Swiss black metal act VÍGLJÓS have returned with a ferocious new single, "Claviceps", offering the first taste of their highly anticipated sophomore album, "Tome II - ignis sacer".

VÍGLJÓS sheds light on the track, commenting: "The story of humanity and Claviceps is one of creativity and pain. It reaches back to medieval times and possibly beyond. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated second album, De Nemesis Omnes et Omnia, set for international release on September 19th via Amor Fati Productions. Antiversum is a nihilistic entity that creates a disturbing and stormy amalgamation of black, doom, and death metal, manifesting the end of the universe and the dawn of nothingness in audial waves. Its journey into the void began in the spring of 2015, releasing the band's debut demo, Total Vacuum, to international acclaim, followed in 2017 by their first full-length, Cosmos Comedenti.

Antiversum now stretches the spaces between the void even further, lurking within with a menace that is truly unsettling. Antiversum once again exhibit mastery of nuance, texture, and detail; whereas so many bands otherwise branded "cosmic" or "cavernous" forsake songwriting for hazy / lazy texture, their compositions bend and break and billow forth reborn with a startling focus, a clarity that doesn't seek to obscure but rather to highlight (or blacklight?) the many miles of fathomless horror both above and below. "Après-midi Paranoïaque" is an ironically cheerful song that conceals unsettling French lyrics beneath its whimsical delivery. Today, Heidens Hart Records announces October 17th as the international release date for the long-awaited comeback album of Germany's Pest, Eternal Nightmares.

In 2014, German black metal institution Pest released Buried: as suggested by its title, an epitaph for the band, who had formed in 1997 and had dependably released four full-lengths during the preceding decade. Now, they return from the grave with one final full-length, fittingly titled Eternal Nightmares.

Big was the shock when Pest co-founder Mrok passed away in 2011, but inspiration was found a decade after and in his death. Rather than searching for a new drummer, founder Scum honored the legacy of Pest and Mrok took up drums himself again. Combined with his and co-founder Atax's characteristically hypnotic & haunting riffs, as well as input from new member Brandt, the resultant Eternal Nightmares truly sounds as if no time has passed since the early days - a veritable portrait of Dorian Gray, in decay. The maniacal vocals from Mr. Blasphemy and Atax still cut through your bones, raising hackles while the hypnosis washes over you. The storm of surging riffs are trance-inducing to the extreme yet ultra-aggressive in their ghostliness. Altogether with Pest's classic medieval weirdness already present on their demo and first albums, Eternal Nightmares solidifies the band's noble legacy and serves as a fitting epitaph...if they return to the grave once again.

For Pest, innovation means retrogression. This new album was still fully recorded and mixed by the band themselves in their rehearsal room, just as it was 25 years ago. It doesn't get more authentic than this: relive their Eternal Nightmares!

Hailing from North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s Sadistic Goatmessiah originally formed in 2013 but were mostly inactive until 2017. Back then, the band was a duo of vocalist / guitarist / bassist Morbid Goatpriest of Lust, Filth and Mayhem and drummer Goat Primator. As suggested by those nom de plumes and, of course, their very moniker itself, Sadistic Goatmessiah revel in sonic filth, as exemplified by their first couple demos, where a strong influence of the almighty Nifelheim and Australian blackthrash can be felt – and Japan’s legendary Sabbat, above all, which endures to this day. In 2021, bassist Goatess of Fire arrived, making the band a power-trio and driving that filth in a different-yet-parallel direction: speed metal with Hellhammer / Celtic Frost and Darkthrone influences and an unapologetic punk attitude (and still Sabbat!). Thereafter, four splits and a demo followed, fleshing out the Sadistic Goatmessiah sound before the inevitable debut album.

At last here, Violence is that first full-length, and its elegantly simple title says everything it should. Fast and deadly as the scythe of the reaper, Sadistic Goatmessiah here unload an arsenal of dungeonic speed metal steeped in the ancient and FUCK OFF, loose and lawless and deliberately raw as hot blood. Those aforementioned influences still remain, but the foremost one is of Sabbat, where eerie leads ride a galloping steed of filth, all reverbed to Hell and back, never feeling “retro” because the future never happened. For all the familiarity, the ten tracks comprising Violence work their malevolent magick due to Sadistic Goatmessiah’s off-the-rails execution: never faked, always full-on, fucking going for the throat and never letting up. As such, the album’s 40 minutes fly by in a flash, compelling repeat listeners just as you try to escape that very dungeon…the air above stinks, so might as well plummet back down to the filth! You want Violence? Sadistic Goatmessiah will give you fucking VIOLENCE!

Pagan Records has signed one of Poland's most original and long-running metal bands: Tenebris. Their new album, entitled “Kochanowski”, is already recorded and is scheduled for release this autumn.

A celebration of the album will take place at the Summer Dying Loud festival, where Tenebris will perform the new album in its entirety. This new record is a musical continuation of the ideas explored in their EP, “Legendarna”, while the album title references the Polish poet Jan Kochanowski.

Formed in Łódź, Poland in 1991, Tenebris is considered by many a cult Polish metal band. They began as a death metal act before incorporating progressive and jazz influences into their sound.

The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Damned Fallen Angels, set for international release on September 26th via Iron Bonehead Productions. Hailing from the oft-overlooked New England black / death underground, the four-pierce Cruentation possess an impressive resume of cult bands concurrent or prior: Witch Tomb / Impenitent Thief, Hirudenia, Cemetery Lights, Martyrvore, Ninnixu, and Embryonic Cryptopathia among many others. Those bands collectively defied the usual codified norms of the "underground" and struck deep into the heart of filth, whether it was strictly black metal, death metal, grindcore, or even thrash metal or noise; simply, the experience of righteous sonic defilement was paramount. And so it goes with Cruentation, who are now making their full-length debut after a trio of short-length releases.

Appropriately titled Damned Fallen Angels, Cruentation's debut album confronts and crushes with defiant zeal. This 10-track / 32-minute monolith soon becomes a soul-devouring abyss the second you press "play," existing somewhere between the most "deathened" black metal currently around or some of the most Satanic (and thus blackened) death metal birthed from the unholy legacy of Finland's Belial. Either way, the power-trio peel off one bestial pulse after another, moving with exceptionally tight execution and utterly devastating tone - no weak "raw" garage ones here - that thankfully all exudes a full-blooded physicality too often missing in these days of Bandcamp-only solo-projects. More that the sound itself, Cruentation excel at the art of songwriting: flowing and fluid, never ornate nor overly simplistic, and "catchy" in the sense of engaging the listener with an immediacy from beginning to end. In fact, with two members hailing from the pivotal Witch Tomb - who carried on Profanatica's sonic legacy while that band was on hiatus - it's not unjust to suggest that Damned Fallen Angels picks up where the short-lived Impenitent Thief left off. Feel the timeless wisdom of darkness!

Percussor returns to Horror Pain Gore Death Productions one last time, unleashing Remnants Of Horror: The Final Cut! Originally released in 2017 on a different label, the initial version didn’t quite capture the true feelings and atmosphere that was originally intended by the band. With the help of Mike Usifer (Prime Evil), Percussor has reopened this recording to bring the true vision and concept the third release truly deserved, and completing the full discography on HPGD.
