Recenzja Barbaric Oath „Sword, Sorcery, Vengeance”

 Barbaric Oath

„Sword, Sorcery, Vengeance”

Caligari Rec. 2026

(Czytaj dalej...)

Me Saco Un Ojo 2026

(Czytaj dalej...)

Zapowiedź trzeciej płyty XORSIST

Hailing from the hallowed city that birthed classic death metal acts such as Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed, Stockholm, Sweden’s Xorsist stand firm as torchbearers of the city’s enduring death metal legacy. Since their formation, the band have forged a sound deeply rooted in the raw, uncompromising tradition of old school Swedish death metal while steadily sharpening their own identity within the genre.

Following their self-released debut album Deadly Possession in 2022 and their second full-length At the Somber Steps of Serenity (Prosthetic Records) in 2023, Xorsist built a formidable track record that earned them a growing reputation within the Swedish underground and beyond. Founded by Gustav Ryderfelt (vocals and guitar) and later solidified with Birk Castenmalm (vocals and bass) and Alphonse Bouquelon (drums), the band’s core sound balances deep reverence for tradition with a focused drive toward progression.

Now signed to Hammerheart Records, Xorsist prepare to unleash their third album called Aberrations, slated for release in April 2026. While their earlier recordings honored the path that defined the classic Stockholm sound, Aberrations marks a decisive step forward, eclipsing everything that came before it and presenting a clearer, more defined expression of the band’s musical vision. With this new chapter, Xorsist continue to carry the Swedish death metal torch into darker territory!

Track-list:
1. Rest Impending
2. Souls to Mourn
3. Draped in Sorrow’s Cloth...
4. An Elegy Unfolds
5. Of Where I Reside
6. Faceless
7. His Shrouded Gaze
8. ...And Aged in Embers
9. Disbelief
10. Memorial Cries

Nowy DOEDSVAGR za miesiąc

Forged in the Nordic underground, Doedsvangr have carved a singular path through the black metal landscape since their inception in 2014. Conceived by frontman Doedsadmiral as an outlet for uncompromising brutality and creative vision, the band quickly assembled a formidable lineup, drawing members from the ranks of Nordjevel and other storied acts.

The name Doedsvangr, meaning both "fields of death" and "dead womb", serves as a fitting harbinger of the band’s sonic and thematic intent; to explore the bleakest corners of existence with unflinching honesty and raw power.

Doedsvangr’s journey began with the critically acclaimed debut Satan Ov Suns (2017), a record that seamlessly fused the atmospheres of Finnish and Norwegian black metal. In 2019, a new line-up was established, ushering in a new era of creative exploration. The following year saw the release of Serpents Ov Old, an album that deepened the band’s reputation for delivering eccentric, visceral black metal. The band’s live presence grew with a powerful release show in Oslo, joined by Blood Red Throne, Svarttjern and appearances at various festivals. In October 2022, the EP Koinonia was unleashed, further cementing their legacy.

Now, in 2026, Doedsvangr enter a new chapter with their third full-length album Within The Flesh, set for release this spring via Soulseller Records. Hailed by Doedsadmiral as their "most bizarre and raw album to date", Within The Flesh promises a relentless journey. Unusual, eccentric, and uncompromising.

Track-list:
1. Devil Bites Man
2. Black Sun Dissolution
3. Omnipath
4. Within The Flesh
5. Blodskam
6. The Pentagram Upon My Mouth
7. Rites Of Thorns, Rise Of Flesh

Godz ov War zapowiadają nowy NECROMORBID

Nowy DODSWENS w kwietniu

Doodswens is a Dutch black metal band, forged in 2017 by I. The name translates to 'Deathwish' but its true meaning is heavier; Not giving up, but returning with power after looking the end in the eye.

Live, I. performs drums and vocals as one, a single body split into rhythm and invocation. She is joined by R. and P. on bass and guitar. R.I.P. is a line-up that moves like a blade; precise, violent, and locked in. Their shows are as ceremonial as confrontational. Doodswens doesn’t soothe; it exposes. Bring your demons and they will be named. Bring your grief and it will be heard. Whatever you carry into the room is dragged into the light because this band chooses confrontation over comfort, every time. Blood, bones, bullets, flame, skull, sweat: not props, but real artifacts of the rite. A full-body experience with sound, smell, vision and vibration which is meant to pull you under and return you a changed person.

