Recenzja Apocalyptic Society „Instinctual Self-Slaughter”

 Apocalyptic Society

„Instinctual Self-Slaughter”

Independent 2025

(Czytaj dalej...)

Nowy HAMMERFILOSOFI w listpadzie

Today, militant black metallers Hammerfilosofi reveal the new track "Funeral Veil." The track is the first to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated second album, Signum, set for international release on October 31st via Osmose Productions . Hear an alternate version of Hammerfilosofi's "Funeral Veil" in its entirety HERE at Osmose's official YouTube channel.

Forged in fire. Sealed in darkness.

The relentless force known as Hammerfilosofi returns this October with their most uncompromising work to date: Signum. A testament to sonic extremity, Signum is more than an album—it's a proclamation. A declaration of resistance, mysticism, and philosophical warfare delivered with unwavering intent.

In the shadows where legends are born, Signum was mastered at the revered Endarker Studio, home to black metal monoliths like Marduk and Funeral Mist. The legacy of those brutal recordings echoes in every decibel of this album—sharpened, ritualistic, and violently alive. The immersive artwork is made by the rising star Manuel Scapinello.

Singiel z nowego MALAKHIM

Today, Swedish black metal elite Malakhim premiere the new video "The Firmament Submits" at the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated second album, And In Our Hearts the Devil Sings, set for international release on October 31st via Iron Bonehead Productions. See & hear Malakhim's "The Firmament Submits" video in its entirety exclusively HERE.

From their formation in 2016 onward, the ascent of Sweden's Malakhim has been both steady and swift: first demo to first EP to first album, every move has been patient and maximized but never belabored. Those sumptuous short-lengths surely whet appetites for the band's full-length debut, Theion, released in 2021 to widespread acclaim by Iron Bonehead. There, Malakhim fully flexed every muscle and explored every crooked corner that had been there since the beginning - death metalled thrust colliding headlong with a majestic-yet-malevolent melodicism that harkened back to the ancient days of No Fashion and Solistitium - exhibiting a vital and yet venerable new iteration of orthodox black metal.

While And In Our Hearts the Devil Sings isn't strictly a concept album per se, its lyrical themes are nevertheless deep, loosely based on the ideas of Yetzer Hara: the inherent inclination of man to do evil. Suitably, Malakhim have tapped K Pavleska of Mors Ultima Ratio Art to capture the ominous cover artwork, with additional booklet artwork by longtime friend Karmazid, who's also been a staple for all their releases. "You may claim to not know or believe in the Devil, but rest assured that the Devil knows you..."

Klip PINK PANTHER PROJECT

Electro-industrial outfit Pink Panther Project have released a new video for "The Black Bloc Song", an impactful track from their second full-length album, "Clinics And Models". The album is out now via the electro label Assur Anshar and distributed worldwide by The Circle Music.

Watch "The Black Bloc Song": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVqjDaHlDBk

This release follows a series of compelling videos, including the ironically cheerful "Après-midi Paranoïaque" and the stark, militant anti-war anthem "Soldaten". Other visuals have accompanied "Open A Clinic In Japan", the album’s most experimental offering, with its slow, hypnotic journey into modern-oriental psychedelia, and "Black Pink Panthers", which revisits the band’s core identity with spectral electronics and a captivatingly sensual vocal performance.

"Clinics And Models" opens with "Under The Ash", a cold yet catchy electro-ballad that catches the listener with its icy chorus. The album maintains the seductive, techno-oriented electro aesthetic that Pink Panther Project explored on their debut release last year, while also exploring new territory. The influence of Mike Oldfield is evoked through ethereal vocals and compelling electronic textures, creating a uniquely unsettling and engaging atmosphere. The album also features tracks such as the candid "Burn This Deep", which addresses the psychological effects of the Internet, and "Read, Repeat, Forget", a sophisticated EBM piece that critiques functional illiteracy within an infectious groove.

This limited edition CD release is restricted to just 500 copies. According to a review by Side-Line, the album is "a masterpiece" and "one of the finest electro productions" of the year.

Singiel od INRITVM. Płyta na dniach

On October 3rd internationally, EAL Productions will release Inritvm's highly anticipated debut album, Ex Nihilo Ad Nihilum.

