Italian black-death metal punks THE END OF SIX THOUSAND YEARS have been mostly dormant since 2012's "Perpetuum", but have now come out of their long hibernation. The band returns with a new self-titled EP, which is slated for release via Hypershape Records on May 18th 2023.

On June 30th, Systemik Viølence will release their highly anticipated second album, Negative Mangel Attitude. RSR Records will release the vinyl LP version, Doomed Records and Ragingplanet will release the CD version, and Regulator Records and Ring Leader will release the cassette tape version.

Deported from the depths of Japanese hell with a stopover in Scandinavia, Systemik Viølence arrived in Portugal in 2016 with their demo in hand, Fuck as Punk. After demolishing some festival stages and leaving half the scene pissed off with their incendiary gigs, they attacked back in 2017 with two splits, with Rajoitus from Sweden and Dokuga from Oporto, as well as a full-length presentation, Satanarkist Attack. The Dis-GISM-Cimex worship continued in 2018 with the EP Anarquia-Violência, the fastest, most aggressive release by the band yet.

Now, after three years of silence, Systemik Viølence are back with a new lineup and a new album titled Negative Mangel Attitude. Encompassing ten tracks in a swift 'n' explosive 23 minutes, Negative Mangel Attitude unloads raw hardcore punk-metal pollution, spitting in the face of modern "punk" and uninspired metal. And yet, for however raw that attack is - in the sense of real, RAW emotion and urgency (no fake punch-in shit allowed here!) - Systemik Viølence's second album is actually quite well-recorded for the form, allowing all that crushing grit & grime to decisively bury the listener. It's a payoff that works in spades, much as later Anti-Cimex proved with such classics as Absolut Country of Sweden and especially Scandinavian Jawbreaker. In fact, those legends serve as a handy reference for the rarified ground Systemik Viølence are plowing here, as do Disgust, Warcollapse, Avskum, Uncurbed, and the almighty Driller Killer. "Into Dis-belief" you go - no posers allowed!

The Greek veterans of THE MAGUS have announced their debut album ‘Βυσσοδομώντας’, which will be released via The Circle Music records in October 2023. In celebration, THE MAGUS are now unveiling the cover artwork, which was created by Harnasash Singh, and further album details of ‘Βυσσοδομώντας’. All info can be found below.

The Magus comments on the album: “Harnasash’s art once again gave visual life to my hellish visions. His cover art fits perfectly to the album concept which is based on Lucifer’s disappointment and wrath upon mankind. I can only say that is the most organic album I ever made guiding all my black metal influences to a truly horrific, nightmarish path.

Dark melodies unite with feverish worlds to give birth to majestic, aristocratic horrors. We had the pleasure to work with artists like KING DUDE, IDVex (1/2 SOUTHERN NORTH) and Hel Pyre (W.E.B.) as guest vocalists in order to enhance the atmosphere and the ritualistic parts of the music. RANĂ zapowiadają album na czerwiec

 

German black metal punks RANĂ will be releasing their new album, "Richtfeuer", on June 16th 2023 via Breath Sun Bone Blood, making it the band's debut to the label.

With "Richtfeuer“ RANĂ returns at full force in collaboration with Breath Sun Bone Blood with their second full length album. The album’s title "Richtfeuer" translates to “Leading Fire” or “Beacon”, and that is exactly what this album does…. Leads us into the burning down of this world with the hope of building a better

one.

Four tracks of raging black metal punctuated with elements of d-beat driven neo-crust, chanted atmospheres, and mournfully oppressive doom, laced with melancholic guitar themes and vocal desperation.

Starting with the devastating and crushing power of the 11 minute opener "Läutern", RANĂ sets the course for the coming 40 minute despair riddled assault. "Flamura", the second track sets the tone with a more d-beat blackened crust tone which quickly deteriorates into furious blast beats… Desperation and urgency creating a feeling of relentless anxiety. The third track "Richtfeuer" opens with chanted vocals and mournful picked guitars that devolve into slabs of doom thrown at the listener, with heartbreaking melodic lines supported and then obliterated by black buzz. "Our Smouldering Grief / Im Brand", the album's final chapter (the first half also appeared on 2022’s "Black Metal Rainbows" Compilation) features melancholic guitar lines weaving in and out of hope and despair. Between life and death. The second half of the closing aural assault, “Im Brand", leaves the listener in a pile of ash and rubble, tripping over the remnants of the world and frameworks this album wishes to destroy. And deeply ingrained in the gut-wrenching grief of this album is a hopeless call to arms. A futile attempt to strive and rebel to find a crack in the circle…. And to find solace in potentially failing in the process, only to rise again, burning.

Beautiful. Utterly brutal.

