Biography
Peruvian metal band formed in 2004, one of the first peruvian melodic metal band with female lead vocalist. Their major influences are gothic and power metal.
2004: Hamadria was formed by Hector Ilizarbe (drums), Miguel Cantuta (guitar), Lesly Soto (keyboards) and Cristian Gamboa (guitar). The goal was making a different style of metal band compared to other bands at that time. The first tracks were: “Reina Azul” (Blue Queen), “Susurro” (Whisper) and “Puertas Al Sol” (Doors To The Sun).
2005: This year Hamadría played in a major festival “Rockeate” in Ate Vitarte Lima and got a second place at “Molina Rock” contest. Also became invited to several other concerts and festivals in Lima.
2008: Hamadría did their first tour out of Lima. They traveled Ica and Huaraz where fans received them with great warmth.
2009: The first peruvian gothic metal fest took place in San Juan de Lurigancho and a documentary was filmed. Hamadría played as the main show.
2010: Hamadría did their first international tour travelling to La Paz (Bolivia) and other southern peruvian cities like Arequipa, Tacna, Puno and Juliaca. Also got nominated for the best revelation band in the spanish magazine FEMALEMETAL.COM, achieving the third place.
2011: Hamadría premiered their first official videoclip “Bajo La Luna” (Under the Moon) with Carlo “Hueso” as invited vocal from Chasca band.
2013: Hamadría returned to the scene with a new lead vocalist Clariza Aliaga and Stefany Checco on the keyboards. Along with original members Hamadría premiered their new videoclip “Libertad”. This single became part of a recopilatory album “Dinastia Inmortal 5to Acto”, produced by Vlad Landeros of Empalador Records of Mexico. Also got included on “Ladies First” a German recopilatory album produced by Metal del Mundo.
2014: Hamadría took a second break.
2018: Hamadría returned to the scene with a new videoclip “A La Sombra De Mi Alma”, a single from their fist album “Reina Azul”. Video directed by Hector Ilizarbe (band drummer) and produced by Lobo Films studio. Milagros Lopez Arias, winner at the ACE2018 New York awards as best actress, appeared in the video. Filming was done at “El Fortín de San Pedro de Carabayllo”, historic place where San Martín army stablished before arriving to Lima. On April 29th their debut album “Reina Azul” was released with 10 tracks fully recorded and mastered in Peru by the acclaimed peruvian metal producer Adolfo Gazzo. Hamadría one of the first peruvian metal band with female leading vocals returned to the metal scene.