Bicephalous entity Inritvm formalized Ex Nihilo Ad Nihilum within a collective comprised of individuals active since the '90s.

Syht (Haemoth) and Akhaeus (Bael) laid the foundations – both new and deeply rooted in a claimed and embraced heritage – whose embodiment drew upon the contributions of Yhrm (Deviant), Hth (Haemoth), MkM (Antaeus), Aguares (Bael), and Ablass (6666).

What one could describe as resolutely nihilistic black metal, fueled by the layered experiences of its contributors, is based on the cold pronouncement of an undeniable truth: all is vanity; all that exists is doomed to fade into naught.

The entirety of it assumed shape from 2022 through an iterative and decidedly exploratory method, a prolonged process at once guided and of unbounded definition.

If a paradox must needs be forged to articulate that which is not, it is but the stark illustration of an impotence, a confession, a confusion.

The inherent contradiction of expressing nothingness has guided the artistic approach embedded within this work. Tangibly, the piece aims to represent a form of chaos, emptiness, a descent into the void, delivered through tones and playing built on a "traditional" black metal praxis interspersed with noisier passages, creating a sound that's both coherent and exploratory, and a visual approach by Metastazis that is equally abstract and materially vertiginous.

This is no more about darkness than it is about light. Yet in the void, none can fail to envision the presence of that which corrupts.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "The Principles of Forfeiture" HERE at NoEvDia's official YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

MASTER'S HAMMER zapowiadają nowy album

Today, Darkness Shall Rise Productions announces November 26th as the international release date for Master's Hammer's highly anticipated ninth album, Maldorör Disco, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

The Czech masters of oddity and weirdness return! After Master's Hammer performed the last show in support of the album Fascinator in 2018, it seemed that the Czech legends' story had finally come to a close for good. But luckily, instead of having been laid to rest, the band only went into hibernation and is now back with a new album after seven years!

Never the least concerned with fitting in, Master's Hammer's refusal to be confined to certain genres and play by anybody's rules has resulted in many highly original albums that defied categorization. Unsurprisingly, Maldorör Disco, the band’s ninth album, follows in this direction and is yet another bold release by Master's Hammer, showcasing the group's commitment to pushing boundaries.

Although Maldorör Disco is still unmistakenly Master's Hammer, its probably their most experimental and least-black-metal-sounding album to date. Entirely lacking fast paces, the album's 10 tracks predominately oscillate between slow- and mid-tempos. The album is not so much dominated by guitars as in the past; instead, Franta's characteristic riffs are accompanied by layers of various electronical elements. Besides the masterfully composed synthesizers and keyboards, the multiple voices appearing throughout the album and the way they are arranged play a pivotal role in Maldorör Disco, too.

The visual presentation of the album deserves a special mention; Franta has again come up with some beautifully bizarre artworks. Marveling at these surreal masterpieces and reading the disturbingly amusing lyrics while listening to the music is the right way to experience this album.

Listeners who enjoyed Master's Hammer's previous efforts or who have a soft spot for the theatrical and unconventional in general will find plenty to relish on Maldorör Disco. It's an album that rewards attentive, adventurous listeners, delivering a journey that is as confounding as it is exhilarating. Maldorör Disco stands as a testament to Master's Hammer's relentless drive to innovate and push forward with total disregard for conventions or expectations.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Beast Within" HERE at Darkness Shall Rise's official YouTube channel. Aforementioned cover artwork and tracklisting are as follows:

Today, Osmose Productions announces November 28th as the international release date for Summoning Hellgate's striking debut mini-album, Spear of Conquest, on CD, 12" vinyl, and cassette tape formats.

Spear of Conquest is the merciless 21-minute debut assault of Summoning Hellgates. An act of spiritual devastation, existential decay, and ritual violence. A disintegration of identity and the liberation found in death and transgression. This is not a proclamation, but a wound carved deep into the flesh.

Today, German black metallers Pest premiere the new track "Light Fades" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's long-awaited comeback album, Eternal Nightmares, set for international release on October 17th via Heidens Hart Records. Hear Pest's "Light Fades" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

In 2014, German black metal institution Pest released Buried: as suggested by its title, an epitaph for the band, who had formed in 1997 and had dependably released four full-lengths during the preceding decade. Now, they return from the grave with one final full-length, fittingly titled Eternal Nightmares.