After rising through the Dutch underground, Doodswens gained an international following through tours alongside Marduk and Gorgoroth. In 2021 they entered the chaos of the pandemic era on their first Massive Music run, supporting Marduk and Valkyria between lockdowns when venues were closing behind them and the world was unstable. But their will was unbroken. In 2024, on the Marduk/Origin tour, I. made the impossible possible; taking on lead vocals while remaining the drummer. With only months to prepare, she cut out all doubts and locked herself into rehearsal. The result? She carried Doodswens across 30 shows back-to-back, barely losing her voice.

Doodswens was recorded and produced by Sebastiaan van Bijlevelt at Galloway Studio and mastered by Alex McCullough (who re-mastered Dolly Parton's Backwoods Barbie) at True East Mastering.

If you’ve been close to ending your life, or if you think about it more often than you admit, then you know what it is to live with a death wish. It’s weight. A grey cloud that follows you everywhere, depriving you of your breath and blurring your sight. It’s almost impossible to explain to anyone who hasn’t been inside it. Doodswens isn’t an album about giving up. It’s about what happens when you stop looking away. About meeting death face to face and coming back with strength. Not because the darkness disappears, but because you learn how to carry it without letting it own you.

The heart of Doodswens is not the wish for death, but the death of the wish, the breaking of a curse. A taboo spoken aloud. A darkness worn on the chest, not as pride, but as truth: "This is what I feel, and I will not hide it."

Track-list:
1: Driven by Death
2: Verrot
3: The Black Flame
4: These Wounds Never Healed
5: She Carries the Curse
6: Devils Stone
7: Vlaamse Vloek

Po kilku latach koncertowej nieobecności Satyricon ruszył pełną parą, ponownie zdobył sceny największych festiwali w Europie i wyruszył w trasę w towarzystwie Behemoth i Rotting Christ.
Smarujcie gardła i do zobaczenia we wrześniu!
Ich ostatni album “The Shape Of Fluidity” wybił zespół na wyżyny popularności wśród ludzi świadomie słuchających muzyki.
Lubicie eksperymenty muzyczne?

Today, Amor Fati Productions in conspiracy with Feral Heart Productions announce April 30th as the international release date for Oldowan Gash's highly anticipated second album, 1000 Dreams of War. Amor Fati will handle the CD and vinyl versions while Feral Heart will handle the cassette version.

Oldowan Gash released their first attacks on the underground in 2018 via two simultaneously released tapes - both of which were compiled on CD and LP last year. This early material showcased the ferocity & vitality that distinguished Oldowan Gash apart from their peers. The band made their live debut in 2019 supporting the likes of Bone Awl, Cirrhus, Profanatica, Sortilegia, Malignant Altar, and Mephitic Corpse. In 2020, the band’s aptly titled debut album, Hubris Unchained, cemented Oldowan Gash in a category of their own making: fiery and infectious riffing, desperate howls, and an arrogantly bitter attitude.

Now, six years later, mainman Forlorn Spirit returns with 1000 Dreams of War. Joined here by session drummer Longinus, Oldowan Gash proceed to build upon the noble spirit of its full-length predecessor, harnessing that characteristic desperation into something statelier and stealthier. Coldest fury runs rampant across 1000 Dreams of War - understandably, given the album's title and attendant themes - but Forlorn Spirit's riffing is ramped up to an enviable degree, remaining black metal at its core but now emitting a wider wealth of sensations and textures. To be sure, the melancholy-cum-triumph that so earmarked Hubris Unchained anchors this sophomore album, but more often than not, that foundation is somewhat reversed: triumphant at the beginning of the march / surge, only to give away to melancholy or at least grim resignation. Simply witness the blanching 14-minute closer, "Fighting Forever"...

