BANDS UPDATE TO SPICE IT UP!

This update of the festival line-up is made not just of your meat and potatoes bands you would generally expect from established metal festival as we were focusing on bringing in more exotic flavours that are not usually consumed by large crowds of metalheads. However we know that BA fans are special and hence deserve some special spice! Enjoy!

Cult originators of retro-avant-garde Laibach are making one of their ultra-rare festival appearances at this years’ BA! The retro-avant-garde of Laibach is an artform ranging from graphics, paintings, videos and installations, to concerts and performances, creatively questioning artistic ‘quotation’, appropriation, re-contextualisation, copyright and copy-left. Although starting out as both an art and music collective, Laibach became internationally renowned foremost on the music scene, particularly with their unique cover-versions and interpretations of hits by Queen, the Rolling Stones or Beatles.

Green Carnation both precede and are a natural successor of the experimental/avant-garde trailblazers In the Woods... and since its namesake blossoms first appearance, peering from beneath the permafrost of Norways winter, each successive Green Carnation album is a welcome sight in the dreary sameness of general scene and their set at BA 2018 will be musical sight not to miss.

The ultimate melodicity of the renowned Swedish progressives Pain of Salvation may be even too sweet to swallow for general BA crowd, however the raw emotions cloaked in dark, progressive polyrhythms and challenging syncopations, brilliantly darkened keys and percussive muscle will serve as a diversification of blasting metal elements at this years BA.

Fans of alternative approaches towards both life and music can look forward for KrishnaCore mantras of positive drug-free attitude to life of the 90’s spawned by Ray Cappo’s project Shelter. US based trouble-makers Wisdom in Chains will kick some ass with their killer street rock mixed up with some heavy old school hardcore and Oi! while Manchester hardcore youngbloods Broken Teeth! will do their big BA debut after stirring up the European underground intensively for the past two years.

Another fascinating hot spice for the lineup will be the experimental hardcore-based synth-driven technical mix of styles of Rolo Tomassi, who are expressing themselves with loud, energetic vibrancy and intelligence that is not cloaked in any gimmickry, macho posturing or stupid imagery while from the opposite side of the hardcore spectrum we will have Evergreen Terrace, who trail their own path with their powerful combination of melodic hardcore and punk-rock strains.

Swiss pioneers Messiah-Official quickly acquired a sworn fan base in the 80’s underground, however the band has dissolved due individualism of the respective band members. However, the timeless thrashing madness has never been forgotten by the loyal fanbase and after 14 years of silence since the brief reanimation in 2003 Messiah-Official are now back and will take BA by storm!

Iceland has spawned many of the contemporary black metal finest acts and this small indigenous but prolific scene is sending ambassadors from Misþyrming, yet the Icelandic domination over the avantgarde dark music scene of Europe might be disputed by Ulsect. Ulsect are born of collaboration between Dodecahedron and Textures members and their music shifts from dense death metal dissonance to lucent avant-garde atmosphere.

NERVOCHAOS were established in São Paulo in 1996 and have been spawning aggressive and chaotic music shredding the barriers of death metal and hard core ever since while touring the world and this year they will debut our festival! Even more exotic in their origin and dedicated to sheer musical brutality are progenitors of Indonesian BDM scene Jasad, who will torture European sickos for the first time ever!

Last but not least, get ready for one truly party experience with Steve'n'Seagulls, undoubtedly one-of-a-kind band from Finland playing bluegrass versions of notoriously known metal classics. Have you ever dance at BA listening to agro country versions of Iron Maiden?

Posthuman Abomination "Transcending Embodiment"

Posthuman Abomination may be an epithet freshly inscribed in the annals of annihilation, but this brutal death metal machine was spawned in the imaginations of men well versed in the arts of clinical cruelty. Bringing together current and ex- members of Devangelic, Fecal God, Natrium, Modus Deliciti, Pit Of Toxic Slime and Vomit The Soul, Posthuman Abomination is an elite unit of twisted, bludgeoning, blasting, technical death metal destruction. Originally formed as a long distance, collaborative studio side project, the members of Posthuman Abomination quickly realised they had summoned to life something far too potent and powerful to be given anything less than their full devotion and dedication. 

