Tak to często bywa, że zespoły tworzący swoisty hardcore’owo – punkowo - metalowy crossover doskonale sprawdzają się na żywca (i tak też było w przypadku bohaterów tekstu), ale w domu, kiedy człowiek siedzi w fotelu bujanym, w ciepłych kapciach, już nie do końca żre to tak, jak powinno. (Czytaj dalej...)

Maltese black metal enyity SAĦĦAR has officially joined the roster of Time To Kill Records, marking a new chapter in its ever-evolving path.

Emerging from a scene far removed from the genre’s more saturated circuits, SAĦĦAR brings with it a distinct identity shaped by isolation, heritage, and a deeply personal artistic vision.

The upcoming full-length album promises a refined take on the project’s signature sound: a form of black metal infused with fresh dynamics, subtle melodic undercurrents and a pervasive sense of decay that envelops the material in a bleak, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

Balancing aggression and introspection, the new work aims to push further into expressive territory while maintaining the raw essence that has defined SAĦĦAR’s output to date.

Today, Caligari Records announces May 15th as the international release date for Mangled Recrement's striking debut demo on cassette tape format.

Hailing from Poland, Mangled Recrement have been reeking in Lublin basements since 2024, including members from the likes of Leucotome and Toughness. A power trio and proudly underground, their spew of filthy and highly distorted sounds is inspired by old-school death metal, formed into what they feel is honest and painfully gruesome. The grimy themes find their roots in horror stories, human fear, and misery, and they back up those themes on their debut demo with a sound inspired by such bands as Autopsy, Terrorizer, Gorguts, Morbific, Malignant Altar, Immolation, Undergang, and Cryptopsy. Truly, Mangled Recrement are an all-caps DEATH METAL band - for death metal maniacs, by death metal maniacs. Razor-sharp and raw, their straightforward surge here on this 16-minute recording suggests even fouler filth to come.

Gdy zobaczyłem okładkę zdobiącą premierowy pełniak pochodzącego z Vermont zespołu Ordh pomyślałem sobie, że ktoś wypuszcza reedkę naszych krajan z Clairvoyance. Okładka autorstwa Paolo Girardiego, kolorystyka, tematyka – można się pomylić. Po przesłuchaniu „Blind In Abyssal Realms” nie mam wątpliwości, że ekipy z północnego wschodu USA z Clairvoyance nie pomylimy i w ogóle bardzo ciężko będzie ich pomylić z kimkolwiek. (Czytaj dalej...)

TRAUMA zapowiada reedycję mini-albumu "Hamartia"

 

TRAUMA - jeden z najbardziej uznanych rodzimych zespołów deathmetalowych - zapowiada wznowienie niedostępnego od dawna w sprzedaży mini-albumu Hamartia. Wydawnictwo ukaże się w kwietniu nakładem Selfmadegod Records.

TRAUMA to jeden z najdłużej działających i najbardziej rozpoznawalnych polskich zespołów na scenie deathmetalowej. Grupa powstała w 1986 roku w Elblągu, początkowo pod nazwą Thanatos, i od początku była związana z rozwijającą się wówczas sceną ekstremalnego metalu. Po nagraniu dwóch taśm demo Deo Optimo Maximo (1989) oraz Out Of Sanity (1990) muzycy zmienili nazwę na TRAUMA i rozpoczęli działalność pod szyldem, który funkcjonuje do dziś.

Debiutancki album zespołu, Comedy Is Over, ukazał się w 1996 roku i zaprezentował bezkompromisowy death metal inspirowany zarówno amerykańską, jak i europejską sceną gatunku. Po wydaniu ep Daimonion (1998), zespół w 2000 roku powrócił z drugą płytą studyjną Suffocated in Slumber, która okazała się prawdziwym sukcesem i przyniosła zespołowi kontrakt z niemiecką wytwórnią System Shock oraz zaowocowała trasą u boku Vader i Decapitated, której zapis znalazł się na koncertowym wydawnictwie Crash Test - Live (2001). Kolejne wydawnictwa Imperfect Like a God (2003), Determination (2005), ep Hamartia (2006) przyniosły najbardziej ekstremalne i bezkompromisowe albumy w historii zespołu. Wraz z Neurotic Mass (2007) TRAUMA nie tylko podkreśliła deathmetalową dojrzałość kompozycyjną zespołu, nadając im znaczniej bardziej eksperymentalnego charakteru, wplatając do utworów elementy industrialu oraz nieoczywiste rozwiązania aranżacyjne. Po albumach Archetype of Chaos (2010) i Karma Obscura (2013) grupa powróciła w 2020 roku z płytą Ominous Black oraz ep Acrimony (2021), wydanymi nakładem Selfmadegod Records.