Austere and yet deceptively kaleidoscopic, Oldowan Gash's development is linear and betrays a palette far more developed than their strident black metal purity suggests. Further completing the totality of 1000 Dreams of War is the rich 'n' rounded mastering courtesy of Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony as well as the vivid and utterly perfect cover artwork courtesy of Rada Niță, who also contributes the back cover art and six additional pieces for the liner. Hear the battle cries for those possessed by the spiritual war...

IN REMEMBRANCE OF A PAST WE CAN’T GET BACK
AND LAMENT FOR A FUTURE WE NEVER HAD
WE LONG FOR THE HILLS TO TURN BLACK
AND WISH FOR THE RIVERS TO RUN RED
A THOUSAND DREAMS OF WAR
ONE DAY IT WON'T JUST BE IN MY HEAD

SPARAGMOS: pre-order reedycji "Error"

Mastering materiału przeprowadził w 2026 roku Filip Heinrich Hałucha w Heinrich House Studio, nadając klasycznym nagraniom z 1993/1994 roku nowe, znacznie bardziej klarowne i dynamiczne brzmienie, przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu surowej, organicznej duszy lat 90.

Eklektyczne połączenie death metalu, thrashu, technicznych zagrywek, powerowych refrenów, rozbudowanej melodii i eksperymentalnych struktur wyprzedzało ówczesne standardy gatunku. Recenzenci często porównywali album do kultowego Spheres holenderskiego Pestilence.

W lutym 1992 roku kwartet wszedł do stołecznego studia Power Play, aby zarejestrować materiał na swój pierwszy longplay Invitation From Host Of Wrath. Zespół zaczął też pracę nad drugim longplayem, zatytułowanym Error. Materiał nagrany został z nowym perkusistą Krzysztofem Bentkowskim. Zespół funkcjonował do 2002 roku.

Singiel NIGHT SPECTRE

On May 22nd internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release Night Spectre's striking debut album, Night Spectre, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today, Deaf Forever magazine's website premieres the new track "Death Contract." Hear Night Spectre's "Death Contract" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Night Spectre was forged in 2024, when a group of stubborn metalheads united with one goal: to unleash pure old-school heavy metal, burning with passion and true devotion. From the very beginning, the band’s vision was clear – to compose, rehearse, and record the strongest debut possible before stepping into the world. After relentless dedication and countless hours of hard work, Night Spectre’s self-titled debut album is finally ready to be revealed.

Comprising eight tracks in 45 minutes, Night Spectre roars across the full spectrum of heavy metal, with straightforward songwriting channeling the essential roots of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and the NWOBHM scene through the U.S. steel of bands like Riot and Jag Panzer to the epic grandeur of Manowar, Bathory, and Manilla Road. At times, Night Spectre’s attack – be it march, gallop, stomp, or surge – sounds like all those bands at once and then like nothing else entirely; to be sure, there’s some strange magick brewing in their cauldron. Which underlines how important that songwriting is, that what you bring to a tradition and then build upon is what actually makes such tradition so vital – and in this sense, Night Spectre exude a wisdom far beyond their still-young years as a band. Lyrically, the album delves into themes of occult fantasies, historical heroes dying fighting, horror movies, and defiance of societal norms, all with an overarching atmosphere of classic swords & sorcery.

Completed by powerful production – gleaming and clear but not without blood or grit, highlighting the heroism and bravado so central to their sound – Night Spectre’s self-titled debut is a bold first statement: delivered with reverence, under the band’s vision of raw, rebellious, and untamed HEAVY METAL.

Nowy TÅRFÖDD końcem miesiąca

Today, Purity Through Fire announces March 28th as the international release date for Tårfödd's highly anticipated sixth album, Mörker täcker livets ljus, on CD format.

Since their formation in 2022, Sweden's Tårfödd have become a prolific force in the DSBM scene. With five full-lengths to date as well as nine singles, two EPs, and a couple collaborative records, mainman Simon Lindgren is a man possessed: supreme melancholy, bittersweet majesty, Technicolor textures, and soul-draining emotion have all become his stock in trade. And while it's not often that Purity Through Fire steps into depressive black metal waters, the label made an exception in 2025 for the release of Lidande.