Their 2017 demo, Crafting Life, drew the attention of Comatose Music – one of the world’s leading labels when it comes to all things malevolent and battering. An alliance was quickly forged and now it is time to unveil the first diseased fruits of this union – Transcending Embodiment! 

From the opening, title track onwards Transcending Embodiment is a full frontal assault on the senses. The guitars weave intricate razor wire patterns around your body, neatly and effectively dissecting the flesh while the bass and drums pound your bones to dust. Vocalist Lorenzo Orrù adds the final terrifying touch with his bestial roars and intimidating intonations, completing a sound spawned in nightmares.

This band, this album, possess firepower that few can comprehend, let alone match. Prepare for destruction, prepare for transformation and reconstruction, prepare for Posthuman Abomination!

Swedish Death Metal veterans RIBSPREADER, have just revaled cover artwork, tracklist and 1st single of their 7th album "The Van Murders - Part 2" to be released next 6th of June through Xtreem Music.

 
     Leaded by swedish mastermind Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER, PUTREVORE, THE GROTESQUERY, REVOLTING...) on guitar/ bass/ vocals, and accompanied by lead guitarist Kjetil Lynghaug (PAGANIZER, ECHELON...) and drummer Brynjar Helgetun (PUTREVORE, THE GROTESQUERY, JUST BEFORE DAWN...), RIBSPREADER have recorded hell of a fucking heavy and ugly Death Metal album that follows the steps of their previous works and will please not only every lover of the band, but every swedish Death Metal fanatic as well. Infamy is a Black Metal band formed by Richy (Drums) and Vincent (Guitar/Vox) the both coming from Lille in France. Later Ben joined the band as bassist. In 2012 after one year of existence, the first five tracks demo tape simply entitled "Demo 2012" is available.

Then a second of four tracks recorded live during a rehearsal came out in 2014 on cd entitled "Noises from Sewers". A few time after Ben has unfortunately to leave the band which now evolves into duets.

The first Infamy’s album has been recorded in analog by Fog during the spring 2017 at Le Caveau studio. It contains nine tracks and is now available since February 2018.

Wznowienie materiałów demo CARNIFEX na CD!

Finnish CARNIFEX will see all their 90's demos re-issued on CD!!!

 

Finnish Death Metal band CARNIFEX, not the horrible trendy US Deathcore outfit, is going to see all their demo recordings from '91 to '93 officially re-issued on CD through Xtreem Music. under the title of "Pathological Rites".

     This short lived band from Finland, as most of all these young nordic Death Metal bands, lasted 4 years from '89 to '93 and recorded three demos, which are now being released with remastered sound, enhanced cover artwork by legendary Chris Moyen who did their 1st demo cover back then and a booklet full of photos, flyers, demo covers and liner notes. Even though CANIFEX didn't cause a big impact in the scene, this is for sure a good legacy that every lover of good old 90's finnish Death Metal will need to have in their collection.

La banda finlandesa de Death Metal CARNIFEX, no esa banda americana de horrible Deathcore de moda, ver´s todas sus demos del '91 al '93 oficialmente re-editadas en CD a través de Xtreem Music bajo el título de "Pathological Rites".

    Esta banda finlandesa de breve existencia, al igual que la mayoría de aquellas bandas nórdicas de Death Metal, duraron desde el '89 al '93 y grabaron 3 demos, las cuales van a ser ahora editadas con sonido remasterizado, portada mejorada a cargo del legendario Chris Moyen, quien ya dibujó la portada de la demo '91, y un libreto lleno de fotos, flyers, portadas de demos y liner notes. Aunque CARNIFEX no causaron gran impacto en la escena por aquel entonces, sin duda esto es un buen legado que cualquier amante del buen Death Metal finés de los '90 necesitará tener en su colección.
