Milwaukee (WI) - New Blackened Death Metal entity, RELIC, has launched a stream of "Iron Sacrament," the second single from their forthcoming debut EP, Crown of Flies!
Delivering Death Metal's dissonant punishing riffage with Black Metal's relentless chaotic speed. RELIC builds a new monument on the foundation of those that came before. Comprised of seasoned Milwaukee metal scene veterans with a history of making tight and focused music. Their debut EP, Crown Of Flies, is a blistering slab of Midwest 90s Blackend Death Metal worship. Delivered with malintent for its listeners. No frills, no scene drama, or gimmicks used by so many bands today. Pure underground Death Metal that is in your face and out for blood.
Russian Death Metallers GROND unleash a new crushing blow with “Pour le Mérite”, the 2nd advance single presented as a lyric-video, a dark, heavy and utterly devastating attack.
The track is taken from their upcoming third album “The Temple”, set for release on April 30th through Xtreem Music on CD and digital formats, ready to destroy everything in its path with crushing riffs and oppressive atmospheres.
Formed in 2002 in Moscow by Kist (drums/vocals) and Dust (guitars), GROND officially began their journey in 2005 with the release of their first demo. After intense live activity and several lineup changes, the band consolidated their sound with the EP “Steel Coffins” and later with their debut full-length “Howling From the Deep”, marking the beginning of their oceanic and maritime-themed identity.
In 2016, they released their second album, “Worship the Kraken”, through Xtreem Music, further expanding their dark, sea-bound mythology and strengthening their position within the underground Death Metal scene. Following European festival appearances, continued live assaults, and additional lineup changes, the band eventually solidified its current formation: Kist (vocals), Void (guitars), Sarghas (bass), and Kadath (drums).
With this lineup, GROND have recorded their new conceptual album, “The Temple,” inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s story of the same name and intertwined with the historical figure of German World War I U-boat commander Otto Eduard Weddigen.
Tracklist for "The Temple":
01. Rotter Himmel
02. Weddigen
03. Pour le Merite
04. U-29

06. Submergence
07. Radiant Fury
08. The Temple
09. Dark Solitude of the Sea
Release date for "The Temple" will be April 30th through Xtreem Music on CD & Digital formats.

Today, German black metallers Werwolf reveal the new track "Unholy Trinity." The track is the second to be revealed from the band's long-awaited debut album, Satanic Terror, set for international release on April 24th via Dominance of Darkness Records. Hear Werwolf's "Unholy Trinity" in its entirety HERE at Dominance of Darkness' official YouTube channel.
Formed in the dark days of 2005, Germany's Werwolf spent their first 15 years in the deepest underground, littering filth only when the time was right - and then returning, once again, to a cold grave. It was not until 2021's Blutgericht EP, released by Dominance of Darkness, where Werwolf began to climb further up from those dungeons, or at least commit to a more active plan of filth. Nevertheless, as their releases became more prolific, the Germans still stayed committed to the old ways of the black metal underground: no compromise, no light.
Born from the whore of the dead heaven, after more than 20 years, Werwolf's first full-length appears to ruin everyone's day. Truly titled, Satanic Terror is raw & blasphemous BLACK METAL, renewing the covenant of the late '90s that was so foundational to their crude & rude aesthetic. From fanatical fast segments to cold-as-ice cruising, from wild frenzy to hypnotic delirium, all coated in a shadowy shimmer that's vintage 1998, Werwolf here manifest pure chaos into a gauntlet of fiercely honed hate. For those whose hearts long for the old days of Drakkar, Sombre, and Breath of Night, Satanic Terror will be a nostalgic listen - a tome to return to forgotten realms and ancient glory - while everyone else will be repulsed; either way, Werwolf stand defiant. This is fucking Satanic Terror!

