The third French act revealed this week, Viande will deliver one of the most suffocating and oppressive sonic offerings on this year’s bill. Their debut full-length, "L’Abîme Dévore Les Âmes" (2022, Transcending Obscurity Records), carved a deep scar into the present-days death/black underground - an album defined by cavernous density, ritualistic atmosphere, and complete emotional ruin.
Viande draws from the dissonant chaos of Portal and the subterranean weight of Incantation, infusing industrial decay and doom-laced collapse into their sound. What they bring is no nostalgia trip - it's a blackened death metal descent sharpened to an edge.
At PRAGUE DEATH MASS V., Viande will offer no comfort.
