OCTOBER TIDE pracują nad nową płytą

Fredrik Norrman (ex-Katatonia, ex-Trees Of Eternity, Thenighttimeproject) finds the new material "less doomish" in comparison to the band's past works, that stretch from 1997's "Rain Without End" to 2019's "In Splendor Below".

"What to say about the sound? It’s definitley a step away from the doom genre we have been stuck in. Its more death metal in an oldschool kind of way. Its still October Tide but with a touch of the past," states Norrman.

The recordings will commence in May at the Swedish studio Gröndahl with Karl Daniel Lidén (Bloodbath, Katatonia) behing the consol desk. Later they'll move to the memeber's home studio and back again to Lidén, who'll mix and master the album.

OCTOBER TIDE's history traces back to the epicentrer of melodic death metal in Sweden and comprises founding member and long-time Katatonia guitarist, Fredrik Norrman, who launched OTOBER TIDE alongside Jonas Renske (Bloodbath, Katatonia) as a two-piece in 1995. The present day line-up has evolved and expanded into Fredrik on guitars, his brother Mattias Norrman (ex-Katatonia) also on guitars, Alexander Högbom (ex-Demonical) on vocals, Johan Jönsegård (Letters From The Colony) on bass, and Jonas Sköld (Letters From The Colony / Thenighttimeproject) on drums. Their music lands in the category of melodic death metal intertwined with doom by a plethora of meticulously designed guitar lines that traverse a vast terrain; from colder & aggressive compositions, to warmer & nostalgic notes.
