Recenzja Arkona „Stella Pandora”

 Arkona

„Stella Pandora”

Debemur Morti Prod. 2024

Arkona powraca z albumem numer osiem! Pięć lat zajęło chłopakom skomponowanie następcy „ Age of Caprion”. Długo to i… krótko. Zleży jak na to spojrzeć. Ja zawsze uważam, że na dobrą muzykę warto czasem poczekać, i lepiej, żeby zespół dał sobie czas, niż spoglądał na kalendarz. Tym bardziej zespół z określoną renomą. (Czytaj dalej...)

Boris Records / Deanwel Global Music 2024

(Czytaj dalej...)

Idzie nowy DESTRUKTOR

Today, Hells Headbangers Records announces October 18th as the international release date for Destruktor's long-awaited third album, Indomitable, on CD and cassette tape formats. The vinyl LP version will follow later.

Since 1997, Destruktor have been proudly flying the flag for Australian extreme metal. While quite often do their recordings come within large gaps of time - their second album, Opprobrium, was released back in 2015 - these Aussie tyrants have been patiently honing a sound that seethes with the war-metalled fire their homeland's world renowned for, yet over the years finessed with an acute attention to propulsive, immediately memorable songcraft. Black metal, death metal, thrash, "war metal," whatever: Destruktor are their own paradigm by now, and it is eternal.

Such is the case with their long-awaited third album, Indomitable. All-too-perfectly titled, Indomitable sounds like it could've come at any point in Destruktor's quality-over-quantity career: eight stout tracks of scathing, surging, no-nonsense extreme metal. Indeed, founding vocalist / guitarist Glenn Destrukor and longtime drum-tornado Jared maintain the same, singed-black rage that have made their two full-lengths and two EPs such touchstones of Down Under extremism, but here they are joined by old friend / new addition Chris on bass, who exhibits the best low-end work on any Destruktor recording and fully complements their characteristic chaos vs. control dynamic. Lean and mean at 34 minutes just like its predecessor, Indomitable continues the band's proverbial sharpening of blades; their fury still walks that fine line between chaos and control - neither too blackened, nor too deathly, nor "thrashing" in any cliche way - but the clear-yet-crushing production (at Melbourne's renowned Toyland Studio) amplifies tenfold their scabrous assault, making it somehow grittier and more gleaming in equal measure. It's impossible not to get inexorably swallowed by the album's slipstream: Indomitable is death in sonic format, bereft of belief, joy, and light.

And yet, Destruktor can still surprise, for Indomitable features the band's darkest and most personal lyrics to date, fully committed to the concept of death in many forms. And, if we are to read into the lyrics of climactic closer "The Path to Lucifer," there's an allusion to returning to dust, but rest easy: after delivering undoubtedly their best work after 30 years of existence - truly, an exception to rule of metal bands wimping out or worsening as the years slog on - Destruktor are in no danger of disbanding anytime soon.

Riff after riff, blast after blast, death after death, Indomitable is catchy-yet-unrelenting dark extreme metal for the dark and the darker. Destruktor are truly eternal.

In the the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Speaking With the Dead" HERE at Hells Headbangers' official YouTube channel as well as HERE at Hells Headbangers' Bandcamp. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Recenzja Other World „Tenebrous”

 Other World

„Tenebrous”

Debemur Morti Prod. 2024

Other World pochodzą ze Stanów i grają atmosferyczny black metal. (Czytaj dalej...)

„Devant La Porte Des Etoiles”

Season Of Mist: Underground Activists 2024

(Czytaj dalej...)

SLEEPLESS z nowym numerem

Portland (OR) - Progressive/Traditional Metal outfit SLEEPLESS are set to release Through Endless Black, their second full-length album, on October 31! The album will be available on vinyl and digital formats through Necromantic Press Records. The CD version will be released on Metal Warrior Records.

A lyric video for first single, "Dreams of Mortal Ruin," is available at youtu.be/oITCOHsvDXY. The single is also available on Bandcamp.

Soon after the release of critically acclaimed, 2022 full-length debut album, Host Desecration, writing team Eric Sexton-Dorsett and Kevin Hahn dug in deep with a single minded purpose: to create a world class metal album that shows exactly what SLEEPLESS is all about! Through Endless Black is just that! The album leans into the band's Trad Metal roots, infused with the technical flourishes and spashes of Doom that collectively create the SLEEPLESS sound! "With each tune we would picture someone dropping the needle onto a record," explains Sexton-Dorsett. "Could they nod their head to the song and have it repeating in their mind the rest of the day?"

Mission accomplished!

The band also introduced their first guest vocal appearances by legendary punk vocalist Jerry A of Poison Idea and master metal vocalist Sean Peck of Denner/Sherman, Cage, and Death Dealer!

SLEEPLESS is back with one hell of an album in Through Endless Black!

