"Malignancy's new album, ...Discontinued, is a post-apocalyptic auditory assault on the listener from beginning to
end. ...Discontinued captures all the ingredients of what makes a great
extreme metal album. It's Thrashy, Grindy, Techy, and Brutal, all in one! Mixed
and mastered by one of the best, Lasse Lammert (Abigail Williams, Raven,
Alestorm, Acranius, among others), this is one for the books!"
- Malignancy
...Discontinued will be released on CD, vinyl, and digital forms on June 14 via Willowtip Records.
Danish /
Turkish Death Metallers Hyperdontia are back with their third album, Harvest
of Malevolence. As one of the forerunners in keeping old-school extremity
alive, this promises to be a savage listen.
The band
has unleashed a stream of the album's opening track, "Death's
Embrace." Listen now at youtu.be/nUeBGcYPcYo?si=UdzKrhTX_uG-wobI.
Harvest of Malevolence is set for release on June 21 via Dark Descent Records and Me Saco Un Ojo Records. The album will be available on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital formats.
Firing
on all cylinders from the get-go, their relentless brand of pulverizing guitars
and punishing drums with intricate bass lines cut only by monstrous vocals spew
forth. Monolithically mixed to grant us the most viscerally lacerating blows of
Death Metal might, those who salivate for true morbidity will revel in the
ecstatic putridity that immediately grips you. From the gut-wrenching rhythmic
torment to the phenomenal soloing, aside from sheer brutality, Hyperdontia have
technical abilities that far surpass most of their contemporaries while never
feeling obnoxious with their utilization. Some utterly mad bass guitar moments
or ripping solos show a band who clearly know their way around a fretboard
while the consistently savage drumming doesn’t let the rhythmic battery relent.
As we heard on their prior works; Hyperdontia are a confident and unforgiving
entity and that continues here.
Although
they are inarguably merciless and intense, there is such dynamic strength on
this new record from the maelstroms of grooves to the more otherworldly
sections, all tied together to plunge headlong into abhorrent chaos.
Barbaric and yet precise, each blow lands with ferocity and yet a cleverness to
every moment is present too. If you value Death Metal being of the highest
quality but without sacrificing the true macabre spirit of old, Hyperdontia is
the perfect middle ground and their new album showcases that formidably.
Promising a harvest of malevolence and ultimately delivering much more,
Hyperdontia decimate all in their pathway with some of their most violently
intense and cyclonic Death Metal to date.

Today, AOP Records announces July 26th as the international release date for ColdCell's highly anticipated fifth album, Age of Unreason, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
ColdCell were founded in 2012 in Basel, Switzerland and released their first album, Generation Abomination, during the following year. ColdCell are rooted in the Swiss underground black metal scene and have always been eager to deliver dark and atmospheric live shows. And although drummer aW concurrently plays in Swiss icons Schammasch, ColdCell put forward their own unique approach that melds both old and new schools of black metal, making for a highly personal expression both timeless and modern.
The impressions of the dark, eerie, and extreme are expressed within ColdCell's successive albums like Lowlife (2015), Those (2017), and The Greater Evil (2021). With their latest album, Age of Unreason, ColdCell now align with AOP Records and furthermore venture deeper into social abysses and explore the (un)reason of being. Their sound remains as challenging and unsettling as ever here, with equal emphasis placed on abyssal heft and ethereal atmosphere, slipstreaming violence and ominous trudge. While so many extreme metal albums trail off in a tide of unwavering familiarity, Age of Unreason reaches a crescendo at about the halfway point with "Meaningless," which features bewitching guest vocals by Swiss chanteuse Ines Brodbeck (aka INEZONA), and continues to spiral into cathartic delirium with the closing combo of "Sink Our Souls" and "Discord." During these three tracks in particular, the emotional core of ColdCell is on dazzlingly display, darkly exploring those corridors of the soul few dare to tread. In 47 minutes, Age of Unreason rips asunder and rearranges the template of orthodox black metal.
In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Dead to the World" HERE at AOP Records' official YouTube channel. Cover artwork, courtesy of Gian Andrea Signorell, and tracklisting are as follows:

Today, Dark Ages metallers Vendel premiere the new track "Out in the Fields" at heavily trafficked web-portal Metal.de. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Out in the Fields, set for international release on June 14th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Vendel's title track "Out in the Fields" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Vendel are an epic heavy metal band hailing from Moscow, formed in 2015 by a group of friends who are all members of the local metal community. From the onset, their inspiration was taken from genuine NWOBHM and ‘80s doom metal as well as the history and archeology of the Dark Ages period, which serves as the strongest influence on the band's lore and their attendant lyrical and visual concepts. This combination – with a particular emphasis on the epic side of heavy metal ala classic Candlemass, Manilla Road, and Viking-era Bathory as equally as contemporary doom informed by the likes of the UK’s Solistice and Russian heroes Scald – manifested in Vendel’s self-titled debut EP in 2017. Lyrically and aesthetically, there was a deep appreciation of the late Iron Age, also known as the "Vendel Era," and hence the band’s moniker. They followed up that EP with another one, titled Dirge, in 2019, which included one new track as well as covers of Manilla Road and Saint Vitus. Also in 2019, Vendel made their first live appearance outside Russia at the Riddle of Steel Fest, which made a huge impact on the band’s next activity.
Fans of the aforementioned as well as Solitude Aeternus, Atlantean Kodex, labelmates Megaton Sword, and even Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath, you are hereby commanded to bend the knee before Vendel’s Out in the Fields. NEVER SURRENDER!
