Podobno są legendą na hiszpańskiej scenie. Nie wiem, bo nigdy o uszy mi się nie obili. Powstali w 1991 roku i nie byli zbyt płodni, ponieważ obecnie wydają dopiero czwartą płytę. On July 18th internationally, EAL Productions is proud to present the striking debut recording from Der Märtyrer, self-titled Der Märtyrer.

More than just a fusion of its diverse influences, the collective Der Märtyrer first emerged aeons ago, birthed from a trance-like state induced by drugs, sleep-deprived experimentation with unconventional textures, and a relentless pursuit of a harsh dissonance capable of invoking both ancient and modern evils. The initial idea was to expand on the sonic universe unveiled by acts such as Mysticum and Blacklodge, and push further by seeking inspiration in the works of The Prodigy, Combichrist, Antaeus, Atari Teenage Riot, In Slaughter Natives, Aphex Twin, and many more... Over the years, four anthems were crafted—shaped, distorted, deconstructed, and reborn— through various unorthodox recording techniques, sound design research, and excessive layering, each one bearing the blood of various anonymous artists who contributed to the beast’s growth. The final manifestation of this creation is now revealed to the world in its ultimate ignominy through EAL Productions.

By now, Deceased need no introduction. One of the longest-running American death metal bands, since 1985, Deceased have been there for it all: death metal's genesis, its creative peak, its commercial peak and subsequent sink into trendiness, the eventual fallout and "un-trendiness," its rebirth at the hands of a new generation, and on and on. There they have stood, simply and 100% always Deceased, not caring what year it is or what is hip - simply, always, DEATH METAL FROM THE GRAVE!

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Deceased now present a literally MASSIVE 2CD compilation fittingly titled March of the Cadavers - 40 Years of Death Metal From the Grave. Königreichssaal / Nemesis Sopor / Czernina / Everdead

 

W sobotę 28 czerwca odbyła się kolejna edycja tej cyklicznej imprezy organizowanej przez Macieja, który jak zwykle stanął na wysokości zadania i zaprosił cztery niezłe kapele. To był gorący i zarazem duszny dzień, początek wakacji, więc nie sposób było siedzieć w domu, gdy grają w mieście takie brygady, gwarantujące udany koncert. Wsiadłem w samochód i pojechałem, zgarniając jak zwykle po drodze jesusatan’a po czym udaliśmy się prosto do śródmieścia, aby nacieszyć uszy hałasem na żywo. Po przybyciu na miejsce, wiadomo, skleiliśmy kilka piątek, pogadaliśmy wstępnie z paroma osobami, kupiliśmy piwko i nerwowo przydreptywaliśmy nóżkami w oczekiwaniu na występy.

 

Pierwszy na scenie pojawił się stargardzki EverdeaD, którego lider chcąc przypodobać się publiczności puścił w jej stronę kilka ciepłych słów. Kiedy już skończył gadać, rozpoczęło się death metalowe misterium, które wylało na zebraną pod sceną gawiedź sporo rzęsistych i ciężkich riffów w towarzystwie dobrze naoliwionej sekcji rytmicznej i brutalnych growli. Panowie zaprezentowali równiutko zagrany materiał, przy którym nie można się nudzić, bowiem stanowi on mieszankę wszystkiego co było w nim najlepsze w latach dziewięćdziesiątych. Z instrumentów i gardła wokalisty popłynęły agresywne nuty, częstując fuzją klasycznych ujęć śmierć metalowego grania. Można było usłyszeć i szalone, szatańskie riffy, które przeradzały się w gniotące zwolnienia, wybuchające nagle w krwiste ataki. Sztuka EverdeaD zagęściła doszczętnie już i tak skrajnie duszny klimat spowodowany pogodą i zabrała do świata, gdzie kostucha wraz z diabłem rządzi, przechadzając się pod rękę.

 

Po zwyczajowej przerwie na deski Over The Under Pub weszła Czernina, która określa swoją twórczość jako „experimental chaotic black metal” co jest chyba trafnym określeniem, ponieważ gdy rozpoczęli swój rytuał salę zalała fala połamanej i nieoczywistej gędźby. Raczej mało miała ona wspólnego z tradycyjną rogacizną, gdyż Szczecinianie ocierając się momentami wręcz o improwizacyjne rzępolenie, zapodali iście połamaną napierdalankę, w której wykorzystują nie tylko tremolo, ale mnóstwo elementów znanych ze sludge metalu, ciężkiego core’a i modernistycznego grania. Zrodziło to podmuch zmasowanego dźwięku, z którego wypływały co róż zmieniające swój kierunek spazmatyczne zagrywki. Jazgot, który posiadał swój porządek przechodził momentami w otumaniający noise. Nikł on i eksplodował na nowo przez cały czas trwania koncertu Czerniny nie dając spokoju, ale też wprowadzał w trans i dlatego też po zakończeniu tego spektaklu wyszedłem na zewnątrz z niemałymi zawrotami głowy, którą przewiać mi pozwoliła lekko schłodzona już o tej porze temperatura powietrza.

