Necrocene to kolejny przedstawiciel staroszkolnego death metalu. Zespół na scenie nowy, choć ludzie wchodzący w jego skład swoją obecność w światki metalowym zdążyli już zaznaczyć. Nie będę tu jednak wymieniał konkretnych nazw, gdyż kompletnie nic mi one nie mówią. Like a meteor plunging through outer space with one target in mind – Planet Earth – Gothenburg’s Armory have been launching alien speed metal invasions across the globe since 2012. The fiery stars of Judas Priest, Agent Steel, and Slayer have been their guiding light, but Armory have magickally managed to make manifest their own unique, vast world across three albums and last year’s Black Star EP.

That EP, while still within the orbit of their characteristic sound, kicked things into overdrive – but with the imminent release of their fourth album, Echoes of the Astrolith, Armory truly kick things into an even higher gear. Fans will recognize the arrival of new turbo-laser vocalist C. Rostoff, who immediately makes his presence known. Unclean and unsafe, Blasphemaniac are devoted to Satanic fanaticism and resurrect the radical, blasphemous, and pornographic primitivism of the '90s, with a sound inspired by the obscure classics of the '80s. Always purging the presence of contemporary sterility and its algorithmic logic, seeking a narcotic and shameless impurity in its tones and verses, these Brazilians know no half-measures here, blending lyrics in English and Portuguese throughout the repertoire. Today, Werewolf Records announces November 13th as the international release date for Satanic Warmaster's highly anticipated eighth album, Drachenkreuz, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

Satanic Warmaster needs no introduction. Since the band's formation in 1998, founder Werwolf has prolifically - and provocatively - stoked fires that refuse to be quenched. A totally independent artist in all aspects, Satanic Warmaster has sold hundreds of thousands of albums internationally and played stages all across the world, from north to south and east to west. The band's black metal is devoutly traditional but eternally fruitful, standing as an immovable monument to the purest and proudest foundations of the artform. As such, Satanic Warmaster is hated and loved with equally strong passion, with those naysayers only feeding that fire with falsehoods and gross misconceptions. There is no middle ground: no apologies, and no surrender.

As has been sagely sung in the past, in times of strife, Satanic Warmaster returns. Enter Drachenkreuz, the band's eighth full-length to date. While 2024's Exultation of Cruelty was a concerted strive for older and more primitive pastures, Drachenkreuz functions as something of a companion album to 2022's majestic Aamongandr. In fact, the roots of Drachenkreuz were recorded during the Aamongandr sessions, with the idea to record two albums at once, but Werwolf finalized Drachenkreuz later and with a different approach. Mind you, Drachenkreuz is still Satanic Warmaster and immediately so - rippling second-wave melodicism shot through with tragedy and triumph, antagonism and aristocracy - but its similarly varied songcraft conveys a much-larger headspace than is usually customary for stridently rigid parameters. As such, one will find a splendorous panorama spanning paradigmatic Norsecore to proto-bestiality and various points in between: effectively, not unlike modern classic Carelian Satanist Madness but with an even-wider spectrum.

That Drachenkreuz's soundfield remains so authentically dungeonic and yet richly detailed and almost sparkling underlines the alchemical magick this record so uniquely possesses. And as the album moves from one song to the next, each one as distinct as the last, a sense of world-building is established: indeed "Nosferatu's Land," with Werwolf surveying the rotten-yet-regal landscape from the highest tower. Spot the heroic guitar solos on stage-setting opener "Rex Typhonis" and hulking title track "The Dragon's Cross" as well as the warlusting backing vocals on the barbaric combo of "Infernal Armageddon" and "Christrape," and disparate threads of experience are sewn together with that same alchemy. Let the "Winds of Eternal War" blow!

EYES OF AGONY szykują debiut dla AWAKENING RECORDS

 

Today, Awakening Records announces the signing of Eyes of Agony. The first fruit of this union will be the band’s debut album, When They Return, which will see international release later this year.

An Italian studio-based death metal quintet, Eyes of Agony combine a traditional OSDM sonority with a modern aesthetic on their full-length debut, When They Return. The project features mastermind / guitarist Danny Cinicolo (Excidium, Maleficarum), vocalist Andrea Zanetti (Iconoclast, Maleficarum), drummer Davide Billia (Beheaded, Hour Of Penance), guitarist Massimo Boffa (Mind Control, Halley), and bassist Fabrizio “Jesus” Biondi (Mechanical God Creation, Art Of Silence).

Inspired by top-notch extreme metal bands such as Immolation, Nile, At the Gates, Cannibal Corpse, and Death, the album’s nine blistering tracks are decorated with melodic guitar harmonies, dramatic guitar solos, razor-sharp riffs, and a dominant rhythm section, which are all beautifully combined with horrific guttural growls. Mixed and mastered by Luca Nicolucci at Comet Broadcasting Studio, When They Return possesses a clear-yet-gritty tone with a diverse death metal aesthetic.

Guitarist Danny Cinicolo spoke about the album’s writing process: "The first writing of the songs were made many years ago after a long period of silence with my personal writing in Excidium and Maleficarum. After a long time of compositions, I finished all the tracks and searched for the right musicians for this band. Of course, I started from my old vocalist in Maleficarum, Andrea Zanetti, and together we decided to complete the lineup and record the debut album."

On signing with Awakening Records, "I am so happy that I contacted Awakening Records when I was promoting our EPK with the album streaming," Cinicolo enthuses. "[Label owner] Li Meng is a really great person, and I was very fortunate to get in touch with him. He told me that he really listened to the album a lot of times and that he was very impressed with the quality. So, he offered us a deal to be a part of Awakening Records, and we accepted because his label is killer!"