Big was the shock when Pest co-founder Mrok passed away in 2011, but inspiration was found a decade after and in his death. Rather than searching for a new drummer, founder Scum honored the legacy of Pest and Mrok took up drums himself again. Combined with his and co-founder Atax's characteristically hypnotic & haunting riffs, as well as input from new member Brandt, the resultant Eternal Nightmares truly sounds as if no time has passed since the early days - a veritable portrait of Dorian Gray, in decay. The maniacal vocals from Mr. Blasphemy and Atax still cut through your bones, raising hackles while the hypnosis washes over you. The storm of surging riffs are trance-inducing to the extreme yet ultra-aggressive in their ghostliness. Altogether with Pest's classic medieval weirdness already present on their demo and first albums, Eternal Nightmares solidifies the band's noble legacy and serves as a fitting epitaph...if they return to the grave once again.

For Pest, innovation means retrogression. This new album was still fully recorded and mixed by the band themselves in their rehearsal room, just as it was 25 years ago. It doesn't get more authentic than this: relive their Eternal Nightmares!

Czwarty krążek TÅRFÖDD za miesiąc

Today, Purity Through Fire announces October 31st as the international release date for Tårfödd's highly anticipated fourth album, Lidande, on CD format.

Since their formation in 2022, Sweden's Tårfödd have become a prolific force in the DSBM scene. With five full-lengths to date as well as nine singles, two EPs, and a couple collaborative records, mainman Simon Lindgren is a man possessed: supreme melancholy, bittersweet majesty, Technicolor textures, and soul-draining emotion have all become his stock in trade. And while it's not often that Purity Through Fire steps into depressive black metal waters, the label presently makes an exception for Tårfödd's Lidande.

Originally released digitally earlier this year and later followed by fifth album Efterlämnade i sorg, Lidande is as good of a place as any to begin experiencing Tårfödd. Totaling 11 tracks across 56 minutes, the album is generous in its immersion. Songs are thusly varied in composition and dynamics, but feel unified as a whole. Lindgren is skilled at layering each of those compositions with cold riffing, transcendent leads, heartbroken piano, and an almost-effortless shifting of tempo - furiously fast, sloggingly slow, and everything in between - all encased in a polished production that allows every forlorn note to pierce the soul in 3D. Drown in those depressive waters with Tårfödd's Lidande!

As always, Andreas Hedlund (aka mr. Vintersorg himself) leads the charge, balancing razor-edged riffing with layered clean vocals, icy shrieks, and a knack for songwriting that’s as cinematic as it is punishing. There’s no scientific concept this time around, no tangled progressive detours, just full immersion in atmosphere, feeling, and elemental force. Call it Folk Metal, call it Black Metal, call it Vintersorg at full power!

Nowy THE OMINOUS CIRCLE pod koniec listopada

Today, Osmose Productions announces November 28th as the international release date for The Ominous Circle's highly anticipated second album, Cloven Tongues of Fire, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

In a long-overdue return, Portugal's The Ominous Circle rise again from the mist with their sophomore album, Cloven Tongues of Fire, a deeper descent into the great, endless chasms. A maelstrom of fire and relentless chaos that defies everything in this age of empty standards and sterile paradigms, the new full-length effort represents their darkest, most intense and uncompromising manifest to date, both a witness to the wickedness of iniquity and a tribute to the arts of the extreme.

Sophisticated yet raw, dynamic and fierce, presenting a different approach to songwriting while continuing the path of 2017's acclaimed Appalling Ascension, Cloven Tongues of Fire delivers 43 minutes of black-infused death metal with monolithic slabs of doom: a defaced abomination of low-tuned impious riffing, dissonant patterns, and wildfire rhythms, from the manic blasting of "Through Tunnels Ablaze" to the gargantuan epic that is "Utterance of the Formless," forming a tome of dark death metal necromancy.

Its organic production harks back to ancient times and is crowned with Dan Lowndes’ mastering magic to forge an opus of filth, blood, and venom where new elements merge with old facets to spawn an opus of labyrinthine shapes and blaze-laden cacophony. Unapologetic and confrontational, Cloven Tongues of Fire is a testimony of the awe-inspiring splendor of death.