HELL-BORN to polska formacja muzyczna. Zawiązała się w Sopocie w 1996 roku. Wykonuje muzykę określaną hasłami black metal, death metal, trash metal. Dyskografia zespołu liczy pięć pełnowymiarowych albumów: "Hellblast" (2001 rok), "The Call of Megiddo" (2002 rok), "Legacy of the Nephilim" (2003 rok), "Cursed Infernal Steel" (2006 rok) i "Darkness" (2008 rok). Latem 2020 roku członkowie zespołu poinformowali o zakończeniu nagrań na szóstą długogrającą płytę. Album nosi tytuł "Natas Liah", zarejestrowano go w studiu Creme de la Creme. UNBLESS DIVINE ujawnił się światu w kwietniu 2020 roku. Utworzyli go pochodzący z Republiki Południowej Afryki gitarzysta i wokalista Lee Wollenschlaeger oraz sprawujący funkcje klawiszowca i gitarzysty Michał Grall. Pierwszy z nich był świeżo po rozstaniu z amerykańskim Malevolent Creation. Drugi należał jeszcze w tym czasie do holenderskiego Sinister.

Pariah’s cult debut re-issued! “The Kindred” brings you pure old school Thrash Metal fury! Satan changed their name to Pariah in 1988-1989.

Satan’s evolution for the time being came to an end here with this band, Pariah, in 1988. What Satan were going for with “Suspended Sentence”, could definitely be seen as a hint to the direction they would take as Pariah. That raspy, ill-tempered, aggressive Michael Jackson (indeed) is still here on vocals and these guys really wanted to tear things apart with this album. The main lineup here is entirely the same from Satan and Blind Fury (vocalists aside). Simply put, one could easily say they took “Suspended Sentence”’s interesting idea of “NWOBHM meets Thrash Metal” and basically focused on being even more aggressive this time.

MY OWN WILL zapowiadają EP-kę

 

Michigan's MY OWN WILL has announced the release of their newest EP, Misery. The EP promises to clutch throats and incite pits with four overly-aggressive tracks of metal-fueled hardcore.

The band has picked the EP's title track for the lead single. Vocalist Dave Keoppen comments on the song, "'Misery' was the first demo we recorded for the EP and was initially called 'Highway Homicide.' It is a fast, blistering track that we really feel sets the tone for the EP. Sonically, it is unlike anything we feel we have done before. I really tried to push my vocal ability on this one and the dudes wrote a heavy, fast, interesting ass beater. It’s fast at times, slow at times, and maintain a constant auditory onslaught throughout."

On April 24th, Indonesian Black Metal band PURE WRATH will unleash their fourth album "Bleak Days Ahead". Building wonderfully upon the panoramic and poignant melodies of 2022's wounded "Hymn to the Woeful Hearts", mastermind Ryo and drummer Yurii Ciel (CAILLEACH CALLING, ex-WHITE WARD) have dialled back the cinematics and upped the dynamics - allowing a varied sound palette including organ, mellotron, throat singing, piano and saxophone to express the sadness in high-functioning depression and the suffocating routines of modern life.

To underscore this, PURE WRATH now unveil the album's second single, 'Haven of Echoes', accompanied by a haunting video:

Indonesian band PURE WRATH began in mid-2014 as the solo primitive Black Metal project of multi-instrumentalist Ryo. In 2016, Ryo began to shift the lyrical and thematic content of PURE WRATH towards his own life and family history. This paradigm-shift resulted in 2017 debut record, "Ascetic Eventide", released via Indonesian label Hitam Kelam Records andselling out within four months.

Following the debut's success, Ryo was contacted by Mexican label Throats Productions for the vinyl re-release of "Ascetic Eventide". Soon after, "Endless Journey", a split release between PURE WRATH and French symphonic black metal project ONIRISM was issued at the end of 2017.

