Debiut DWELLNOUGHT w lutym

Today, Caligari Records announces February 20th as the international release date for Dwellnought's highly anticipated debut album, Monolith of Ephemerality, on CD format.

Dwellnought are aptly monikered. Formed in 2023 in the gloominess of Varese, Italy, theirs is a sound that's akin to smokestack many miles high - and below. Witness their debut full-length, Monolith of Ephemerality. Also aptly titled, Monolith of Ephemerality is a starting point composed by a crushing doom foundation rotted into blackened atmospheres. Where you go next with it is your choice...

For sure, Dwellnought's Italian roots are on display with the rustic doom rumble underpinning their ruined ruminations. However, the quartet's songwriting drifts off into dread landscapes and cosmic horrors not unlike the Australian vanguard of blackened doom ala Elysian Blaze and Ill Omen or the more deathened end of such, such as Grave Upheaval and Temple Nightside. It goes without saying that their sound is literally MASSIVE.

The element of ephemerality is expressed in the form through which the sound waves want to express themselves, creating an utterly absorbing, overwhelming experience. As such, Monolith of Ephemerality unfolds as a sonic ritual: slow movements of crushing matter, blackened currents eroding the surface, noise interludes as evocation. Each passage reinforces the illusion of stability while accelerating into eerie dissolution.

This record is a liberation that leads the listener toward the transcendence of higher and further dimensions. Dwellnought gives sound to this process.

In the meantime, hear the brand-new track "Crystalized Flesh Identities Condensed Into Wombs of Matter" HERE at Caligari's Bandcamp, where the album can also be preordered. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
