This year, the fortress will welcome BEWITCHED with their "pre-thrash black metal", occult thrash/black Mortuary Drape, and pure evil at top speed from Poland's Totenmesse. Also coming for the first time - from America huntress of darkness Emma Ruth Rundle, from Australia instrumental djent trio The Omnific, and from Belgium progressive stoners MY DILIGENCE. Returning to the brutal stages will be avant-garde jazz-black IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, sophisticated Sylosis, and folk-black-death trolls Finntroll.

Deathmetalowy update

Brutal Assault has announced 84 % of the lineup! LAIBACH will be back on the Brutal stage, NEW MODEL ARMY, and JULIE CHRISTMAS will be coming for the first time. HATEBREED will celebrate their thirtieth year on stage, and other core acts will join them.

We are expanding the line-up with three "Obscure" names. This year, Laibach will return to the fortress with their special Opus Dei + The Greatest Hymns set. For the first time, English post rock punk rebels New Model Army and Julie Christmas, former Battle of Mice/ Made Out Of Babies singer, known especially for her collaboration with Cult of Luna, will play on the Brutal Assault stage. Hardcore

Hatebreed will come to the fortress to celebrate thirty years of their existence! Along with them, the core line-up is going to be expanded with French grind Blockheads Grindcore, core with a Western twist from SpiritWorld, and with Humanity's Last Breath, modern post-apocalyptics.

Brutal Assault introduces 23 new bands, reaching 70 % of the complete line-up!

Death metal classics CARCASS will return to the Fortress after five years. Together with them, you can look forward to a proper toxic brutal death metal charge from CYTOTOXIN. From Belgium will come death/goregrind hurricane ABORTED, and from Sweden DARK TRANQUILLITY with their signature Gothenburg melodic death metal. The imaginary death metal circle will be closed by apocalypse riders VLTIMAS.

American ESCUELA GRIND will unleash grindcore chaos, followed by American MISERY INDEX and ROTTEN SOUND with their death-grind mixes. The destruction will conclude with PIG DESTROYER, who rightfully rank among the most respected grindcore bands.

The black metal scene will be represented by the American AKHLYS, the underground acclaimed YELLOW EYES, and the folk psychedelic HEXVESSEL.

From the gothic scene, Brutal will welcome the popular industrial DEATHSARS and the post-punk-tinged UNTO OTHERS. From the dark swamps will come Finnish melodic KALMAH, and from overseas will come heavy-rock-metal SOIL. CYNIC, the American "tech metallers" will bring a special Focus set for a re-release of their iconic debut album. The 8-bit computer MASTER BOOT RECORD or the brutally honest post-hardcore SVALBARD will deliver their original perspective on music.

Get ready to jump into the moshpit for a good dose of hardcore, as MADBALL will return to BA after six years. Also performing for the first time at BA will be the established CANCER BATS, SHOW ME THE BODY with their unique and innovative musical identity, or THIS IS HELL, metal punk freaks known for their intense and energetic live performances.

After last year's excellent performance, we'll do it again. Masters of the field Deicide will take care of the mischief, along with them the technically proficient Canadian Cryptopsy will take Brutal by storm and Obscura will add a tinge of technical melo death.

The death metal gore carnage will be taken care of by Severe Torture as befits this Dutch band.

Here are the seven names of American thrash metal that will take the stage at Brutal Assault 2024! Inevitably, the batch of thrash was bound to come, so we're announcing seven bands of the American wave. Four big names who have been involved in the formation of this genre will be coming from California - namely Testament, Exodus, Armored Saint and SADUS. The younger blood will be represented by Colorado's HAVOK , multi-instrumentalist Joel Grind's Toxic Holocaust and Czech-American Laid to Waste.

Brutal Sabbath is here, bringing a wave of 12 black metal bands!

The blackest wave of black metal will undoubtedly be brought by the act whose name - ABBATH -Official- performs IMMORTAL - speaks for itself.

All fans of the dark genre will also be delighted by HELLHAMMER performed by Tom Gabriel Warrior's Triumph Of Death

Norway's strongest wave will also bring the underground cult TULUS, Khold true to the oldschool black metal essence, the avant-grade DHG/Dødheimsgard Official and the experimental line bringing Ved Buens Ende

The line-up will be strengthened by Irish Primordial with their latest album of traditionally mission waters black and celtic metal polemicising the apocalypse, or also the finest rebels Impaled Nazarene

From the Pacific Northwest will come melodic black metal represented by UADA and dark ritual on stage will be presented by Devil Master.

Representing the alliance of the Italian multi-instrumentalist and the Norwegian voice will be the band Darvaza and the whole list will be refreshed by heavy/doom/stoner classics Grand Magus.

Before we announce the next round of new bands on Tuesday, we have a special bonus for you today. They haven't performed live in five years, and haven't appeared in the Fortress since 2016. They've always forged their own unique path to the previously unexpressed. And since they have a new album scheduled for May 2024, it's clear that we have to have them at Brutal 2024. Norwegian icon Satyricon in the summer after 8 years in the Fortress!

Second line-up addition brings strong returns! After a decade, we humbly welcome the mournful kings MY DYING BRIDE and the Swedish deathers VOMITORY. Next summer TERRORIZER will be playing one of the most iconic grindcore records "World Downfall", with Pete Sandoval and David Vincent! Other returns to the fortress are JINJER, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT and INCANTATION, while NECROT and the progressive BORN OF OSIRIS will make their Brutal debuts.
