On May 5th internationally, Antiq is proud to present Möhrkvlth's highly anticipated second album, Gwenojennoù An Ankounac’h.

Formed in 2014, Möhrkvlth is a Breton black metal band located in Finistère, France. With influences spanning Scandinavian black metal, French pagan / black, and Metal Noir Québécois, the band released a demo in January 2016, a split with Garhelenth in December 2016, and their debut album, A-dreñv Ar Vrumenn, in July 2018. After a change of lineup, Möhrkvlth return this May with their second album, Gwenojennoù An Ankounac’h.

Gwenojennoù An Ankounac’h comprises six songs in 44 minutes, featuring a totally overhauled lineup (except for founder Grégory Person), all of which expand the essence of Möhrkvlth whilst keeping the band's fundaments. The band's second album (English translation: "Paths of Forgetfulness") is built upon atmospheric-yet-aggressive riffs which develop on a fast black metal base and then reach peaks of pagan epicness. The songs are very melancholic - in the lyrics, there's even a poem by celebrated Breton poet Añjela Duval - and the texts evolve around the themes of war, horrors of the past, the forsaken people of rural life, sacred themes, mystical landscapes, and the cold season. Sometimes, choirs come to haunt the foggy stream of black metal... Altogether, Möhrkvlth create a uniquely traditionalist soundworld with Gwenojennoù An Ankounac’h, and point the way forward for Breton black metal as an international idiom.

Antiq is a label dedicated to the fully coherent concept of making music through sound, image, video, and attitude. They have been putting their entire existence into it since 2009. Over the years, Antiq have been identified as producers of not only perfectly coherent lyrics and themes through music, but also conceptual art and, of course, the manufacturing of beautiful objects. The label tries as much as it can to work with French creators, and if possible, with the smallest and most serious structures.
