Recenzja Wells Valley „Achamoth”

 Wells Valley

„Achamoth”

Lavadome Prod. 2023

(Czytaj dalej...)

SCHEITAN z nowym kawałkiem

Scheitan premieres new gothic rock track “Fire at Dawn”

Lyric video to “Fire at Dawn” premiered via Side-Line Magazine today!

Stream the new single now via all digital platforms

Scheitan returns following 24-year hiatus

”Fire at Dawn” is the second single from the upcoming Scheitan album “Songs for the Gothic People” which will be released in Spring 2024 by Greek independent label The Circle Music. After a 24-year hiatus, Scheitan returns with new music digging further into the gothic vibe that was present on their 1999 album ”Nemesis”, released by Century Media Records.

The lyric video to “Fire at Dawn” was premiered today via Side-Line Magazine. Watch it here: https://www.side-line.com/swedish-dark-gothic-rock-act-scheitan-returns-after-24-years-and-premieres-new-lyric-video-fire-at-dawn-on-side-line/

“Fire at Dawn” is also now available on all digital platforms: https://linktr.ee/scheitan

Scheitan was formed in 1996 by Pierre Törnkvist (guitar/bass/vocals) together with Oscar Karlsson (drums). The duo started out as a black metal band but transformed during the musical journey into the fields of gothic/ambient rock. Both members had previous musical experience mainly from death & black metal such as The Moaning, Defleshed, The Everdawn and Gates of Ishtar to name a few and became to establish themselves as respected musicians in the 90s underground scene.

Scheitan released its first album Travelling in Ancient Times on Invasion Records in 1996. The album was an 8-track blast of intense black metal except for the last track Portals of Might which was a first indication of Scheitan wanting to explore other musical realms. The second album Berzerk 2000, also released on Invasion Records in 1998 was an album that was divided to say the least. The first 4 tracks showing a gothic/ambient Scheitan while the last 3 saw Scheitan bid a final farewell to its black metal roots. The first 4 tracks of Berzerk 2000 saw a digital re-release in 2021 as the Deathgoth EP.

Century Media signed the band after the contract with Invasion was finished and in 1999 the band recorded and released Nemesis. The musical style was now completely devoted to the gothic/ambient/dark domain except for the vocals of Pierre Törnkvist who were still kept in the harsh style that was present on earlier albums. The Nemesis album has in later days been hailed as a hidden gem and predecessor to many bands today with a similar style.
When it was time to write new Scheitan material after Nemesis both Pierre and Oscar felt that it did not fit into the project and therefore Helltrain was started, which is a completely different story.

Scheitan went on a 24-year hiatus but was brought back to life in 2023 with the single "Lost In Time", a gothic rock masterpiece in the veins of Sisters of Mercy, Fields of The Nephilim and The 69 Eyes. A few weeks prior to the release of the single “Lost in Time” Scheitan signed to Greek label The Circle Music and is set to release a full-length album in 2024.

Stockholm-based heavy metal band IGNITED has posted the video for "Cradle of the Wicked," the title track and third single from their upcoming new album.

Guitarist Dalton Castro details the concept behind "Cradle of the Wicked."

"This song delves into the human capacity to embrace their worst selves online, in a space where digital impulses and anonymity are intertwined, revealing the darkest facets of human behavior in today's world. Like distorting history and facts, fostering a culture of general denial, and utilizing humiliation as a tool for self-empowerment, particularly against those who share genuine knowledge. The title serves as an inspiration for individuals with such behavior, who appear to be multiplying every day, becoming increasingly psychologically violent and beastly just for their own pleasure."

(Czytaj dalej...)

Drugi album TODOMAL w listopadzie

Spanish dark metal entity TODOMAL will release their brooding sophomore full-length album, "A Greater Good", on November 24th 2023 via Ardua Music, today unveiling the record's cover art, tracklist and first video teaser. Watch it HERE.

TODOMAL is back with "A Greater Good", their new studio album. The Spanish duo, formed by Christopher B. Wildman and Javier Fernández (Asgaroth, Nexus 6, The Heretic, Dejadeath, etc.) brings a collection of "dark songs" (as they like to define it), which began with the seeds planted in "Ultracrepidarian", their debut album.