Now, with the band's whole catalog available under the banner of Purity Through Fire, Lindgren returns with Tårfödd's sixth full-length, Mörker täcker livets ljus. It seems only fitting that the equally prolific Revenant (Sarkrista, Order of Nosferat, Siechknecht, Velmorth et. al.) contributes his characteristically tortured vocals to five of the album's nine tracks, sealing that bloodpact with Purity Through Fire perfectly and sending the 62-minute album deeper into sublime misery. Indeed, Lindgren reaches new heights / depths of catharsis here, utilizing his unfailingly deft layering - cold riffing, transcendent leads, heartbroken piano, and almost-effortless shifting of tempo - to penetrate even the blackest of hearts, but always with an acute understanding that this is BLACK METAL first of all. Perhaps the best way to understand Tårfödd is to immerse oneself in the undulating waves of bittersweet bliss that is Mörker täcker livets ljus' title track; time evaporates as you willfully drown in this obsidian-yet-shimmering sorrow, all before the nine-minute song (cathartically) downshifts to a truly beautiful ethereal segment and then brings that bittersweetness home for its conclusion. Ruin your day over and over again!

Podwójna recenzja Via Doloris „Guerre et Paix”

 Via Doloris

„Guerre et Paix”

Season of Mist 2026

(Czytaj dalej...)

Nowy WITCHING HOUR w maju

On May 22nd internationally, Dying Victims Productions will release the highly anticipated fourth album of Germany's Witching Hour, Descending... Where Time Has Ceased to Exist, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today, Deaf Forever magazine's website premieres the new track "The Graves Yearn for the Dead." Hear Witching Hour's "The Graves Yearn for the Dead" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

It’s been a long, strange trip for Witching Hour. Formed in 2006 in the southwest of Germany, the band’s earliest work tended toward paradigmatic blackthrash, particularly the Teutonic iteration of it. And while releases have been patiently sparse during that time, they’ve been of uniformly high quality, all leading up to 2018’s pivotal third album, …And Silent Grief Shadows the Passing Moon. Here, Witching Hour staked their claim as some of thrash metal’s strongest songwriters with a narrative flow that was almost dream-like and a sound quite elevated from their humble beginnings. A career highpoint, to be sure, but silence then ensued…

So it goes with Witching Hour, patience is rewarded with their long-awaited fourth album, Descending… Where Time Has Ceased to Exist. Much like its towering predecessor, Descending… comprises five epic tracks (plus instrumental intro) and, this time, exceeds the length by two minutes for a total of 44: a journey indeed awaits. In fact, the band recorded, mixed, and mastered the album at Journey into Eternity Studios, which is owned by drummer Sascha Bastian.

Ancient metal mysticism is the atmosphere that cloaks Witching Hour’s fourth album like ethereal chainmail. The grit of its predecessor has been slightly shined to a rustic gleam, of sorts, as the songwriting suitably grows more diversified and complex – and, even more uniquely, possessing a paradox of density and spaciousness. As each composition winds and wends on paths that are alternately mysterious, gloomy, and triumphant, the power-trio gallop with a confidence that’s compelling to the extreme; the narrative flow is more fluid than ever, drawing the listener deeper into the all-encompassing experience. That their riffing has grown even more (gloomily) melodic and the leads burn brighter than before simply underlines the band’s traditional metal foundations, particularly that of the NWOBHM.

To summarize and say that Descending… Where Time Has Ceased to Exist marries prog-rock structures to ancient heavy metal riffing & melody and draped in the atmosphere of pioneering German thrash and earliest black metal only explains half the brilliance of Witching Hour at this juncture – but it’ll perhaps encourage you to begin that journey!

Recenzja Belith „Hounds of Hell”

 Belith

„Hounds of Hell”

Godz ov War 2026

Oho!

(Czytaj dalej...)

KÕDU wracają z nowym krążkiem

On April 25th internationally, Antiq is proud to present Kõdu's highly anticipated second album, Kirjad Sõgedate Külast.