Today, Hells Headbangers announces May 15th as the international release date for Desolus' highly anticipated second album, Dwellers of the Twilight Void, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.
It was but 2024 when Desolus burst onto the international metal map with their Hells Headbangers debut album, System Shock. Acclaimed by fans and media, the power trio's first full-length immediately and irrevocably proved that, despite the glut of '80s-style thrash around, they're indeed the Real Deal: while they may've been inspired by the likes of Sodom, Kreator, and Dark Angel, Desolus keenly understood what made those legends so vital - strong songwriting, and the razor-sharp execution to back it up. And back it up they did, touring their native United States following the album's release.
However, at the beginning of 2026, Desolus expanded their lineup to a quartet, adding drummer Bileh Dougsiyeh and previous drummer Travis Stone moving to second guitar. With that lineup thus bolstered, the band now unleash their sophomore full-length: Dwellers of the Twilight Void.
In one sense, one could look at Desolus' two albums covers and get a view into their respective auras: System Shock was doubtlessly fiery, while Dwellers of the Twilight Void goes darker and bloodier. The '80s horror VHS intro sets the stage perfectly for the blistering speed and aggression to come. Unbelievably, Desolus sound even more diabolical and crazed here, seemingly intent to slay listeners as quickly and efficiently as possible, with Dougsiyeh delivering an utterly unhinged performance to keep apace with his bloodthirsty bandmates. And yet, beyond their characteristic intensity, there's an evolution in the band's sound that's subtle and never belabored. Be it the more blackened textures, the duality of straightforward rush vs. haunting twists, or the unique production style that has a dingey, dungeonic clarity, Desolus display a strive to build upon the debut's not-inconsiderable foundation whilst keeping their core identity intact. In just 36 breathless minutes, these Dwellers of the Twilight Void will drag you from the light...for good!
In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "The Pact (Sealed in Blood)" HERE at Hells Headbangers' official YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Today, Purity Through Fire releases From Distant Hills' striking debut album, ...and Whispering Trees, on CD format. The vinyl version will follow later this year.
Summoned from forgotten realms, From Distant Hills is a new, ancient-minded project between multi-instrumentalist Ungod (Greece's Sad, Necrohell, Bloodmoon Eclipse et. al.) and vocalist Throne (Hor, Horrorography, Sad live member). As presaged by their moniker, the duo's aim with From Distant Hills is to bewitch black metal that's equal parts desolate, folkloric, melancholic, and emotive - in their estimation, in the vein of labelmates Bergrizen and the late / great Aaskereia.
With vocals that approximate the crying orc, From Distant Hills promptly and poignantly build an evocative landscape with their first recording, the full-length ...and Whispering Trees. Indeed, the album's elliptic title conveys the psychic headspace one enters here. Movement is never busy but always patiently persistent, be it stoic march, swords-aloft surge, or bloodletting trudge. Guitars are ghostly yet all-enveloping, with the riffing remaining various shades of melodic every step of the way and leads often taking shape from such. And those vocals...truly, a classic scream from what once was.
Totaling eight songs in 50 minutes, From Distant Hills' debut album wastes not a second in its world-building majesty and misery. With stars above the northern sky and the veins of the mountains bleeding freely, go beyond the kingdom of ancestral winds with ...and Whispering Trees.

Indonesian Brutal Death Metal trio, Multiwomb, have unleashed their debut full-length album Anatomy of Gorelust on Grave Island Records. The album is a relentless 9-track statement of surgical brutality and gore-driven extremity.

The band released the following statement concerning the album:
"Anatomy of Gorelust is our debut full-length, and we approached it with a clear intention to deliver brutal death metal in its purest and most obsessive form. Every riff, every blast and every guttural passage was written to feel tight, suffocating and surgical. This album defines who Multiwomb are. No trends, only anatomical extremity and raw intensity."

Today, Dutch black metallers Wrang premiere the new track "Voor ons de zee" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated third album, Verwording, set for international release on April 24th via Dominance of Darkness Records. Hear Wrang's "Voor ons de zee" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Formed in 2013 by the duo of Valr and Galgenvot, Wrang didn't properly become active until 2015, but since then have become a standard-bearer for the Netherlands' resurgent black metal scene. Their earlier inspiration tended toward the likes of Horna, Taake, and Slavia, but in more recent years - and especially with their second album, 2022's De vaendrig - a more rock 'n' rolling style of black metal has come to define Wrang, although they're not necessarily "black 'n' roll" by definition.
To prove the point, now arrives Wrang's third full-length, Verwording. Brimming with bright & triumphant riffing and feverishly urgent execution, Verwording is a windswept journey into dark-yet-emotive corridors of ancient-style black metal. One could liken this to Wrang at their most atmospheric, and that one would not be wrong, but that doesn't tell the entire story of Verwording. The duo retain the balls-to-the-wall aspect of the previous record, but the rippingly melodic riffing recasts that energy in quite a refreshing way.
Lyrically, Verwording reflects that slight sonic shift, as Wrang's themes here differ from those prior, ranging from societal critiques to more abstract themes, such as the inner need for strife, leaving behind home and what you know in a longing for something else. But, like most of the band's music, these lyrics can also be a bit contradictory: on one hand, always looking for something, yet never at ease once it's reached. Always restless, defiant, yet always torn - such is Wrang, to the bitter end.
Bringing both together is the cover art to Verwording, offering an apt metaphor for the album's sonic and lyrical themes: always drifting on stormy waters, always searching, never settling, desperate yet defiant. Long may Wrang's restless heart beat!

