French progressive death metal visionaries EPITAPHE have unveiled "Transient", the new single from their forthcoming third full-length "III", with Everything Is Noise hosting the track's premiere. The album is set for release on September 11th via Aesthetic Death (CD + LP) and Gurgling Gore (MC).
The most atmospheric piece on the record, "Transient" highlights another side of EPITAPHE's increasingly expansive sound, allowing the crushing weight of their death metal foundation to recede into more delicate and immersive territory. Rich textures, carefully layered guitars and a pronounced sense of space give the track an almost dreamlike quality, while its gradual development maintains the band's trademark attention to structure and detail. Rather than simply providing a moment of respite, "Transient" deepens the emotional scope of "III", revealing how much atmosphere can be extracted from the band's already remarkably broad musical palette.