The band's music has evolved into a complex, dense, and unclassifiable album that takes us on a journey through somber landscapes, existential doubts, tragicomedy, and spiritual and personal unrest. "A Greater Good" poses challenging questions, wrapped in music that is sometimes dark and at other times luminous, spanning from slow-tempo to progressive rock to quasi-mystical litanies. The path they embarked upon with their debut album, leading to desolate landscapes and the emptiness of the plateau, has continued into darker territories, reminiscent of tenebrist altarpieces, where doubts about what is right or wrong, what we do in this world to earn redemption, or why we have a nefarious tendency to destroy what we love are depicted against a smoldering forest. The journey continues, despite the obstacles.

"A Greater Good" boasts ambitious production to accommodate all its elements, like pieces of a giant mosaic. Vocal harmonies, acoustic elements, and occasional orchestral arrangements blend with serpentine opera-rock pieces, making their way by clawing through the earth.

Once again, the voice of Teodora Gosheva, the collaboration of Darío Garrido on the Spanish guitar and the audio assistance of ESOTERIC's Greg Chandler complete the work.

Special mention goes to the album cover, created by the multifaceted Paloma Pájaro, who brilliantly and resolutely encapsulates everything mentioned above.

The sophomore album of this prolific space doom duo will no doubt appeal to fans of bands like CANDLEMASS, KRUX, PINK FLOYD, AVATARIUM and, we dare to say, old GHOST! Doom on!

Tracklist:

1. Silent Mass
2. High Time
3. Infero Tristi
4. Ultima Lucerna
5. Dust and Nothingness
6. Antichrist of Love
7. Loss
8. A Greater Good

EP-ka SUMMONING DEATH za miesiąc

Today, Chaos Records announces October 28th as the international release date for a brand-new EP from Summoning Death, A Traumatic Night of the Creeps, on CD and cassette tape formats.

Hailing from the always fertile Mexican death metal scene, Summoning Death began as a parallel project by Ricardo Gil (ex-Denial) and Francisco Aguilar (Shub Nigurath) in early 2010 with the idea of playing death-doom metal in the classic Swedish and Finnish veins. For a time, Ricardo moved to Querétaro, where he tries to rearm the band with Héctor and Iván from Question, but due to commitments of both, the project was buried until 2012 when Ricardo returned to Cancun and continued working with Francisco Aguilar/ After several lineup changes and after having recorded two demos - Cadaveric Environment (2014) and A Window From an Evil Place (2015) - they solidified their lineup as José (guitars), Ángel (drums), Carlos (bass and voice) , Ricardo (guitar), and Melina (live voice).

During 2021 and 2022, Summoning Death remained active on the live front. During this time, they dedicated themselves to recording songs for the compilation Serpeientes del Sur. This participation along with a couple of other songs in which the band were working on are part of their first official EP. Titled A Traumatic Night of The Creeps, the EP focuses themes seen in slasher films of the '80s, and comprises two new tracks - "Night of the Creeps" and "Halloween" - plus two covers: Traumatic's "The Morbid Act of a Sadistic Rape " and Edge of Sanity's "Darkday." A fun-yet-powerful short-length, A Traumatic Night of the Creeps encapsulates where Summoning Death are coming from and also where they're going, for they'll be recording their third album for Chaos Records around the time of this EP's release.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Night of the Creeps" HERE at Chaos Records' Bandcamp. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover artwork, courtesy of Raul Gonzalez Serrano, and tracklisting are as follows:

Debiut AZATHOTH'S DREAM w grudniu

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces December 8th as the international release date for Azathoth's Dream's striking debut album, Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment, on vinyl LP format.