Kõdu’s second full-length, Kirjad Sõgedate Külast is a concept album that unfolds as a collection of letters from a forgotten village on the brink of collapse. Through tales of drought, famine, a decaying royal bloodline sustained by inbreeding, and a murder mystery set at the turn of a century, the record paints a bleak portrait of isolation, superstition, and moral rot. Each song functions as a written testimony, revealing fragments of the village's fate from different perspectives.

Remaining true to Kõdu's ethos, all lyrics are performed in Estonian and are drawn from the works of Estonian poets active between 1850 and 1950, grounding the album deeply in local language and literary tradition. The visual identity is drawn from a 1913 artwork by Estonian artist Nikolai Triik. Kirjad Sõgedate Külast stands as a unified narrative work—rooted in black metal tradition, yet driven by storytelling and cultural memory.

Antiq is a label dedicated to the fully coherent concept of making music through sound, image, video, and attitude. They have been putting their entire existence into it since 2009. Over the years, Antiq have been identified as producers of not only perfectly coherent lyrics and themes through music, but also conceptual art and, of course, the manufacturing of beautiful objects. The label tries as much as it can to work with French creators, and if possible, with the smallest and most serious structures.

Trzeci SICARIUS w kwietniu

On April 10th internationally, Adirondack Black Mass is proud to present Sicarius' highly anticipated third album, Nex, on CD and cassette tape formats.

SI_CA_RI_US
Latin. “Assassin, Murderer Dagger-Man, Slayer. Killer”

Formed in early 2014 by Argyris and Carnage, the idea behind Sicarius was to embody the fury and violent spirit of black metal. Drawing heavy inspiration from the artists of first- and second-wave acts from Scandinavia, Greece, and the US, Sicarius inject their potent cocktail of black metal with elements of American aggression like thrash, death metal, goth, and rock.

The five-piece lineup would be rounded out with original drummer Brandon Zackey (Whitechapel) and would release a demo in 2015 titled Scorch the Earth and, following that, would perform locally throughout all of 2016 until entering the studio with Mick Kenney (Kordhel, Anaal Nathrakh, Motionless in White, Bleeding Through), where the band would record their debut album, Serenade of Slitting Throats. Released through M-Theory Audio, Serenade of Slitting Throats was met with positive critical acclaim from fans and publications alike. Metal Hammer, Outburn, Invisible Oranges, and several others showered the record with praise, with New Noise magazine stating, "the band doesn’t simply re-tread over the very worn path; they blaze forward with the flags of their forefathers held high. That is what makes this fantastic album so special."

Sicarius would continue traversing this upward trajectory, performing with acts like 1349, Goatwhore, Vader, Marduk, Disgorge, and Incantation and traveling across the country and regions in Mexico.

In 2018, co-founder Argyris would step away to focus on his education and personal life, while the band would carry on with a replacement on guitar and enter the studio once again with producer Mick Kenney to record God of Dead Roots. This sophomore album would be released on M-Theory Audio during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the album was received positively by fans and critics, it would essentially signal the end of the band.

Over the course of the next few years, the band would lose their original lineup, with Brandon leaving to pursue his career with deathcore legends Whitechapel and the rest either leaving or being removed. Sicarius was dead.

It would be at this point, after six years, Argyris and Carnage would reconnect and rebuild the dead organism known as Sicarius.

In 2024, the two would write and begin recording their long-awaited third album, Nex: a gritty and ultraviolent crime drama of an album, pulling influences from bands like Bathory, Rotting Christ, Dissection, Mayhem, Urghehal, Marduk, Absu, and fusing in elements from groups like Type O Negative. It would be here that Sicarius would welcome new vocalist Akefalos to the lineup, where his soaring vocal style would make its debut, replacing longtime vocalist K. Karcass.

Sicarius also contributed to a split released at the end of 2024 called We’ll Meet You Where the Ravens Circle with SoCal black metal band Withermoon, where the former would rewrite and rerecord two songs from their demo days.

Nex is the culminating flatline of the death and rebirth of a band too pissed off to stay deceased: a 10-track story about loss, death, retribution, and fury that honors tradition while being unafraid to venture on its own.

Sicarius is hungry, Sicarius is ready.

Sicarius wants to hunt again.
