PAGANIZER is a Death Metal band from Sweden formed from the ashes of Terminal Grip, first band of Rogga Johansson where he recorded two demos in '94 & '95, but it wasn't until 1998 when PAGANIZER recorded its first demo "Stormfire" and a year later their debut album.

LUGUBRIOUS GARMENT emerges as the latest creation of Milan-based multi-instrumentalist and relentless sound explorer Gabriele Gramaglia (Cosmic Putrefaction, Vertebra Atlantis, Turris Eburnea, among others). Conceived in the spring of 2025, the project was born out of an urge to channel a more brutal, ravenous instinct compared to Gramaglia’s other ventures, giving shape to a merciless yet dynamic form of extreme metal.

The first demo, set for release on October 31st, 2025 via Nuclear Winter Records, consists of three tracks forged in a gritty, thick production entirely handled by Gramaglia himself. Across its span, the recording showcases fast, annihilating death metal infused with the raw energy of black and speed metal, a sonic onslaught that balances resolute aggression with moments of unsettling variation.

Adding further intensity to the project, session drummer Claudio Invidia (Defacement, Devoid of Thought) contributes relentless percussion, underpinning a surge of scorching riffs, despairing screams and merciless rhythmic assaults. The result is a wall of sound that makes no compromises, embodying Gramaglia’s vision of feral, unchained heaviness.

Today, French black metallers Hyver reveal the new track "Shaâtaunoâr." The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated third album, Shaâtaunoâr, set for international release on November 25th via Antiq. The new Hyver album is a concept album in which YOU are the hero. Arriving before a castle, you are offered choices in arborescent paths, giving you the opportunity to actually choose the rooms in which you wish to wander. In Shaâtaunoâr, there is only one goal for you: escape! To exit this horrible castle, you have to make wise choices and find the path to the outside. The choices of music are dungeon synth interludes with the story told by either Virginie Ropars (French sculptress and artist, who does the English version) or David Thiérrée (French version, illustrator and painter). When entering to a room, the music becomes a fierce and epic blend of dungeon synth and black metal to describe you the rooms in which you wander.

Antiq is a label dedicated to the fully coherent concept of making music through sound, image, video, and attitude. They have been putting their entire existence into it since 2009. Over the years, Antiq have been identified as producers of not only perfectly coherent lyrics and themes through music, but also conceptual art and, of course, the manufacturing of beautiful objects. The label tries as much as it can to work with French creators, and if possible, with the smallest and most serious structures.

Although Visceral Evisceration probably didn’t have access to the same medical pathology textbooks Carcass did, the lyrical spirit is the same. Primarily interested in dismemberment, cannibalism and more dismemberment, they can barely be distinguished from Regurgitate, Vomitory or the aforementioned Carcass in their early, glory days. If one only reads the lyric sheet and not listens to the music, that is.

This is one of the oddest, most compelling and most hauntingly beautiful Metal recordings one will ever encounter. Simply put, this is exquisite Doom Metal in the finest musical tradition of Paradise Lost, Winter and My Dying Bride. Slow coursing riffs fleshed out with crystalline lead guitar, acrobatic drumming, clean and growled male vocals, and one of the most arresting and gorgeously throated female vocalists extant, mesh to create an enticing atmosphere of paradoxical beauty.

How can one even reconcile the juxtaposition of such tremendous Doom beauty with the morbid overload of grotesque imagery that graces this band’s words? In the end, there is no reconciliation possible. One must simply experience this band and recognize that they forged their own way and then bulldozed the results to obliteration so that nobody could ever follow their demented path. Certainly you have never heard another band being anything like this.

This one has everything the Doom aficionado could ask for. It’s slow. It’s heavy. It’s plodding. It’s melodic.

This album was released in 1994 and has become a rarity since then. There is a lot of demand for it and the World screamed for a vinyl edition, so we heard the call. If you want to hear something that is truly different, this is the release for you.

Evoken’s Funeral Doom/Death Metal debut EP remastered and reissued! Raw, bleak and essential!

Doom Metal, perhaps the most varied of all the metal genres, has been crossing over with plenty of other genres, and surprisingly often, the crossbreeding has been fertile. While the “funeral” brand of Doom Metal sounds like something that lacks the genetics to successfully breed with other metal genres, its nihilism works surpringly well when blended with slowed down Death Metal. Among the masters of that gruesome fusion are Evoken from the United States.

“Shades of Night Descending”is the first recording by Evoken, released in 1994, and for a debut recording, it is a surprisingly mature creation. The later works of Evoken have a thicker wall of sound and plenty of production tricks in them, but the deviations from the basic formula introduced here have been essentially more polishing that actual rethinking of the format.

