Today, Terratur Possessions announces February 20th as the international release date for the highly anticipated self-titled debut album of Diabolus, Mecum Semperterne! on CD and vinyl LP formats. Worldwide distribution is handled by Amor Fati Productions.
Diabolus, Mecum Semperterne! emerged from a shared vision of what orthodox black metal truly is—and always will be. The project unites four distinct yet fiercely dedicated individuals, each bringing decades of unwavering devotion to the music and ethos of black metal.
It began when Cernunnus—known from Manes, Manii, and countless other endeavors—reached out with riffs and ideas rooted back to the early '90s. His longtime confidante K.R. (Whoredom Rife, Bloodthorn), with whom he had strangely never collaborated despite a friendship spanning over three decades, was immediately committed.
As concepts evolved in collaboration with Terratur Possessions, it became clear that inviting B. Kråbøl (Misotheist, Enevelde) and E. Blix (Mare, Djevel, Vemod, Kaosritual) would enrich the lineup. These two represent different generations, yet both have repeatedly proven their uncompromising dedication to black metal.
The result? Forty-five minutes of pure, unadulterated BLACK METAL unlike anything you've heard before.
Is it truly original? Of course not—nor does black metal need to be. Does it evoke the shadowy glory of the old masters while delivering an otherworldly sonic journey—from the genre’s primordial beginnings to our modern dystopia? Absolutely.
Without further ado, plunge into the abyss that is Diabolus, Mecum Semperterne! Let us make black metal great again!
