EP-ka GOM JABBAR na początku czerwca

 


Gom Jabbar is the solo project of Scottish musician Joseph E. Kelly, whom you may know for his brutal main band, the rude death metalers Penny Coffin, a band that could have emerged in the late eighties from the same breeding ground as legends like Winter, Disembowelment, Necro Schizma or the gods Lord of Putrefaction, but is now doing so, in the midst of the 21st century, to remind us that doom metal can (and should) sound damn rough, unhealthy and abrasive...

As you’ll see, we're dealing with a truly remarkable project, where the primal and primitive death doom metal we were discussing is taken to the farthest extreme with absolutely abrasive and distorted production, layered with noise, industrial sounds, featuring hypnotic atmospheric passages loaded with spectral samples and vocal lines that push the boundaries of extremity, depraved and utterly corrupted...

This collection of demos, presented under the title Obsidian Black Carrion, gathers the first three rituals of Gom Jabbar, three true alchemical transmutations of highly personal death doom metal deeply rooted in the old and rugged sound of masters like Disembowelment, Old Funeral or (early) Morgion, with striking experimental touches reminiscent of Portal, Encoffination or Spectral Voice...