Perhaps the music is of the same Funeral Death/Doom Metal variety as found on the later albums, all the way to the excellent “Antithesis of Light” and “A Caress of the Void”, but the unrefined production on “Shades of Night Descending”, with its barren character and almost heavy-handedly echoing soundscape, brings out the nihilism of funeral doom more effectively than the more professional production jobs of the later albums. The atmosphere on this recording is bleaker, even less forgiving, and perhaps even more desperate and repulsive in a positive sense than what can be found on “A Caress of the Void”. Even the considerably melodic guitar part in “Towers of Frozen Dusk” and other sweeter spots on the demo have a taste of ash and feel of pumice in them; Evoken walks on a musical lava field here, and manages to paint the true meaning of funeral doom in slow Death Metal colours on the canvas.

Brazilian Death Metal band VERTEBRA, formed back in 1994, have just launched a lyric-video of the song "The Same" which gives title to their recently released debut album "The Same" which was released on July 29th through Xtreem Music on CD & Digital formats.

VERTEBRA formed in Porto Alegre back in 1994, releasing their only official demo, "Humanity," in '95 and that same year recording another demo that remained unreleased but contains tracks that became the fundamental basis for their debut album 30 years later. VERTEBRA's style is a melodic Death Metal with a certain technical feel, heavily influenced by DEATH, with touches of bands like KREATOR, CARCASS, SLAYER... and classic Heavy Metal.

Specjalna "siódemka" od GODKILLER

 

Following the 2022 compilation "We Are The Black Knights" — which gathered together the seminal early demos of cult Monaco band GODKILLER — we can announce a long-awaited physical release for the final medieval Black Metal composition written by mainman Duke Satanaël.

Originally intended as a stylistic pointer towards the band's debut full-length, the raw, otherworldly and enthralling track 'The End of the World' was recorded in 1997 and only ever featured on "In Decay We Trust Vol.1", a 1998 CD-only compilation issued by Avantgarde Music/Wounded Love Records.

This piece of Black Metal history now emerges from the shadows in honour of the artist's original vision, as a special 7" vinyl edition accompanied by an exclusive t-shirt design. Cover artwork and t-shirt done by Anastasiia Istomina.

To młoda brygada, która uformowała się w tym roku, ale wydaje mi się, że grają razem trochę dłużej, bo żeby skomponować taki, dość sprawnie poprowadzony black metal, albo trzeba w grupie poćwiczyć, albo posiadać szczególny talent. As an initiation into this mind-manglingly intense and progressive work, LYCHGATE unveil a key piece as first single. With intelligent, labyrinthine songwriting and suffocatingly dense production, 'Hive of Parasites' is an unsettling blend of grandeur and decay.

'Hive of Parasites' stands as the centrepiece — and longest track — of our forthcoming album "Precipice". Lyrically, it delves into the record's core inspiration: E.M. Forster's "The Machine Stops". Musically, the piece unfolds like a descent and resurgence — beginning in calm, brooding contemplation before erupting into passages that are rapid, atmospheric, and at times violently intense. Following a climactic crescendo, the track sinks back into an introspective, hypnotic trance, only to reveal a final twist on an earlier theme.

Wznowienie AKHLYS "Supplication"

 

Oneiric Black Metal powerhouse AKHLYS just concluded the Age of Phobetor European tour, once again conjuring the shadowed majesty of acclaimed 2024 opus, "House of the Black Geminus."

The seeds of the band's visionary sound were sown in 2009 via debut album "Supplication", a solo work of Horror Ambient from mainman Naas Alcameth (NIGHTBRINGER). This trance-inducing, deeply personal record evokes spiritual and mythic nightmare through haunting synthscapes, ominous sound design, spectral vocal invocations and ritualistic percussion — a 37-minute descent into the sacred depths of dream and dread.

Now subject to a 2025 DMP CD/vinyl reissue - which includes reworked Art by Chthonia (also responsible for haunting recent AKHLYS videos) – "Supplication" is crucial to the modern AKHLYS sound, its tortured dreamworld underpinning the occult Black Metal psychosis of subsequent records from the now fully-fledged band: 2015 modern classic "The Dreaming I", 2020's unstoppable "Melinoë" and latest oneiric masterpiece, 2024's "House of the Black Geminus".

MARTRÖÐ zapowiadają debiut

 

Icelandic/US Black Metal entity MARTRÖÐ – surrounding core members A.P. (SKÁPHE) and H.V. (WORMLUST) – proudly announce their debut album will be released on December 12th. Following up sole previous release, 2016's lauded "Transmutation of Wounds" EP, the band's inaugural full-length "Draumsýnir eldsins" ("Dream Visions of the Fire") blazes through four transcendent, maniacal tracks that revel in organised chaos and infernal surrealism, as swarming Black Metal bludgeon meets avant-Classical and psychotropic noise.

"Draumsýnir eldsins" was written and recorded between 2022 and 2025 at MSK01/02. Simón Da Silva (AVERSIO HUMANITATIS) took care of mixing and mastering at The Empty Hall Studio. The cover artwork was designed by Kristína Þrá.

As an induction into the fevered maelstrom of "Draumsýnir eldsins", MARTRÖÐ unveil the album's opening track, 'Sköpunin', as its first and only single. This maniacal piece perfectly captures the record's essence via ominous, unrelenting and densely-composed avant Black Metal with a hallucinogenic edge.