Azathoth's Dream are a brand-new entity hailing from the United States. On one hand, the one-man band's sound is undeniably late '90s French vintage, maintaining a similarly necrotic-yet-aristocratic mysticism not unlike Osculum Infame, Bekhira, Winter Funeral, and very early Seth. On the other, one could liken Azathoth's Dream to the uprising of raw vampiric black metal in the U.S., spearheaded by Sanguine Relic, Vampirska, early Lamp of Murmuur, and Geist of Ouachita among others. Either way, one listen to the aptly titled Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment and one will be indeed bewitched by the band's melancholic-yet-feral spell...or duly repulsed by it. There's no other way; just like those stratifying days of the 1990s, you either understand this as BLACK METAL - and stand with it - or you stand against it. It matters not to Azathoth's Dream: the empty castle's drawbridge is down, and one need only enter if the spirits are willing.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "A Millennia Perished" HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Azathoth's Dream's Nocturnal Vampyric Bewitchment
A1 Malignant Faith

A4 The Moor
A5 Extinguish the Light

Iranian black metal act TRIVAX unveil “Eloah Burns Out”

Listen to the album now via Black Metal Promotion

Purchase the album via Cult Never Dies (UK & ROW store / EU store)

Ahead of its official release this Friday, Eastern Death Magick practitioners TRIVAX have unveiled their upcoming full-length opus, “Eloah Burns Out”, in a full album stream via Black Metal Promotion.

Listen to the album now via Black Metal Promotion: https://youtu.be/ZrVlbXLm0JQ?si=5-d_y2B_INj-_4PE

The band commented: “The final result of a long and hard process, which saw TRIVAX transform, develop and shape into what it is today. This is without a doubt our most sincere and powerful expression yet!

“Eloah Burns Out”, a concept album which tells the story of Death, will be released on 29 September 2023 via UK-based publishing house and record label, Cult Never Dies. The album will be available in CD, 12” LP, cassette and digital formats and can be ordered via the label’s webstore (UK & ROW store / EU store).

Formed by guitarist and vocalist Shayan, Trivax began life in the late 2000s in the perhaps unexpected location of Iran, a country whose laws regarding music – and especially black metal – have led to punishment, imprisonment and even death. Relocating to the UK, Shayan found a like-minded ally in bassist Sully, who had similarly left Syria due to facing imprisonment for his metal associations. Completing this power trio was talented British native M. Croton, a drummer with many years of experience under his belt.

Nowy song od SAVAGE

Today, Bavarian mean metallers Savage premiere the new track "Glory Riders" at the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) YouTube channel. The track is the third to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Glory Riders, set for international release on October 20th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Savage's title track "Glory Riders" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Bavaria, Savage formed in 2019 and promptly began solidifying their aesthetic. Then a trio, Savage’s sound remained firmly within the 1980s, and specifically on the darker and more dangerous side of the Sunset Strip – namely W.A.S.P. and early Mötley Crüe. The first sinful fruit was borne with their self-titled debut EP, which was recorded at the end of 2021 and then self-released during the following summer. Strictly DIY from mixing and mastering to promotion and distribution, Savage showed that Savage had the fire already raging: word of mouth spread worldwide, the record nearly sold out, and work had already begun on their debut full-length!

Now with the addition of rhythm guitarist Alex “Axel” Warrior, Savage have at least developed into the (fuck-like-a) beast they always aimed for, and are prepared to deliver a bound-to-be-classic debut album: Glory Riders. Almost presciently titled, Glory Riders soon becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy of dirty and raw metal – or, as the band rightly liken it, MEAN HEAVY METAL. From sound and spirit on down to production and overall attitude, Savage have the sleaziest side of classic American metal down COLD…or, should that be “fiery”? Indeed, even with the categorically cruising mid-tempo at which they move, Savage positively ooze energy every single second here; hooks and heaviness take equal weight, and there’s just the right amount of spaciousness here (ala W.A.S.P.’s nigh-untouchable opening trio of albums) to lend moodiness and mystery to the band’s stadium-ready bravura. Neither flashy nor rudimentary, Glory Riders is simply stripped-down and muscular where it needs to be, keeping emphasis on the songwriting (and solos!) and letting Savage’s irresistible attitude take hold.

Without hyperbole, Savage have hereby thrown down the gauntlet for any band, ever, attempting to invoke the sound & spirit of the aforementioned glory years of W.A.S.P., and Mötley Crüe. Further references include classic Twisted Sister, early Lizzy Borden, Halloween, Impaler, and even Coup d’état-era Plasmatics, but one listen to Glory Riders and you’ll be convinced that these still-young gods are the REAL fucking DEAL!