In mid-2018, Ryo began writing what would become the second PURE WRATH album, "Sempiternal Wisdom". It was released in October 2018 through Pest Productions in China and Hitam Kelam Records in Indonesia.

In 2019, Ryo readied PURE WRATH for live performances and created new EP "The Forlorn Soldier". Released in 2020 via new label Debemur Morti Productions, the EP featured Yurii Ciiel (ex-WHITE WARD) as a session drummer and served as a bridge to the next PURE WRATH full-length. "Hymn To The Woeful Hearts", the band's critically acclaimed, next-level third album, was unleashed by DMP in February 2022.

After an intense period composing new material and performing select live shows across Asia, PURE WRATH entered the studio in September 2025 to record new album "Bleak Days Ahead". For the first time, mastermind Ryo and drummer Yurii were able to record together in person in Bekasi, Indonesia. Further heightening anticipation for this new work, in January 2025 PURE WRATH unveiled a standalone digital composition 'Flowers And Walls' - a compelling rendition of Wiji Thukul's poem "Bunga dan Tembok". "Bleak Days Ahead" will be released on April 24th, 2026.

Hells Bells Festival oficjalnie domyka listę wykonawców, którzy 26 i 27 czerwca wystąpią na szczecińskiej Łasztowni. Finałowe ogłoszenie to potężna dawka nowojorskiego hardcore'u oraz hołd dla lokalnej legendy: do składu dołączają Pro-Pain oraz szczecińska duma, grupa The Analogs.

Zestawienie zamyka amerykańska formacja Pro-Pain. Od ponad trzech dekad Gary Meskil i jego ekipa definiują brzmienie metal-hardcore crossovera. Od czasu debiutu Foul Taste of Freedom w 1992 roku pozostają jedną z najbardziej konsekwentnych sił na scenie, umiejętnie łącząc thrash metal z nowojorskim hardcorem w ramach dyskografii pełnej gatunkowych hymnów. Koncert w piątek, stanowiący celebrację 35-lecia zespołu, będzie obowiązkowym punktem programu dla każdego fana miażdżących groove’ów.

Obok nich pojawia się szczecińska legenda, The Analogs. Powstała w Szczecinie w 1995 roku formacja to dziś najbardziej rozpoznawalny polski zespół street punkowy, cieszący się ogromną popularnością nie tylko w kraju, ale i w całej Europie czy Ameryce Południowej. Od trzech dekad ich muzyka stanowi surową i szczerą kronikę brudnej rzeczywistości oraz społecznych problemów. Prekursorzy polskiego street punka przygotowali na tę okazję coś specjalnego: set złożony wyłącznie z klasyków z ich pierwszych, kultowych płyt, co dla lokalnej publiczności będzie wyjątkowym powrotem do korzeni polskiego podziemia.

Today, Iron Bonehead Productions sets June 5th as the international release date for Grabunhold's highly anticipated second album, Frostheim, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It's been five long years since Grabunhold's momentous debut album, Heldentod, which presented the "new old" sound of medieval black metal: Second Wave journeys through silent citadels, sequestered keeps, and dark dungeons, all done in a manner most Teutonic. While a split EP with Circle of Shadows arrived in 2023, the question still lingered: did the Germans still possess the steel to deliver a full-length as compelling - and compellingly modern, despite its ancient origins - as their debut?

On evidence of Frostheim, the answer is a resounding YES. While no great changes have been made to their sturdy aesthetic - songwriting that's expansive yet stridently classicist, production that's powerful in its sparkling sheen, and execution that ably balances pagan solemnity with northern bloodlust - on Grabunhold's sophomore album, there exists an uptick in dynamics that's both subtle and blanching. Perhaps it's the stained-glass melodicism that hammers its way to the fore, perhaps it's that production becoming an iron first lined with velvet, or perhaps it's some (cascading) combination of the two and magickal more, but Frostheim is a veritable sonic cathedral: each tone is a feast for the senses, and each tone supports a more-detailed but never-belabored palette, but all coalesce into burning-cold BLACK METAL that feels simultaneously decades ahead and behind all else. Of course, this all could be support color across a canvas of simply sterling songwriting, which somehow manages to mix emotion and grandeur in equal measure, and then the skill to perform it as needs to be...only Grabunhold know what fires their forge. Today, Greek heavy metallers Night Spectre premiere the new track "Night Spectre" at the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) YouTube channel. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Night Spectre, set for international release on May 22nd via Dying Victims Productions. Night Spectre was forged in 2024, when a group of stubborn metalheads united with one goal: to unleash pure old-school heavy metal, burning with passion and true devotion. From the very beginning, the band’s vision was clear – to compose, rehearse, and record the strongest debut they could before stepping into the world. After relentless dedication and countless hours of hard work, Night Spectre’s self-titled debut album is finally ready to be revealed.