Today, Norwegian instrumental alchemists Natt stream a special, professionally filmed & recorded live performance. Taking place in Bergen, Norway on February 10th, the 50-minute set comprises the band's critically acclaimed debut album, Natt - released this past January via Edged Circle Productions on vinyl LP format - performed in its entirety for the first time. Credits for the video and audio include live sound by Priscilla Navas and Kristoffer Fuzzen Jonsson; lighting designer is Thomas Birk; camera by Paul Johannessen and Ed Gobina; editing and mixing by René Misje; and color grade courtesy of Paul Johannessen. Natt is a new instrumental band from Bergen. The songwriters behind the music are René Misje (Krakow, Trust Us) and Roy Ole Førland (Lindy-Fay Hella, Kari Rueslåtten, Malignant Eternal); Misje handles guitars, bass, piano, clavinet, synthesizers, and percussion while Førland handles synthesizers. They are joined in the studio session by bassist Lord Bård and Enslaved drummer Iver Sandøy on drums and percussion.

Their first public work together, Natt is a three-song/45-minute album. Mesmerizing and at times manic but always magickal, Natt's music takes the listener on a journey through clean and calm atmospheres that are released in large sonorous, melodic, and heavy soundscapes. Like true mavericks, their music isn't easy to pigeonhole; across the album, one will hear post-rock, metal, and the progressive end of the scale. Simply, Natt must be experienced.

Although all-instrumental, Natt are still exceptionally evocative with their massive compositions. The titles of the three component tracks of Natt reflect the themes of resistance and challenges during a lifetime: "Skillevei," facing difficult choices; "Apell," asking for help, encouraging action; and "Etterslått," what you are left with, for better or worse. "We want the titles to give some hints for the interpretation of the picture, as well," state the band, "who is she, what has she been through, where is she going."

Gaze upon the gorgeous cover artwork by Nicholas O'Leary and you might begin to understand where you might go with Natt's debut album. The experience is wide-open.

In the autumn of 2019 came their acclaimed second album, When the Shadows Rise, a startlingly immersive gem of symphonic black metal, and many finally took notice. A year late came the 40-minute Behold Fortress Inferno, which poignantly expanded on their vast canvas despite "only" being a mini-album. Between these two records especially, The Kryptik proved that "symphonic black metal" need not be a dirty word; with no outside influence from the nowadays "black metal" scene, the duo dependably practiced their mystical arts and erected a grand citadel of sound - an atavistic awakening of when all was simply BLACK METAL, heedless of appellations.

And so it goes with The Kryptik's massive third album, A Journey to the Darkest Kingdom. Truly titled, the seven-track/70-minute A Journey to the Darkest Kingdom reveals the duo's grandest vision yet: neo-ancient symphonic black metal drenched in the dark waters of the cosmos, a castle of crystalline ice whose spires reach into boundless space. The band's ebon flow continually crests and cascades, synths swirling all about and with utterly magickal effect. The production here in this Darkest Kingdom is clear and sharp - all murk excised for maximum immersion, gorgeous swell, and pulsing violence - altogether sounding incredibly vintage and era-authentic yet somehow fresher than most nowadays black metal recordings. But, that magick largely resides in The Kryptik's songwriting, as each song is an epic in its own right and then are all threaded together as one fever dream: melodicism, majesty, and malice in perfect balance. Thus, A Journey to the Darkest Kingdom follows logically in The Kryptik's continuum whilst pushing their creativity to even-more-breathtaking heights. Have they delivered a classic on par with Witchcraft, The Sad Realm of the Stars, or even Stormblåst? Only time shall be the judge...

Singiel jest już dostępny na wszystkich platformach cyfrowych za pośrednictwem Transcending Obscurity Records i zawiera wersję live utworu „Hearts of Mercury”, który został nagrany podczas prezentacji Mercury Booking w Wilnie na Litwie w 2021 roku.

Mniej również u niego industrialnych i awangardowych naleciałości, ale nudzi równie skutecznie. FORMALIST is a supergroup featuring members of some Italian heavyweights bands such as FORGOTTEN TOMB [Ferdinando "HM" Marchisio - vocals], MALASANGRE [Riccardo Rossi - drums] and VISCERA/// [Michele Basso - guitars]

After the critically acclaimed “No One Will Shine Anymore” (2018), FORMALIST are now back and their aim is still one and the same: opening new gates of total sonic horrors.

The FORMALIST unit handles their weapons of sonic destruction with purpose and sadistic intent, here delivering some of the heaviest, most cacophonic and gloomiest Doom / Sludge Metal around, and featuring layers upon layers of rumbling noise, shrieking guitar feedback and desperate howls singing the end of a dying world.

The lyrics are a first person account tackling themes such as darkness, despair and social unrest, and narrating the world's downfall with an hallucinatory and yet detached style.

Terrifyingly suffocating and massively obscure slow music for the disenchanted.