First track premiere to be revealed on October 17th. Preorder link can be found HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Formed in 2004 by Dave Rotten (AVULSED/ HOLYCIDE) and Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER/ RIBSPREADER), PUTREVORE has been forging its heavy, dense and brutal sound through four albums and two split EPs.

In "Unending Rotting Cycle", the band has once again taken a new turn in its sound, making it even more putrid, dark and cavernous, while continuing with its own vision outside of the fashions of each moment, which perfectly defines the name of the band.

"Unending Rotting Cycle" has an incredibly brutal, heavy, dense, crushing, intense, dark, rotting sound... Rogga's vicious and morbid riffs, together with Dave Rotten's monstrously decomposed and inhuman voice and Thomas Ohlsson's intense and crushing drum work, make "Unending Rotting Cycle" possibly one of the most rotten and heavy albums of the year.

This time, cover art was done by Spanish artist Lucretia Morti (www.facebook.com/LucretiaMortiOficial)

Nowy PERDITION TEMPLE w listopadzie

Today, Hells Headbangers announces November 28th as the international release date for Perdition Temple's highly anticipated fifth full-length, Malign Apotheosis, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats. In lieu of this announcement, the band reveal the new title track "Malign Apotheosis." Hear Perdition Temple's title track "Malign Apotheosis" in its entirety HERE at Hells Headbangers' official YouTube channel.

By now, Perdition Temple require no introduction: the power-trio's esteemed lineup credentials speak for themselves, and more so do they within the realm of this militant death metal whirlwind. Malign Apotheosis is the band's first album of all-new material since 2020's classic Sacraments of Descension, and they waste no time laying waste to the listener. Savage, feral, but fully locked-in as a unit, Perdition Temple's cyclonic sound is immediately recognizable as theirs, and theirs alone: bilious, blackened, and bursting at the seams with chaotic, carnivorous intent. Still, despite the flurry of soul-slaying death metal at hand, Malign Apotheosis manages to be incredibly memorable in its songwriting; riff, solo, and breakdown form a searing symbiosis that's pure evil to the very end. Of especial note is the album's recording - sooty, rustic, and actually more "old"-sounding than Perdition Temple's two albums over a decade ago - that, when stacked against some of the newer twists of texture here, make Malign Apotheosis a triumph of both consolidation and reinvigoration. These barbarian warlords excel at "Fell Sorcery" indeed!

Nowy numer CENTINEX

Swedish death metal veterans Centinex return with their 12th full-length album, With Guts and Glory, set for release on 7 November 2025 via Black Lion Records. As the first taste of the album, Centinex unleash a lyric video for the track “Your Religion Dies Tonight,” which the band calls “a merciless sonic assault.” The song delivers raw death metal brutality fused with the relentless speed and aggression of thrash and punk.

Elaborate Centinex: “Unapologetically heavy and forged in the fires of rebellion, ‘Your Religion Dies Tonight’ drips with blood, sweat, and venom. With riffs sharp enough to slit throats and a groove that hammers like Motörhead on a death-fueled rampage, Centinex take a bold step forward in their decades-long mission of uncompromising extremity.”

Mini SIECHKNECHT za miesiąc

Today, Purity Through Fire announces October 31st as the international release date for Siechknecht's striking debut mini-album, Pestmond, on CD format.

A lightning bolt from the blue, Siechknecht storm forth with a four-song assault of stoic pride and stomping arrogance: the four-song / 24-minute Pestmond. Fronting the band is the ever-prolific Revenant, renown for Sarkrista and Order of Nosferat among others, and he's backed by a trio of black metal hooligans who create a stirring torrent of conquest and triumph. With insanely hummable melodies raised to the sky like swords ablaze at dawn, Pestmond largely pulses to a taut-yet-cruising mid-tempo march that's hypnotic and bloodlusting in equal measure; when the speed picks up, it's a flowing & fluid gallop that continues that cool-cruise sensation. Powerfully and poignantly, Siechknecht embody the best elements of nowadays Teutonic black metal - austerely melodic, instantly ingraining, professionally produced, and pumping pagan blood - with a nod or two toward the contemporaneous Finnish school, altogether making Pestmord a record that's classically rooted yet contemporary. When Valkyries ride, this shall be the new soundtrack!
