Today, Caligari Records announces January 30th, 2026 as the international release date for Citrinitas' striking debut demo, Unending Descent, on cassette tape format.
Cold and alone, Unending Descent is the public debut of Finland's Citrinitas. The three-song / 13-minute recording was captured in 2025 in Oulu, North Ostrobothnia at the dawn of spiritual and emotional independence...and that's the extent of the information the label has received about this mysterious entity. And indeed, based on sonic merit alone, that's all the wary listener needs: crumbling and decaying, almost voyeuristic in its exercise of multi-layered meltdown at the nexus of fucked death metal, even-more-fucked doom, and outsider black metal. In more spiritual terms, Unending Descent reveals and binds the soul, turning salvation into eternal wounding; you will FEEL this, or you will simply feel empty or disturbed or maybe even repulsed. There is no middle ground with Citrinitas, whatever person or persons are behind this project. Futile attempts of ascent will eventually collapse souls inward.