Winylowe wznowienie ROT "Baphomet"

Atlanta (GA) - Boris Records has unleashed "Baphomet" on Bandcamp, a previously unreleased track from the label's forthcoming vinyl reissue of ROT's Diabolus (The Unholy Rot): Demo #1 1990. Jump into the abyss at:

Way back in 1990, a quartet by the name of ROT released a demo tape entitled, Diabolus (The Unholy Rot): Demo #1 1990, one of the most strikingly raw and guttural death metal recordings to ever come from the Atlanta scene. That tape has lain obscurity for more than 33 years, existing only as a grainy video buried deep on the Internet.

Now, Boris Records is proud to announce the first official vinyl release of Diabolus (The Unholy Rot): Demo #1 1990 on October 6. The album includes ROT’s original four-song demo EP remastered, along with two previously unreleased cuts, “Baphomet” and “Violent Beast” (rehearsal), as well as a live show from 1991.

The album also includes a recently unearthed live recording, and an in-depth biography from John Mincemoyer (printed on 11x11 insert), packed with dozens of never-seen-before photos, illustrating the countless hurdles and seemingly insurmountable odds the group faced during their short but fiery existence.

The remastered title track is available to stream at:

Split GRABUNHOLD / CIRCLE OF SHADOWS na początku grudnia

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions announces December 8th as the international release date for Lamentationen, a special split album between Grabunhold and Circle of Shadows, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Bringing together two black metal hordes from the Olde World, Lamentationen features three exclusive tracks each from Germany's Grabunhold and Austria's Circle of Shadows. Those who follow the evil deeds of Iron Bonehead should be well aware of Grabunhold by now, having released an EP in 2019 and the successive Heldentod debut full-length in 2021 (and, most recently, a reissue of the band's first demo). Keeping their swords aloft, the Germans continue to mine their medieval black metal with care, craft, and charisma. But the plaintive lament "Lebewol" should induce chills as their half comes to a close.

Circle of Shadows, for their part, comprise a member from the well-respected Transilvania, and although they've been around a decade, their discography to date includes all short-lengths. Nevertheless, with their trio of tracks here do they whip forth a rustic style of black metal that's equal parts icy surge and triumphant march - pagan by proxy rather than "pagan black metal" by cliche. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Grabunhold / Circle of Shadows' Lamentationen
Grabunhold:
1. Caras Galadhorn
2. Der Zorn der zwei Türme
3. Lebewohl
Circle of Shadows:
1. Draugluin
2. Tol-in-Graurhoth – Mein Fluch ist schwarzer Segen
3. Nine Ghosts

SÜHNOPFER has since built up a discography of three demos, an EP ("L’Aube des Trépassés", 2007) and 3 full-length albums: "Nos Sombres Chapelles" (2010), and the resounding "Offertoire", released at the end of 2014, as well as "Hic Regnant Borbonii Manes" (2019).

SÜHNOPFER delivers a violent medieval and melodic atmosphere, with themes dealing with a medieval, knightly, obscurantist and religious dimension, by adding typical aspects of his powerful and glorious homeland.

KALT VINDUR składa hołd słowiańskim przodkom singlem i wideo „Żywioły”

Kalt Vindur, najnowszy zespół wydawcy The Cicle Music, wydał kolejny singiel i wideo z nadchodzącego trzeciego dzieła „Magna Mater”. Teledysk do utworu „Żywioły” miał dziś premierę za pośrednictwem No Clean Singing.

Następnie do Kalt Vindur dołączył gitarzysta Marcin (Ver) aby uzupełnić skład koncertowy, wkrótce potym został stałym członkiem zespołu.

Pierwszy album zespołu to sześć kompozycji osadzonych w klimacie progresywnego black metalu, charakteryzującego się klimatem Podkarpacia, którego wyrazem są melodie i agresywne rytmy. Tematyka tekstów obejmuje zmagania człowieka z wewnętrznymi demonami, słabościami, a także wydarzenia związane z historią Podkarpacia, takie jak wyniszczające bitwy II wojny światowej, śmierć, zniszczenie i cierpienie.

W 2020 roku nakładem Witching Hour Productions ukazała się druga płyta zatytułowana „...And Nothing Is Endless”, na której zespół dalej rozwijał swój styl i potwierdził unikalny charakter podkarpackiego black metalu.

Lublin
18 listopada - Muzyczna Meta, Częstochowa