 

Nie zdążyłem w sumie do końca dojść do siebie po Czerninie, a na scenie pojawił się niemiecki Nemesis Sopor, który także zahipnotyzował całą salę tyle, że w odmienny i właściwy sobie sposób. Teutoni spowili pomieszczenie nastrojową atmosferą, którą budują za pomocą średnich i wolnych temp, przechodzących okresowo w opętańcze blasty. Jednakże podczas ich występu dominowało odczucie odrealnienia i czarnej melancholii. Ta swoista mgiełka była wręcz namacalna i pozwoliła odpłynąć zebranym w ten dzień fanom we wiadomym kierunku, ponieważ progresywne granie Nemesis Sopor nie tylko wypełniło ich występ, ale również i refleksyjne przerywniki, epickie solówki oraz szereg atonalnych rozwiązań. Całość płynęła z instrumentów Niemców dość długo i nasyciła chyba w pełni odbiorców, gdyż ich ujęcie black metalu, będące syntezą poetyckości i przeciwstawnych jej gwałtownych uczuć, doskonale zostało oddane przez tą kapelę na żywo, bo panowie dwoili się i troili, aby zadowolić maniaków, co zaowocowało doskonałą selektywnością, z której wychwycić można było wszystkie smaczki muzyki, a zwłaszcza specyficzną grę perkusisty, który tylko incydentalnie używał centralek, koncentrując się na górze swego zestawu, co dodatkowo uatrakcyjniło ten wykon.

 

Warto było wytrwać do końca, choć tego dnia byłem zmęczony i już zaczynałem ziewać, ponieważ występ kończącego tą edycję The Last Words Of Death, Königreichssaal dał radę. Nie słyszałem ich nigdy wcześniej, ale miło mnie zaskoczyli swą wizją black metalu, która swoją naturą może kojarzyć się z połączeniem Furii z Mord’ A ‘Stigmata. Może na początku powiało trochę polskim patosem, ale dalsza część to już była gęsta i pokręcona muza o wysokim stopniu oryginalności, która zmiotła mnie z podłogi. Inteligentne aranżacje, będące mieszanką gwałtownych i spokojniejszych, mistycznych zwolnień, zesłały sporą dawkę mroku i satanicznego klimatu, którego przedstawicielem w tym przypadku był nasz rodzimy diabeł Boruta. Bowiem ze zdecydowanych akordów, powykręcanych zagrywek i chorobliwej aury dźwięków kreowanych przez Opolan bez wątpienia zalatuje polskością, pomimo że Königreichssaal potrafi w swych udziwnieniach skręcić także we francuskie rejony. Ich koncert był nasączony czymś upiornym i barbarzyńskim. Intensywne i robiące mętlik w szarych komórkach granie, zassało mnie do samych czeluści piekła, ale nie tylko moją osobę, gdyż publika wpadła w ekstazę i nie chciała wypuścić muzyków ze sceny, a ci odwdzięczyli się bisem i tak zostawiając niedosyt.

 

Cóż, wszystko co dobre szybko się kończy i te kilka godzin na ostatnim wydaniu The Last Words Of Death również musiało dobiec kresu. Edycja jak zwykle udana. Zestaw brygad zadowalający. Szkoda tylko, że pomimo pierwszego dnia wakacji frekwencja była tak niska. Nie wiem co zatrzymało wszystkich nieobecnych w domach, ale niech żałują i jednocześnie stawią się w sierpniu, aby jeszcze bardziej uświetnić 32 epizod w historii, bo underground to nie tylko zespoły, lecz również my, fani. Tradycyjnie podziękowania dla Macieja za starania, które niestety doceniło pod sceną tym razem tylko 89 osób. Super edycja! Dzięki Maciej i wszystkim za miłe pogawędki. Nie wiem tylko czy jesusatan jest zadowolony, bo chyba żadnej płyty nie wyżebrał, ale w drodze powrotnej nic nie mówił zatem wszystko być może było z jego punktu widzenia ok. Sorry, zapomniałem, przecież wyżebrał dla mnie Czerninę.

Niezwykle ucieszył mnie zatem fakt, że panowie postanowili kontynuować dzieło zniszczenia, i relatywnie szybko, przynajmniej w ich przypadku, dają o sobie znać. Today, Hells Headbangers announces August 29th as the international release date for Deathhammer's highly anticipated sixth album, Crimson Dawn, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

By now, Deathhammer need no introduction. For 20 years strong, this insatiable Norwegian duo have seemingly been at the forefront of the still-burgeoning blackthrash movement; in fact, one could successfully argue that the band largely jumpstarted that resurgence and have continued to be its kings. However, "blackthrash" by definition undersells Deathhammer's irresistible (and irresistibly evil) charm: from 2010's Phantom Knights cult debut album on to the furious pair of 2012's Onward to the Pits and 2015's Evil Power - both of which were released by Hells Headbangers to widespread international acclaim - sole members Sadomancer and Sergeant Salsten have steadfastly played both thrash metal AND black metal. But most importantly, Deathhammer play HEAVY METAL - raging metal, evil metal, whatever you want to call it - and the next pair of 2018's Chained to Hell and 2022's Electric Warfare cemented that eternal metal magick.

