiedzialny za ten bałagan w całości, rozkręcił się na dobre, złapał wiater w żagle, poczuł zew krwi, czy tam zwał jak zwał. No nagrywa systematycznie. Nic, tylko się cieszyć, bowiem black metal w jego wykonaniu jest faktycznie black metalem, a nie jakąś koślawą jego imitacją. (Czytaj dalej...)

Singiel z nowego STRAIGHT HATE

 

Chełmsko-lubelski STRAIGHT HATE prezentuje pierwszy singiel z nadchodzącej trzeciej płyty Slaves Of Falseness.

Premiera utworu Decay w postaci lyric video wyłącznie w serwisie muzycznym SOUNDRIVE.PL

Slaves Of Falseness to tytuł trzeciego pełnego krążka kapeli, który został nagrany w dwóch lokalizacjach: Roslyn Studio z producentem Krzysztofem Godyckim oraz we własnym studio zespołu, Sound Territory z basistą Przemysławem Bojarem, który odpowiada także za miks i mastering. Okładkę oraz całą oprawę graficzną wykonał Maciej Kamuda (Agathocles, Deivos, Parricide, Throneum).

Premiera albumu wyznaczona została na 10 marca 2023 roku w Selfmadegod Records.

Straight Hate – chełmsko/lubelska załoga grindcore/death, założona w 2008 roku. W 2014 roku zespół wydaje swoją debiutancką epkę Mental Disorder, oraz split tape z indonezyjskim Speedy Gonzales. W 2016 roku ukazuje się debiutancki album grupy Every Scum Is A Straight Arrow oraz split 7"EP, współdzielony z Neuropathią. Trzy lata później, powstaje druga płyta, zatytułowana Black Sheep Parade. W roku 2020 zostaje wydany split 7"EP z Nuclear Holocaust, East Grind Attack. Straight Hate z powodzeniem prezentował się na wielu koncertach i festiwalach w Polsce, Czechach oraz Litwie z kapelami zakorzenionymi w undergroundzie. Zespół zakończył właśnie pracę nad trzecim albumem Slaves Of Falseness, który wydany zostanie w marcu 2023 roku.

QWÄLEN wracają z nowym albumem

 

Following the success of their debut album "Unohdan sinut" (2021), Finnish black metal punks QWÄLEN will be releasing their second album, "Syvä Hiljaisuus", on March 10th 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

QWÄLEN became what it is in 2017. The band members share a passion for playing music in its various raw manifestations and their band backgrounds include Kürøishi, Nistikko, Dumathoin and Akma among many others. Punk background bleeds into the music connecting QWÄLEN’s interpretation of black metal into how the genre started decades ago. Simplicity, rawness, speed and honesty. These values were present in the beginning and the same values still hold true. Punk background especially shows live as the chaotic energy of hardcore punk clashes with the ritualistic nature of black metal.

Lyrical themes in the first album focused on self-portrayal, dealing with loss, building anew along with finding alternatives in abandonment, misanthropy and Satan. The second album ponders the sheep-like nature of humanity, the inevitability of destruction, the acceptance of being faulted and surrendering to a greater force.

The second album was recorded at Waiting Room recording studio in Tampere with Mikael Neves who has worked with the likes of Death Toll 80k and Tryer. Mikael also handled mixing duties. Mastering was done by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. The new album reflects QWÄLEN’s vision and world more clearly than ever. Like a dirty knife. Painful and infectious.

Singiel i zapowiedź nowego krążka AARA

 

Crowning their tripartite interpretation of 19th century Gothic novel "Melmoth The Wanderer" by Charles Robert Maturin, AARA present the concluding part of the Triade trilogy to be released via Debemur Morti Productions on March 31st. "Triade III: Nyx" is a succinctly elegant display of power and class, a paring down, tightening-up and condensation of the forceful yet nimble Black Metal style the band are renowned for. The Swiss group breathes life into the book's last chapters over six mesmerizing tracks:

Switzerland’s AARA was founded in 2018 by vocalist Fluss and multi-instrumentalist Berg to create art highly influenced by atmospheric Black Metal. Sporting an epic, classical feel, their sweeping compositions aim to take the listener through the darkest alleys of human existence.

Soon after releasing their debut record “So fallen alle Tempel” in early 2019, AARA joined forces with Debemur Morti Productions, releasing their mosaic EP “Anthropozän” that same year.

Barely a year after their debut, AARA unveiled a new full-length record in April of 2020. A conceptual look into Europe’s Age of Enlightenment, “En Ergô Einai” sees AARA take their accomplished sound to new heights of mature artistic expression. Opened with a haunting acoustic intro courtesy of Vindsval (BLUT AUS NORD), “En Ergô Einai” is a triumph of fluid melodic euphoria and classical elegance, setting an even higher watermark in a bright, young discography. The third album and beginning of a trilogy, namely "Triade I: Eos", was released in March 2021. In this epic and dramatic new work of art, AARA are interpreting the Gothic novel "Melmoth The Wanderer" (1820) of Irish writer Charles Robert Maturin.

Venturing forth into the next chapters of Maturin's work, AARA crafted the second part of their trilogy, "Triade II: Hemera". The six tracks of brutally melodic, top-tier Black Metal was released in May 2022. The third and final album of the Melmoth trilogy will see the light of day on March 31st, 2023.

Nowy album UNHOLY CRAFT za miesiąc

 

Today, Purity Through Fire announces February 27th as the international release date for  the striking second album of Norway's Unholy Craft, Naar All Tid er Omme, on CD format. The vinyl version will follow later this year, as will the band's chronological debut album via different underground labels.

Unholy Craft is the work of one Peregrinus, whose concurrent Solus Grief is newly initiated into the Purity Through Fire cult. Indeed, Unholy Craft play traditional, CULT black metal from ancient Scandinavia, taking influence from the obvious - Darkthrone's Peaceville trilogy, Hat-fronted Gorgoroth, the first Ancient album - to, more so, the very cult likes of Kvist, Sorhin, and Fimbulwinter. As such, the band's Naar All Tid er Omme debut is a veritable blast from the past, but one thankfully exuding personality and a freshness of approach. 

For one, Peregrinus' fully physical execution maintains a more blown-out rawness in line with the modern raw black metal scene. But, for another, that rawness doesn't mask a lack of ability. Far from it, actually: the mainman exudes equal skill on all instruments and puts those enviable chops to use across songwriting that keeps it traditional and yet puts interesting, almost-deviant twists to it along the way. In that sense, Unholy Craft's craft honors second-wave black metal's initial unorthodoxy, when most of its earliest bands each maintained their own approach - when the future lay wide open, as it were. That's in the past now, but Naar All Tid er Omme resurrects those glorious times with magickal ease and elan. Unholy Craft are coming to a church near you!
