Hollow Moon: Precursor is the first release in a trilogy of EPs that will collectively comprise the band's first full-length album, Hollow Moon. Hollow Moon: Precursor is an evolution of Hellir’s atmosphere venturing into a broader range of sounds. With everything from extremely heavy break downs, electronic breaks, classical piano, and fusion, there’s a lot of new territory to explore. Or to boldly go where no one has gone before……

In describing "Firespray" for Invisible Oranges' video premiere this past May, Rhys Williams writes: "The song itself bobs back and forth from black metal into straight-up death-doom, and comes in strong and heavy with it, knocking the unprepared viewer off-guard with the contrast to the wholesomely whimsical visuals."
