Nowa EPka IN THOUSAND LAKES we wrześniu

Spanish melodic Death Metal band IN THOUSAND LAKES have just revealed the cover art, tracklist and 1st advance single of what will be their new 7-song EP that will be entitled "Evolution" which will be released through Xtreem Music next September 25th.

      "Evolution" contains 6 new tracks and a cover version of the classic "Breaking the Chains" by DOKKEN in which they have the collaboration with a guitar solo by Pedro J. Monge (VHÄLDEMAR) and vocalist Leire Tejada. This new work has been registered at Chromaticity Studios (VHÄLDEMAR, VALKYRIA, RISE TO FALL...) and in it we find quite varied compositions where the band influences range from european melodic Death Metal, through Heavy, to Thrash Metal, Progressive...

La banda española de Death Metal melódico IN THOUSAND LAKES acaban de revelar el arte de la portada, tracklist y 1er single de adelanto de lo que será su nuevo EP de 7 canciones que llevará por título "Evolution" que saldrá editado a través de Xtreem Music el próximo 25 de Septiembre.

  "Evolution" contiene 6 temas nuevos y una versión del clásico "Breaking the Chains" de DOKKEN en el que han contado con la colaboración con un solo de guitarra de Pedro J. Monge (VHÄLDEMAR) y la vocalista Leire Tejada. Este nuevo trabajo ha sido registrado en los Chromaticity Studios (VHÄLDEMAR, VALKYRIA, RISE TO FALL...) y en él encontramos unas composiciones muy variadas en donde quedan reflejadas todas las influencias de la banda que van desde el Death Metal melódico de corte europeo, pasando por el Heavy Metal, el Thrash Metal, Progresivo...

Recenzja Undeath - Sentient Autolysis

„Sentient Autolysis”

W szerokim świecie powiadają, że młodzi kończą wcześniej. Plotki plotkami, jednak w przypadku Amerykańców z Undeath by się to nawet zgadzało. Nie minęło bowiem nawet pół roku, odkąd to recenzowałem tutaj ich debiutanckie demo, a tu nagle bach! Mamy następcę „Demo’19”. Widać, że w chłopakach energia wrze i kipi, gdyż ponownie pod szyldem Caligari dostarczają nam 16 minut nowych pomysłów podzielonych na cztery części. Czy coś się zmieniło? I tak, i nie. Młodziaki nadal obracają się w staroszkolnym death metalu. Nadal tworzą muzę na wysokim poziomie. Wciąż bardziej im w głowie piwniczny brud niż polerowane i dwukrotnie woskowane Ferrari. Te elementy działają w przypadku Nie-Śmierdź na plus. Zresztą dziwnym byłoby, gdyby nagle zaczęli grać jułesewej-polo, co nie? Zmiany jednak są i to dość znaczne. Otóż chłopaki zmienili nieco front i z Nowojorskiego grania spod znaku choćby Immolation bardzo zdecydowanie skręcili w stronę Cannibal Corpse. W zasadzie w każdym kawałku można odnaleźć więcej niż pierwiastki zespołu dowodzonego obecnie przez pana Karka Fishera, zwłaszcza takie kojarzące się z płytami od „Bloodthirst” w górę. Nie jest to absolutnie żaden zarzut, jednak dla mnie jest to poniekąd stosowanie patentów zbytnio już wyeksploatowanych. Ponadto, jako iż nieskomplikowany raczej ze mnie chłop, na debiutanckim demo Undeath uderzała mnie prostota tej muzyki, jej prymitywizm. Najwyraźniej trio dojrzało i zapragnęło wykazać się swoimi umiejętnościami, gdyż na „Sentient Autolysis” mamy kilka momentów, gdy w topornie kręcone riffy wplatają techniczne łamańce i malutkie popisy gitarowe. I jest to zdecydowanie element, który pasuje mi tutaj jak pięść do nosa. Może jestem ograniczony, nie przeczę, jednak zdecydowanie byłbym bardziej kontent, gdyby Undeath nadal łupało prymitywnie i bez zbytnich ekscesów. Nie twierdzę, że nowe demo jest złe, absolutnie. Nadal słucha się tego z dużą dozą zadowolenia, jednak mam taki ubytek, iż zazwyczaj porównuję. A w tym porównaniu widzę jednak mały, bo mały, ale spadek formy. Na szczęście wszystko w ramach przyzwoitości, więc każdy maniak śmierć metalu może spokojnie wydawać na tą kasetkę kilka dolarów bez obawy, że wtopi. Zdecydowanie szybciej jednak odstawiłem ten materiał Undeath na bok niż demo numer jeden. Mam jednak nadzieję, że na nagraniu numer trzy chłopaki ostatecznie odnajdą swój styl. Jeśli będzie on pośrednią między pierwszym a drugim demo, to myślę, że będzie to coś mocnego. Tego sobie życzę.

Album was mixed & mastered by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy a.o.) and artwork is done by Remedy Art Design (Oceans Of Slumber, Evergrey). ‘Circles Of Despair’ displays a more diverse and melodic approach to their sound, without giving in on speed and anger at all. No fillers, just killers!