Italian death metallers CHRONIC HATE will release their highly anticipated new album, "Defeating The Oblivion Of Life", on May 29th 2026 via Time To Kill Records.
The first single "The Wrong" is now streaming HERE.
The band comments:
"The lead single and opening track of our new album, 'Defeating The Oblivion Of Life', kicks off with deeply personal lyrics that resonate with anyone feeling out of place in today's world of forced conformity and hypocritical respectability. Take pride in being an outsider! This track is our manifesto: pure rage, pure death metal, pure defiance".
Born from a band seasoned by over two decades of experience, the album clearly draws inspiration from the classic ‘90s death metal sound, with a nod to bands like Monstrosity and early Sinister, while updating these influences just enough to create a record that goes beyond mere homage. The songs are built around intricate, well-constructed riffs, impressive technical skill without descending into empty showmanship, and a subtle atmospheric layer that occasionally hints at blackened currents.
"Defeating The Oblivion Of Life" inaugurates a significant new chapter for CHRONIC HATE. The album thrusts listeners into the extreme spirals of death metal through a mature fusion of different influences and compositional approaches. Its sound is driven by a solid and devastating production, achieved in the tradition of the genre with 100% acoustic drums and real amplifiers.
Lyrically, the album is an act of rebellion against a world that seeks to condemn our lives to oblivion, submerging us in distractions and waste, reducing us to a dehumanized herd. The songs alternate between crude, direct verses and more intimate, lacerating, and personal passages, delivering undeniable emotional power and authenticity.

On May 25th internationally, Antiq is proud to present Malebeste's striking debut album, Monestherou.
Formed in 2024 in a small town of western France, Malebeste are a five-piece black metal band. Deeply rooted in its land and history, the band mainly explore themes inspired by the legends of Charente, Vendée, and surrounding regions. The quintet offer a melodic and powerful music, driven as much by sharp riffs as by percussive drumming with galloping and varied patterns, supported by inhabited French vocals that transcend the whole. Musically, the band draw inspiration from the French and Swedish black metal scenes.
Malebeste's debut album, Monestherou, recounts the tales and legends of the Charente region (France) and nearby areas. The lyrics, all in French, are carried by atmospheres that are by turns dark and luminous, blending medieval and modern sounds. At the crossroads of traditional French and Swedish melodic black metal, this album offers a large variety of rhythms and structures, from peaceful moments to fast and brutal blastbeats.

Tasmanian devils THE ABSOLUTION SEQUENCE have set an August 2026 release date for their highly-anticipated full-length album, Dread Cycle.
Following a string of EPs and singles, the album promises to be the band's most incendiary work yet. Slated for release via Bleeding Art Collective, with distribution by Blood Blast Distribution, Dread Cycle is set to solidify the band’s position as a premier name in contemporary technical death metal.
THE ABSOLUTION SEQUENCE is prepping fans for what's to come with the release of the official music video for the album's first single, "Ghost Mantra."
The band comments on the song's lyrical concept, "'Ghost Mantra' is all about being surrounded and taunted by the apparitions of our ancestors, and the
sacrifice of the lowly in order to maintain the status quo. What comes with these haunting feelings is the overwhelming presence of guilt, as we watch the poor die horribly and step over their bodies to see out our goals. 'Ghost Mantra' is a solemn bow to those who have suffered. A showing of respect and gratitude."
Today, pagan black metallers Asenheim premiere the new track "Der Wächter der Nacht" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated tenth album, Elbenblut, set for international release on April 24th via Dominance of Darkness Records. Hear Asenheim's "Der Wächter der Nacht" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Although initially formed in 2004 under the moniker Sins of Desire, it wasn't until 2006 when Asenheim emerged since the lyrics increasingly dealt with pagan themes and a name change was overdue. Founding vocalist / guitarist Tiwaz soon developed the band into a solo project, as rehearsals with previous members were far too rare. Still, Asenheim continued to forge their sound, and after numerous demos, both the self-titled debut album and Sehnsucht mini-album arrived in 2012. However, it was their second album, wenn die Nacht..., that proved pivotal: Valfor came onboard initially as a session drummer, but ended up staying and proved an integral creative partner to Tiwaz. At last, Asenheim was complete, and a rich catalog of pagan black metal arrived from ancient mists...
Despite such a vast catalog, never has there been a dip in quality; Asenheim are nothing if not dependable. Put another way, Tiwaz and Valfor's vision has always been focused and firm, and beholding it has become something of a rite of passage. Which makes their tenth album, Elbenblut, all the more special: it caps the band's 20th anniversary in dramatic, dependable fashion. The atmosphere is stirringly folkloric, which isn't too surprising given that the album's themes are set in the Tolkein universe. Nevertheless, Asenheim proceed to paint a poignant landscape across Elbenblut's EPIC 70-minute runtime, running from breathless peals of windswept urgency to somber-yet-sumptuous downtempo segments, all suffused with blanching emotion and classic nightsky splendor, as always with an organic warmth that's unique for black metal. Each of the album's 11 tracks are as important to the totality as the last, drawing the listener deeply into Asenheim's world - and, in effect, Tolkein's - and guiding them through a journey that's characteristically compelling to the very end. Not for nothing was Elbenblut five years in the making... Long may Asenheim reign for another 20 years!
