„To Find Deliverance”

Awakening Rec. 2022

Dziś do wspomnianych powyżej dołącza Species. (Czytaj dalej...)

EP-ka QRIXKUOR do odsłuchu

Emerging from the serpentine susurrus left in the wake of last year’s monstrous two-part epic Poison Palinopsia, Qrixkuor swiftly rise again to present a new EP titled Zoetrope - a single black arrow of death sent straight to the heart of the world - now set to be released on CD and tape formats on December 2nd, joined in darkness again by Invictus Productions in Europe and Dark Descent Records in the USA, with the vinyl version to follow in mid-2023. And today, esteemed cultural journal Bardo Methodology streams the EP in its entirety. Hear Qrixkuor's Zoetrope in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Zoetrope is an ode to the terror of the cyclic infinite - the endless, silent scream of a mind that has wandered so far that it cannot return. The soul that burns on everlasting, each thousand-year journey the mere blink of an eye. There is no escape…

(Czytaj dalej...)

NOCTURNAL DEPARTURE zapowiadają nowy album

Today, Hells Headbangers announces December 30th as the international release date for Nocturnal Departure's highly anticipated third album, Clandestine Theurgy, on CD and cassette tape formats. The vinyl version will follow next year.

Canada's Nocturnal Departure were birthed from yellow moonlit darkness between Beltane and Lughnasadh of 2017 into a campaign of rejection and disgust for Christendom and the hypocritical norms of society. Nocturnal Departure redirect the psychomachia of the human condition through ritual and occultism, focusing it outwards as the moon gathers and reflects light from the sun, with raw and illuminating indifference. After releasing their debut album, Cathartic Black Rituals, and follow-up Worm Moon Sessions on cult underground imprints Death Kvlt Productions and Les Fleurs du Mal, founding members Funeror (guitar/vocals), Kryptys (drums), and Illartha (bass) are joined by new guitarist Necrogeist in grim occlusion with Hells Headbangers. The band's first crime for the label (and third) overall, Clandestine Theurgy, features this bolstered lineup and brings forth the band's most focused statement to date.

Almost literally a band out of time, Nocturnal Departure harken to the grim days of the '90s black metal underground, particularly its most devout sectors in the United States. While once the object of mockery from the ignorant despite featuring some of the most original and unorthodox outliers, it's USBM that has the last laugh, as the idiom has developed over the decades and still rings true in the darkest of hearts. Nocturnal Departure encapsulate this mood and era in its most perfect, poignant form on Clandestine Theurgy. Featuring gloriously macabre cover art created by Abomination Hammer, indeed, its title is something of a rallying cry for such hearts - "those who know, know," as the adage goes - and its raw, desperate violence evinces elements of Judas Iscariot, Masochist, Black Funeral, Summon, and Blood Storm but undeniably with a personality all its own. TRADITIONAL black metal, then, no more but definitely no less: Clandestine Theurgy is a throwback masterclass.

In the meantime, hear the previously revealed track "Ceremonial Storm" HERE at Hells Headbangers' official YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

Rok zakończy nowy album SATANIC WARMSTER

Today, Werewolf Records announces December 30th as the international release date for Satanic Warmaster's long-awaited sixth album, Aamongandr, on CD and cassette tape formats. The vinyl LP version will follow next year.

Satanic Warmaster needs no introduction. Since the band's formation in 1998, founder Werwolf has prolifically - and provocatively - stoked fires that refuse to be quenched. A totally independent artist in all aspects, Satanic Warmaster has sold hundreds of thousands of albums internationally and played stages all across the world, from north to south and east to west. The band's black metal is devoutly traditional but eternally fruitful, standing as an immovable monument to the purest and proudest foundations of the artform. As such, Satanic Warmaster is hated and loved with equally strong passion, with those naysayers only feeding that fire with falsehoods and gross misconceptions. There is no middle ground: no apologies, and no surrender.

And so the battle continues with Aamongandr, Satanic Warmaster's first studio full-length since 2014's acclaimed Fimbulwinter. Indeed, where that album evinced a diversity of songcraft and, more so, a concertedly polished aspect that majestically made that obsidian gleam, Aamongandr explores that duality with equally compelling results. In fact, with the album wasting no time in kicking into high gear, Satanic Warmaster sounds more urgent than ever - and yet, here is where the band's epic side is also revealed in full. Cryogenic and caressing is its melodicism, in the glare of burning churches, and deftly dusted with subtle synths that heighten the mysticism at the heart of the SW sound, Aamongandr's six songs charge forth with the grim grandiosity of mighty steeds; not for nothing is one of the album's highlights titled "Duke's Ride (Ride of the Spectral Hooves)." All told, this sixth long-form statement of intent is immediately recognizable as Satanic Warmaster but irrevocably proves that its creator's imagination continues to flow as infinitely as the Atlantean depths.