Comprising eight tracks in 45 minutes, Night Spectre roars across the full spectrum of heavy metal, with straightforward songwriting channeling the essential roots of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and the NWOBHM scene through the U.S. steel of bands like Riot and Jag Panzer to the epic grandeur of Manowar, Bathory, and Manilla Road. At times, Night Spectre’s attack – be it march, gallop, stomp, or surge – sounds like all those bands at once and then like nothing else entirely; to be sure, there’s some strange magick brewing in their cauldron. Which underlines how important that songwriting is, that what you bring to a tradition and then build upon is what actually makes such tradition so vital – and in this sense, Night Spectre exude a wisdom far beyond their still-young years as a band. Lyrically, the album delves into themes of occult fantasies, historical heroes dying fighting, horror movies, and defiance of societal norms, all with an overarching atmosphere of classic swords & sorcery.

Formed in early 2014 by Argyris and Carnage, the idea behind Sicarius was to embody the fury and violent spirit of black metal. Drawing heavy inspiration from the artists of first- and second-wave acts from Scandinavia, Greece, and the US, Sicarius inject their potent cocktail of black metal with elements of American aggression like thrash, death metal, goth, and rock.

In 2024, the two would write and begin recording their long-awaited third album, Nex: a gritty and ultraviolent crime drama of an album, pulling influences from bands like Bathory, Rotting Christ, Dissection, Mayhem, Urghehal, Marduk, Absu, and fusing in elements from groups like Type O Negative. It would be here that Sicarius would welcome new vocalist Akefalos to the lineup, where his soaring vocal style would make its debut, replacing longtime vocalist K. Karcass.

Sicarius also contributed to a split released at the end of 2024 called We’ll Meet You Where the Ravens Circle with SoCal black metal band Withermoon, where the former would rewrite and rerecord two songs from their demo days.

Nex is the culminating flatline of the death and rebirth of a band too pissed off to stay deceased: a 10-track story about loss, death, retribution, and fury that honors tradition while being unafraid to venture on its own.

Sicarius is hungry, Sicarius is ready.

Drugi album GALIBOT w maju

 

GALIBOT is a melodic black metal band — but it is also the name given to children who were sent to work in the mines of northern France. And for good reason, as the quintet hails from there.

Initiated in 2023 by Thomas, Agathe and Clément, the project, initially a studio project, aims to establish a parallel between the raw and visceral dark matter that is coal and black metal music. Wallers-Arenberg, the name of the town where the project was born and which bears the scars of the mining industry, was the demo for what was still only a trio.

In 2024, “Euch’mau Noir” — “The Black Devil” in Ch’ti — was released, an album portraying the North as the devil’s cradle, a harsh and infernal land.

Following the release of their first album, ‘Euch’Mau Noir’, Galibot decided to try their hand at live performances, and Julian and Rob joined the band. This collaboration ultimately led them to write their second album together, this time as a five-piece, to be released next May on Les Acteurs de l’Ombre Productions.

“La Catabase” is the descent of the epic hero into the underworld; and where mythology gives it this definition, Galibot takes hold of it and turns the mine into that infernal dimension into which miners descended, only to be swallowed. In the wake of Euch Mau Noir, we continue to explore the dark and infernal identity of Northern France—but not only that.

With this new album, structured in two parts, we sometimes leave the mine behind to explore other infernal facets of Northern France, through its history, its folk legends, its landscapes… a macabre and spiritual epic!

The result is a more nuanced album, marked by more varied themes and compositions, as well as a stronger, more polished production. Galibot delivers an uncompromising record that explores, in its own way, slices of life from a violent past.

GALIBOT, will also be hitting the road to offer a cavernous live experience of fire and ashes.