As it goes in the Deathhammer world, full-lengths may take some time - at least three years, sometimes four - but when they arrive, they remind the underground why these Norwegians are still so vital...and VIOLENT. Witness their sixth album, Crimson Dawn. Aptly titled, Crimson Dawn rips and rages with characteristically OTT power - a riot of violence, an expurse of sodomy, utterly infernal overkill - and the blood flows freely across Nordic snow. But, for however consistent Deathhammer may be, it all underlines how stout and invigorating their songwriting is to begin with. Credit that to the duo's unique interplay, both from a compositional and technical standpoint.

Recorded with all-new equipment, Crimson Dawn marks the first time Sadomancer and Sergeant Salsten played guitar on each other's songs; prior to this record, the two would exclusively play guitar on the songs they each wrote. As a result, it all sounds like Deathhammer but most definitely a more dynamic one, rendered all the more powerfully with their best drum production to date. The album was mixed by fellow maniac Arild M. Torp (Nekromantheon / Abhorration) - "It sounds just as violent as we hoped for," says Sadomancer - and he even rips a guest solo on "Legacy of Pain." Other guests include Bowel Ripper of Impugner with a nasty solo on "Stygian Lust," a track that has riffs dating back almost 20 years.

Above all, Crimson Dawn once again proves that Deathhammer are able to play 666-megaton metal but skillfully show a variety of sides to it, from ultra-violent ragers to mid-tempo gallops to even "epic shit," such as the truly-titled climactic closer "Into the Blackness of Hell." Nowy album INFERNAL THORNS we wrześniu

 

On September 12th internationally, Personal Records is proud to present Infernal Thorns' highly anticipated third album, Christus Venari, on CD format.

Infernal Thorns was founded in 2003 by Andrés Arancibia in the city of Valparaíso, Chile. The band was active for three years, although intermittently, due to constant lineup changes. During that period, two singles were recorded: "Impious Bloodbath" and "The Cross Falls With God."

After a long hiatus, in 2016, Infernal Thorns began recording their debut album, Diabolical Goat Presence, which was recorded with session musicians and independently released at the end of 2017. With the album completed, the search began for permanent members to perform the material live, leading to the addition of Christian Glavich on drums, Daniel Pérez (King Heavy, ex-Procession) on bass, and Aquiles Espinoza on guitar.

At the beginning of 2018, a national tour was launched, consisting of 18 dates across Chile. During the tour, Rodrigo Serrano (ex-Massacre) joined the band, replacing Aquiles Espinoza. With this lineup, the tour was completed, and work began on new material for what would become the second album. In mid-2019, recording sessions for the album Inflicting Ravage to the Holy Cattle began, which was released the next year.

In 2022, the EP Keep The Bastard Under Torture was released independently, leading to a subsequent lineup change with Paolo Fernández replacing Christian Glavich on drums. With him, the band began shaping the songs that would become part of a third LP.

In 2024, Infernal Thorns entered Audiocustom Studio to record their fourth release, the album Christus Venari. Produced by Seba Puente, Christus Venari is the fullest, foulest display of Infernal Thorns' all-too-considerable powers. No longer hidden in the shadows, the band's third full-length boldly and brazenly conveys what's been simmering for so long - that Infernal Thorns are the near-perfect symbiosis of northern black metal melody and southern death metal ultraviolence. Put another way, Christus Venari sounds similar to peak '90s Necrophobic crossed with comeback-era Atomic Aggressor; indeed, Infernal Thorns are that good, and have been for years now. Across nine songs in 39 minutes, the quartet vomit forth a brand of death / black metal infected with various strains of dark and suffocating force - again, a blend of extreme metal schools where rawness meets outstanding craftsmanship in terms of breaks, speed, structure, and rhythm - resulting in an album that resonates with haunting, hammering songwriting and utterly crushing execution. Which is to say nothing of the solos and leads, which are controlled chaos incarnate...the mind will melt!

Ja pierdolę, jak ja kocham takie wydawnictwa. Totalnie czuję się jakbym nadal był w podstawówce a kalendarz wskazywał roku dziewięćdziesiąty. Dzierżę w dłoni kasetę magnetofonową zawierającą dwa kompletnie Mie nieznane (nic dziwnego, bo to debiutanci) zespoły, słucham jej na zapętleniu i przestać nie mogę. Finnish death metal force MALFORMED will soon unleash their debut full-length via Dark Descent Records and Extremely Rotten Productions.

Confinement of Flesh is a violent blend of classic American death metal—characterized by the brutality and musicianship of the genre's originators—mixed with the gloominess of their Finnish contemporaries. MALFORMED draws influence from the eerie atmosphere that early Finnish death metal bands established and made a hallmark of the national scene.

From heavy grooves to frenzied blast beats, Confinement of Flesh pushes their sound even further. It's a more refined and mature continuation of their earlier work, sure to satisfy existing fans and attract new ones. The album was recorded by MALFORMED, produced and engineered by Felix Pennanen (Disguised Malignance), and mastered to perfection by Lasse at Ballade Studios.