Malignant Voices 2022

Piołun… Kurwa, serio?

(Czytaj dalej...)

Formed in Denver in 2020 and featuring extreme metal journeyman Ivan Alcala (Nexhymn, Throcult, Serberus, etc), LACERATED injects its compositions with anti-trend acidity. Debiut NATT w styczniu

Today, Edged Circle Productions announces January 20th, 2023 as the international release date for the striking debut album of Norway's Natt, self-titled Natt, on vinyl LP format.

Natt is a new instrumental band from Bergen. The songwriters behind the music are René Misje (Krakow, Trust Us) and Roy Ole Førland (Lindy-Fay Hella, Kari Rueslåtten, Malignant Eternal); Misje handles guitars, bass, piano, clavinet, synthesizers, and percussion while Førland handles synthesizers. They are joined in the studio session by bassist Lord Bård and Enslaved drummer Iver Sandøy on drums and percussion.

Their first public work together, Natt is a three-song/45-minute album. Mesmerizing and at times manic but always magickal, Natt's music takes the listener on a journey through clean and calm atmospheres that are released in large sonorous, melodic, and heavy soundscapes. Like true mavericks, their music isn't easy to pigeonhole; across the album, one will hear post-rock, metal, and the progressive end of the scale. Simply, Natt must be experienced.

Although all-instrumental, Natt are still exceptionally evocative with their massive compositions. The titles of the three component tracks of Natt reflect the themes of resistance and challenges during a lifetime: "Skillevei," facing difficult choices; "Apell," asking for help, encouraging action; and "Etterslått," what you are left with, for better or worse. "We want the titles to give some hints for the interpretation of the picture, as well," state the band, "who is she, what has she been through, where is she going."

Gaze upon the gorgeous cover artwork by Nicholas O'Leary and you might begin to understand where you might go with Natt's debut album. The experience is wide-open.

Open up with the brand-new track "Etterslått" HERE at Edged Circle's Bandcamp, where the album can also be preordered. Also see & hear a special 4K trailer for the album HERE at Edged Circle's official YouTube channel. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

„Assault to the Coffin”

Fallen Temple 2022

Zespół to młody, bo mający w dorobku jedynie promo z początku dwudziestego pierwszego roku. „Assault to the Coffin” zawiera z kolei oba zawarte na nim numery, plus dwa nowe. Debiut GRAVA do odsłuchu

Danish sludge metallers GRAVA are gearing up for the release of their new album "Weight of a God", which will be coming out on November 28th 2022 via Aesthetic Death.

Everything Is Noise is now hosting an exclusive premiere of the record. Stream it at THIS LOCATION.

Songs seen through the eyes of the dying.

GRAVA spew forth a maelstrom of angst-ridden, emotive sludge – which emanates from a hardcore foundation and mentality.

Sludge heaviness, hardcore intensity – bleak desperation. Short tracks, that just sound dense, blackened and ugly - which are written and delivered with a real soul – just one that has been emptied of colour and hope. Amidst the blunt brutality there are brief interjections, moments of paradoxical beauty. Soon extinguished.

Every song on the album is an attempt to portray a human being's meeting with death. Inspired by historical narratives but also by happenings closer to the band, actively pursuing those moments through their music and lyrics. The resulting music has been expressive, fragmented and painful - you will find no complete narrative in the lyrics or musical structure, only the bits and pieces of the world.... as seen through the eyes of the dying.

“Weight of a God” is not an easy experience. It takes time to ingest and come to terms with the album. However, anyone who takes the time to become at one with these tracks will discover an album which urges repeated listening.

LP + MC versions to be released through Danish label VinylTroll.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark – GRAVA only formed in 2020 but feature ex-members of Whelm amongst their skilled personnel.