For the first time in their 30-year career, Brazilian death metal group NervoChaos delivers a song performed entirely in Portuguese, bringing the full weight and identity of the band into their native tongue. Titled “Lorde dos Mortos,” the song serves as the second preview from their fourteenth album, Chaosmongers, set for release on 13 November 2026 via Black Lion Records on 13 November 2026 on CD and vinyl as well as digitally; while Tumba Records licenses the CD and vinyl editions for Brazil.

Drawing on chaos as its central creative force, the album contains twelve tracks, eleven of which are new, alongside “Porcos Sanguinários,” a tribute to the legendary Brazilian band Ratos de Porão. Chaosmongers is a work that connects the cosmos, the occult, and human resilience, and is open to various interpretations, rejecting linear narratives and allowing listeners to create their own reading. At its core, an entity traverses death, explores unknown realms, faces suffering, and becomes sovereign of a kingdom beyond our understanding. This narrative reflects a personal journey through downfall, self-discovery, transformation, and empowerment. This duality is present throughout the album. The compositions act as narrative, atmosphere, and reflection, providing diverse experiences within a single work. The music video for “Lorde dos Mortos” was produced and scripted by Brazilian horror filmmaker Rodrigo Aragão, carrying the spirit of Brazil’s legendary horror tradition into the world of NervoChaos.

Slovak Progressive Metallers IONS have released the official video for new single, "Entropy of Me," via Willowtip Records. The track features new vocalist Daniel Handak and is available on all streaming platforms.

Handak adds that, "'Entropy of Me' tries to capture inner dialogue with our overthinking brain, and the slow acceptance that sometimes it can trap us with guilt and unfounded fears. I often try to remind myself not to believe everything that I come across in my brain, and this song is one more reminder for myself and hopefully for others as well."

Reflecting on his experience as a new member recording a new single, Handak went on to say that, "while working on this song, I felt a bit paralyzed at first, since this was supposed to be the first song with the new lineup. I wanted it to be good, as you can imagine. But only once I finally let go of this fear that I wouldn't be able to fulfill some expectations, did we come up with some great lines and finish the song. I’m very happy with how it turned out and super excited to hear what you guys think about it."

Technical death metal band VICTIMS OF CONTAGION release new album ‘EGREGORE.” The album pushes the band’s blend of intricate, high-speed neoclassical arrangements and progressive structures to new levels. Elements of old-school death metal violently collide with polyrhythmic compositions to create a new blueprint for the band’s dynamic style.

VICTIMS OF CONTAGION, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, were formed in 2007. After spending years on the underground touring circuit while releasing a string of independent demos, the band released their debut EP “Parasitic Unborn,” in 2014 and followed it up with their debut full-length “Lamentations of the Flesh Bound,” in 2019.

‘EGREGORE,’ is composed of high-energy extremity with hyper-accelerated tempos and blackened tremolo passages that seamlessly fuse with majestic atmospheres and crushing grooves. Every note was written, played and recorded with painstaking attention to detail, each passing second delving further into the darkness within.

Skoncentrował się w zamian na Giants Dwarfs And Black Holes,  tworze o kompletnie innej, zupełnie nieprzemawiającej do mnie stylistyce. On November 6th internationally, Personal Records is proud to present a brand-new mini-album from Hagel, The Veil of Shadows, on CD format.

Hagel are a black-doom metal band from Monterrey, Mexico. Formed in 1995 by Carlos Velázquez (guitar), Luis Galindo (keyboards and vocals), Fernando Galindo (bass), and David Benavides (drums), the band emerged from the underground scene of northern Mexico. Between 1995 and 2000, Hagel developed an identity that fused dark melodies, dense atmospheres, and a melodic approach characteristic of '90s black metal. The band dissolved in 2000 following the departure of Luis Galindo, leaving behind songs that remained unreleased at the time.

Hagel draw influence from the atmospheric and melodic darkness of bands such as early Moonspell, Rotting Christ, Ophthalamia, Mortuary Drape, Katatonia, Empyrium, Samael, and Tiamat, blending these elements into a ritualistic and melancholic black-doom metal identity. As considerable as their critically acclaimed debut album was, the swift-yet-satisfying The Veil of Shadows crystalizes this identity with arguably the band's most powerful, poignant material to date: ancient mysticism writ large across a five-song / 21-minute canvas.

Totaling six songs across 22 minutes, Invoking the Noumenon / Crushing the Feeble Messianic Embrace unites Greece's Embrace of Thorns and Chile's Invocation, each offering three exclusive new tracks. For nearly 30 years, Embrace of Thorns have been crafting a considerable catalog of blackened, bestial death metal of a most ancient order. With two martial, bulldozing doses of that characteristic bestiality plus a tensely hushed outro serving as a bridge between both sides, their reunification with Iron Bonehead here is also their first recorded work since 2022's towering Entropy Dynamics. Pacific Northwest Death Metal legion Paralicyst have released their debut EP, Destruction of Sanity! Drawing inspiration from titans like Obituary, Malevolent Creation, and Cannibal Corpse, the band blends punishing riffs, crushing rhythms, and savage vocal assaults into a sound that feels both nostalgic and devastatingly fresh.

The new EP packages a range of styles within a traditional death metal framework. Old school and thrashing death, shades of the blackened, and slamming intensity, it's all here and it's all devastating!

Forged in the chaos of 2019, Paralicyst emerged from the PNW metal scene with a mission to channel the raw power and uncompromising spirit of classic death metal.

The band’s early formation included guitarist Ray Eversole (Cruciation, Tormentium), bassist Nik Harris ( Digitalviolence, Monday With A Bullet, In The Name of God), and drummer Greg Kholer (Gods in Graves, Cruciation, Father Figure, CIA Hippie Mind Control). In 2022 the lineup solidified with Lou of Malevolent Supremacy and Lude joining on vocals, further sharpening the band’s sonic assault.
