Można obczaić nowy LOST LEGION

Swedish black/thrash unit Last Legion unleashed their debut full-length, Metall, Blod & Aska, through Grind to Death Records on 17 February.

Formed in 2009 by Christian (guitars) and Andreas (bassist), Last Legion set foot on a darker path, forging a more blackened thrash sound when Tomas (drummer) and Olle (vocalist) joined the ranks in 2016. The release of the 2018’s demo, Krutdoft, inaugurated a new era for the band, and with the release of the 2021’s cassette EP, Division Skaraborg, together with Urkraft Fanzine in 2021, the legion has sharpened the sound even more. Before assembling the current lineup, the Skövde, Västra Götaland-based troop previously brought up two more demos with a different drummer and vocalist, having the founding members’ service in possession.

Metall, Blod & Aska (“Metal, Blood & Ashes” in English), the debut album of Last Legion, centers around the themes of war and death while occasionally emitting antireligious fulminations. Although Last Legion’s sound on the album irrefutably gave the nod to the first wave of speedy black metal ancestors, the overall strength is rooted in the Scandinavian forces of the ‘90s, ensuring a more rampant and intense climate. Having five brand-new tracks and three re-written and sped-up tracks from the demo releases, the album is a bloodstained testimony to Last Legion’s impending triumph on the battlefield.