PHANTOM FIRE anonsuje nowy album na marzec

Today, Edged Circle Productions announces March 3rd, 2023 as the international release date for Phantom Fire's highly anticipated second album, Eminente Lucifer Libertad. In lieu of this announcement, the video for brand-new single "De Taptes Dans" is revealed. Directed by Slick Iverson, Andreas Lindborg & Mattias Wold and produced by Varde Film, see & hear Phantom Fire's "De Taptes Dans" video in its entirety HERE at Edged Circle's official YouTube channel. It was but May 2021 when a brand-new entity burst from Bergen, Norway, bearing the all-too-apropos moniker Phantom Fire. With members hailing from such bands as Gaahls Wyrd and Krakow, the duo surprisingly went a different route with their debut EP, Return of the Goat. Hard-rocking, hard-charging, reeking of rust and diesel, Phantom Fire proved they were their own band removed from any sort of lineal references. Better yet, perhaps, they were just getting started and already promised a debut full-length...which arrived a mere seven months later, bearing the title The Bust of Beelzebub. Flexing the same chops and some new ones, Phantom Fire's first full-length poignantly displayed a timeless HEAVY METAL magick, salaciously spanning pitch-black speed metal and moody epic metal alike. Not for nothing did the record reap widespread acclaim.

And now, little more than a year later, Phantom Fire are ready to REAP again with their second album, Eminente Lucifer Libertad. Masterfully so, the duo keep their core sound intact and yet show palpable new sides of it across this slightly longer and daresay-stronger record. Keeping schizophrenia at bay and working with a sinuous flow that's anything but jarring, Phantom Fire both ride the lightning of all-out speed here as often as they moodily march to pagan vastlands, sometimes all in the span of the same song. It results in a rowdier listen but also one that's stoic or even ceremonial; the chill of the tundra coats all of Eminente Lucifer Libertad, and so does the burning light of Lucifer (up)rising from beneath. "As above, so below," or so it goes: a Nordic heavy metal vomit party that turns into a Viking funeral, all on some cosmic dimension? The manner in which Eminente Lucifer Libertad moves is absolutely crucial here, as it's truly the epitome of an Album Experience; pieces could be moved, sure, but the track order is key in conveying Phantom Fire's ever-growing artistry.

Once again, Nifelheim's beloved Hellbutcher provides suitably twisted cover artwork for the album, and Enslaved's Iver Sandøy not only handled session drums, but also the album's production, mix, and mastering at Solslottet Studio. Free your mind and your demon wings will follow with Phantom Fire's Eminente Lucifer Libertad!

In the meantime, see & hear the brand-new video for "De Taptes Dans" HERE at Edged Circle's official YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE at Edged Circle's Bandcamp. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

Mag został powołany do życia w 2018 roku w Toruniu. Zespół łączy ciężkie riffy, z black metalowym szaleństwem, przyprawiając to wszystko odrobiną klimatu occult rocka, a z powstałej mieszanki zlepia swoją interpretację doom metalu.

Video od THE SUN'S BLACKSMITH

Today we present “Saulės Kalvis” (‘The Sun's Blacksmith’), the first single from “Alkai”: the fourth album of Lithuanian ritualistic dark-folk project Vėlių Namai, due for release on January 20, 2023. “Alkai” serves as an open invitation to experience the mystical world of the Baltics - to feel the sacredness of its ancient past.

Watch & listen to “Saulės Kalvis” here:

“Alkai” is the fourth album of Lithuanian ritualistic dark-folk project Vėlių Namai. It serves as an open invitation to experience the mystical world of the Baltics - to feel the sacredness of its ancient past.

Draped in a sonic tapestry woven from a great variety of musical traditions, the listener is sent off on a hypnotic flight of the imagination. Ceremonial chanting and droning folk parts give way to a kind of otherworldly, trance-inducing techno performed with mostly organic instruments. As with the radically different music styles, digital and analogue sounds are fused together seamlessly. Pulsating minimalism merges with vocals and shamanic percussion to create a hypnotic soundscape coated by mesmerizing melodies played on guitars, lutes, and ethnic string instruments such as the Turkish baglama, Lithuanian kanklės and Latvian giga. This ambitious concoction boils down to an exquisite brew infused in equal parts with Dead Can Dance, Wardruna, Sigur Ros, and various electronic music.

“Alkai” will be released by Nordvis on CD-digipak and digital, January 20, 2023. The album features guest appearances by Espen Winther of Eldrim, Swedish-Serbian composer Petar Mrdjen, and prominent Lithuanian singer Liucija Nanartavičiūtė. Cover artwork by Joan Llopis Doménech.