Singiel od WITCHING ALTAR

On September 27th internationally, Dying Victims Productions is proud to present Graveyard Thunder, a special split album between Bottomless and Witching Altar, on CD and vinyl LP formats. And today, heavily trafficked web-portal MetalBite.com premieres Witching Altar's new track "Silence at the Cross." Hear Witching Altar's "Silence at the Cross" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Graveyard Thunder is aptly titled, for it brings together two cult doom metal bands, each offering three exclusive new tracks for a total of 40 minutes of bewitching, bottom-heavy sound. Bottomless are likely familiar to those following the dark deeds of Dying Victims, for the Italians released their second album, The Banishing, through the label last summer. While they largely stick to their tried & true template of classic Candlemass, Trouble, and Solitude Aeternus, there’s a certain silkiness to their entry here. “Soothing” is a strange misnomer, but not entirely inaccurate; slicked-up doom this is definitely NOT. Rather, one could maybe point to the almost-hushed haunting tones of Blue Öyster Cult’s “Burning for You” and indeed even “Don’t Fear the Reaper” as extrapolated touchstones for Bottomless’ velvety rumble on their three tracks – a unique and ultimately awesome development from this increasingly potent bunch.Witching Altar complement their split-mates well, for they’re just as – if not more! – entrenched in the ‘70s and early ‘80s. And while the Brazilians had been on something of a hiatus until last year’s surprise release of the Morningstar EP, any new Witching Altar material is cause for celebration. Thankfully, no great changes have been made to their sound: always and forever, Ozzy-era Black Sabbath and oldest Pentagram form their foundation, fleshed out by the likes of Witchfinder General, Pagan Altar, and Count Raven. Maniacal DOOM METAL traditionalism for traditional doom metal maniacs, Witching Altar nevertheless inject their own spooky personality to proceedings, particularly on the titanic “The Crypts Below.” Graveyard Thunder rolls!

In the meantime, hear Witching Altar's brand-new track "Silence at the Cross" exclusively HERE, courtesy of MetalBite.com. Also hear Bottomless' previously revealed "Lightning in the Realms of Death" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Deaf Forever magazine. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Wznowienie URAL "Psychoverse" na winylu

The vinyl version of the 3rd album of italian Thrashers URAL "Psychoverse" which was released on CD, and Digital formats last October 10th, through Xtreem Music, is OUT NOW!!

URAL is a Crossover/old school Thrash Metal band from Italy formed back in 2010 and ever since release a selftitled demo in 2011, followed by the "Wasteland" EP in 2013 and their two full -length albums "Party With the Wolves" (2016) and "Just for Fun" (2019). In 2022, URAL released their "Cyber Requiem" EP which was recorded at the Mk2 Recording Studio in Ivrea, under the guidance of Davide "BrutalDave" Billia (Antropofagus, Beheaded, Hour of Penance). The EP was completed with cover artwork by renowned artist Luca SoloMacello.

In early summer 2023, after months of hard work, URAL completed their 3rd full-length album "Psychoverse", recorded at same studios as the previous EP and same artist for artwork, which led them to sign with Xtreem Music for worldwide promotion & distribution of the new album.

It seems that their asskicking Thrash Metal is coming straight from the Bay Area in the '80s, the lunatic, Voivod-like guitar riffs mixed with Crossover vibes let the young guns riding the New Wave of Old School Thrash Metal hell bent for leather. And of course, URAL are delivering the goods and don't need to hide behind Municipal Waste, Iron Reagan or Powertrip.

Nowy MODERN RITES do odsłuchu

"It offers captivating, driving anthems with immense dynamism—on one hand, monumental and monolithic, on the other, brilliant and varied!" (Legacy)

Shortly before the official release of MODERN RITES' second album, "Endless", artistic duo Berg (AARA) and Jonny Warren (KUYASHII) present the full album stream.

Building upon acclaimed 2021 debut "Monuments", new album "Endless" drives powerful slabs of dark '90s Industrial music through a low-slung framework of churning and guttural melodic Black Metal. "Endless" takes the band's monolithic sound to the next level: with crushing advancements in riff-quality, vocal weight, rhythmic intricacy, textural range, dynamics and songcraft.

Singiel z debiutu LIFE ABUSE

Today, Armageddon Label announces October 4th as the international release date for Life Abuse's highly anticipated debut album, Systematization, on vinyl LP format.

Life Abuse is a new band based primarily in Albany, New York. Their list of "ex-members of" could easily be described as a "supergroup," boasting past members of Self Defense Family, The Oath, Male Patterns, Under Attack, Devoid of Faith, Libyans, End of A Year, and Limp Wrist, just to name a few from the seemingly endless list. However, it really boiled down to Mark Telfian and Dan Barker wanting to reconnect and play music together again. They had last played together in 2004 when, Deathsquad, their band at the time, broke up.

Deathsquad formed in 2001, and they released a 7" on Youth Attack Records in 2003 and a second 7" on Bonus Choke in 2004. They kicked around the idea of trying to do some type of project together since Telfian had gotten back into playing music in 2018 with Under Attack. Since Mark had moved to Richmond, Virginia, the idea of doing a band from that distance seemed unfeasible.

They figured the closest they would come to playing together was having their bands Male Patterns and Under Attack do a split 7", which came out in June of 2022 on Shock to the System Records. In October of 2022, Under Attack broke up, and Telfian was trying to figure out what to do and who to play with. Since he had started playing music again, he always gravitated back to playing music more in line with Deathsquad. He had written about a dozen songs that he felt were in that same style. After sending a few songs for Barker to check out, they decided to start playing music again almost 20 years later.

As fate would have it, Barker had run into Sean Doody at a Male Patterns show. This was, in fact, the record release show for the Male Patterns / Under Attack split. They had talked for a bit and gotten caught up. Doody had moved away from Albany for a few years and had stopped playing music for a while. Dan immediately suggested getting Sean, as he, too, was very into playing that style of music and wasn't currently playing in a band. The final member was longtime friend Nate Wilson. Wilson had played in various Albany bands with every other member of Life Abuse, including Deathsquad with Telfian and Barker. Their idea was simple: play Euro-style crust in the vein of such epic bands like No Security, G-ANX, and ABC Diabolo while blending Telfian's Negative Approach-influenced riffs and a hint of early Megadeth. Nate brought a metallic edge to everything with his lead work and solos. The end result was old friends making the most brutal music they could in what seems to be the most brutal times.
